  1. Enjoyed the game yesterday, I felt Jacob played very well on his return and practically playing as a centre forward at times. Would have loved that 35 yard strike to have flown in, but Dimi is such a great keeper and a good bloke too, was some save to deny him. I thought Boro were the better side for 60% of the game, very wasteful though and Clayton and Leadbitter unusually quiet. Town were much better as an attacking force after the break and had enough chances to have taken a point. I'd be amazed if Boro don't get promotion. I've seen a bit of you this season here and there (yesterda
  2. I'm coming up tomorrow for this one. Be good to see old faces and hopefully Jacob will get a decent reception.
  3. You were comfortably better than us today, although made hard work of showing it. Our system seemed to centre around flooding midfield, but that served only to leave Leroy on his own up top and he couldn't make it stick and so it kept on coming back at us. It also did that because our midfielders were abject and their passing appalling. The back four were good though, especially the two 17 year olds at full back. I expected what we received, and that was a comfortable defeat against a pretty strong Boro lineup. Bamford and Husband impressed, Kike didn't. And had to laugh that Clayton w
  4. It'll possibly be our biggest away crowd of the season so far, just edging Chester I think, that is of course if as expected you bring a few hundred more on the day. Fantastic away support, but then I already knew that seen as I sat/stood with you supporting Jacob at Burnley, Blackburn, Bolton etc away last season. We'll do well to get 6,000 home supporters in. No offence to Boro, but it's hardly a glamour tie and we're not exactly doing well and it's post Xmas, etc etc, excuse.
  5. He's made 18 appearances, 9 of them starts. Just the two goals (both tap ins from a yard out in August). Walks round like he's a Ballon d'or winner.
  6. Yes, but the price goes up. Devante Cole has returned to Man City, so that's our pace up front gone. We might have to pick bloody Leroy at this rate.
  7. We're beset with injuries, to some key players, we're struggling in this transitional/rebuilding season, fielding 16 and 17 year olds, but, on our day we're a great little side. I can see the green shoots of recovery occasionally, some of the lads we've recruited such as Hourihane and Winnall (injured) from L2 and Berry from the Conference have really impressed at times. Hourihane has 11 goals and 12 assists. Deadly left peg. But like most of our team, he's very lightweight/soft. We lack a battle hardened warrior or two. We've 18 year old Mason Holgate at right back. He's a centre half rea
  8. Can tell I've not been on here in a while, the whole forum looks different. Looking forward to testing ourselves against the best side in the division above. And yes, Jacob is enjoying it at Town too. You Reds. Whitey.
  9. Nail hit firmly ont head. Good luck to the Boro. Looking forward to Town's visit to the RS. Mate, he's playing in a central two or a central three. He's not playing in the number ten position where AK wasted him. JB was better for you lot deeper towards the end of last season. He was also starring in that position during pre season. He's excelling at Town either way, and so too seemingly is Clayton. He beats Jacob in tackles per game. 2.6 is it, to 1.8? Not much in it is there? And yep, his passing percentage is better. But just as you can say that Clayton's lack of goals/assis

  11. I'll bite my tongue. Bit annoyed that this article has come out, as it's unfair on Jacob and I suppose, Clayton. Both are seemingly doing well and getting good reviews at their new clubs. It was a win/win deal all round. But whilst I disagree with the article being published, I already knew how well Jacob was stacking up in terms of central midfielders on the Championship this season. Having browsed both the whoscored.com and Opta sites and looked at the statistics, Jacob is deemed the 49th best player so far this season in that division, and the 5th best central midfielder. The best c
  12. What time is kick off tomorrow? Might see how you get on. Hate Leeds. Dunt we all? Hard to just close the door on Boro after 12 months of semi-support. Free SkySports this weekend, so aye, will probably be watching if it's an early KO. Cheers.
  13. lol grow up mate. If you want a private chat with Whitey then PM him. This a public forum mate and people comment on all kinds of things. You're an intelligent bloke so what do you think is most likely? That out of the blue Butterfield decided to leave coincidentally at the same time as we were doing this deal or that he was told the club were willing to let him go, whilst we were signing someone to play in his position, then put two and two together and realised his playing time would be numbered? As I said you're complicating something which is pretty simple, well AV is actually, you'
  14. Decided not to say owt else on this (don't need to), so I'll put a full stop on it instead by thanking you for the messages over the last year, for putting up with my biased reports ;) and I would urge you to get behind AC, and I hope that he becomes the midfielder you want. Going to miss Chris who looked after us in the players lounge, and I will possibly return when Huddersfield come to the Riverside this season. My last visit was painful, watching JB and Boro relegate my own club but that's football. :-/ And despite it not working out as I'd hoped, I know it's been enjoyable for every
