  1. we,ll get nothing cos if ,by some remarkable change of habit we do score first panic will set in and we will try unsuccessfully to defend our one goal advantage and invite masses of pressure on our defence ultimately ending in defeat .......or we will give away an early goal and completely collapse ...im seriously worried about this game could be an embarrasssing scoreline
  2. personally i think the time has come for gibbo to read the riot act to everyone involved in the first team squad , players manager and coaches frankly theyre not worthy of thier wages this year . the seasons over bar the shouting so lets have some shouting and not keep it all bottled in festering away and rotting the flesh of the club . i know its not gibbos style but hes pumping thousands into the club and deserves respect from his employees .
  3. the interview he gave (or at least the edited version) on northern life tonight with regards to the latest defeat showed him to be extremely deflated (not a fighter from the area) and void of any answers to why we continue to lose he even suggested that it may be the managers (his)fault . came across as all out of ideas .

    It's Time!!!

really weird you should post this VB late last nght i noticed a post by one boro on the very first page of this section fron june 2009 called "where it all went wrong for Middlesbrough FC " and some of the similarities in the situations fron that time and now are frightening .....should really have pasted a few of the paragraphs but the post is easy enough to find

cant help thinking that probably for the first time, gibbo has scored a glaring own goal with his "moggas going nowhere" statement , especially with season ticket renewal almost upon us . usually he comes up with a clever scheme or statement around this time of year. personally speaking , at this moment in time im not convinced at all with letting mogga basically have another stab in the dark as regards new signings . he now seems to have resorted to what can only be described as pin the tail on the donkey mentality as far as selecting his starting eleven, formation

    It's Time!!!

i was going to try to rationalise with reasoned pros and cons as to why ive now accepted that he should be gone but prowler seems to have summed up my feelings in one sentence
  7. when i took over gibbo said he hoped reuniting our dream partnership of 1986 would re ignite all those great memories .... so i thought id get us to where we started off in those days , as quick as i possibly could .....in the third tier
  8. Cant even start to imagine what would have happened if mogga ever had to manage berbatov then :s:s:s:s

  10. when we had a similar pole at the turn of the year for the first half im pretty sure Jason Steele (who coincidentally at the same time was being heralded by poster after poster as far superior to Buckland ) was a runaway winner . and was odds on to be the player of the year a few months further down the line . infact despite my having reservations about him being still on the young and relatively inexperienced to be considered our absolute number one keeper i , also submitted my vote for him . its fair to say his form has dipped since then but to be fair to the lad hes had to be far m
  11. whys that dated october 2030:huh::huh::huh:
  12. Regarding strengthening the numbers in the squad and trimming the wage bill ... definately YES were progressing points/position wise compared to last season were staying just about the same at this moment in time regarding player morale and discovering our best starting eleven , where exactly to play them and which is our best tactics its probably the worst i can remember in 40 years following us and i do include the early to mid eighties so erm thats a NO
  13. sort of saw where you were thinlking of going with this but in the end after the replies couldnt help thinking it ended up like the classic life of brian "what have the romans done for us" sketch no offence intended ....im just past caring this season anymore
  14. i can comfortably live with a prolonged stay in the second tier as ,like a recent poster said, its probably our true position on the football ladder id like to think it would be the top half of the division ad to be honest , it should be . what i cant in any way come to terms with is having to go through a repeat of our current form ever again . it really is way beyond a joke now and im all out of looking for excuses its more than any of us deserve to live with . its been 6 weeks since i watched the football league show for christs sake
  15. forgot a lot of the shop names as ive been out the area since 1985 but i still visit me mam in eston once a month and usually get one from normanby fish bar on the way home but its cooled down quite a bit by the time i eat it but still love em btw we do get the jeff the chef ones from our local asda the wife thinks theyre brill but shes never been brought up n em and has no class in parmo tastability
  16. its probably not there now but the place to go used to be the europa on borough road but ive had good uns from mikes fish bar behind reas at albert park and the chippy/pizza place at the row of shops next to the roundabout on marton road just before st lukes . we ARE still on about parmos by the way
  17. That is the odd looking aircraft thing with a bubble on the front right? I don't know if they are still at Old Sarum or even still around! I live in some new houses just built right by the Old Sarum air field. EDIT: Apparently not - Optica Industries was formed in December 1985 and took over Optica plant at Old Sarum. It built 10 Optica aircraft (c/ns 006 to 015), the last of which was complete but had not flown when factory was destroyed by arson on 16th January 1987, resulting in loss of nine out of the ten completed aircraft. The company dissolved as a direct consequence. RedLynch is
  18. it is suprising how far strung we all are .... and also a small world so they say as i met my wife (whos a geordie) while i was working at optica in 1986 which as andy the smog hunter will know was a police surveillance aircraft factory based in old sarum ,salisbury i lodged at a small village in the new forest called redlynch and my wife to be was a barmaid in the local pub there where i rented a room . anyway due to my wifes roots and the fact i now work at the chronicle i now find myself living on outskirts of newcastle in a place called ryton .
  19. well we cant possibly hit on many more of the numerous formations that DONT work surely were due a lucky dip away from coming up with the most excellent avant-garde formation ever cummed up with to footballdom . seriously though here are some positives to begin with realising how good positionalwise justin hoyte is (use him as a template and get a left footed version for next season to balance things ) going in the right direction with the wage structure , with regards to blackburn , forest leeds, blackpool leicester (just wait a few more games) realising how fortunate we are
  20. plenty has already been discussed with regards to the high earners needing to be shifted out so ill turn mt attention to the other end of the wage scale as far as i can summise, that is . i really think it would be helpful to know what exactly is moggas or whoever else has a say in that side of things , current take on the first team futures of a)Cameron Park ..... was extremely optomistic about his future here but has completely fallen from the radar it seems b) Curtis Main .... is he a victim of moggas "favouritism" or stuborness because if we have to rely on youth or the lower
  21. you know what we wont get into the top 6 and we wont go down so in reality all the pressure is off why not for the remaining games scrap all the tactics which dont work anyway and tell the players to get out on the pitch and just enjoy themselves and see what happens lets face it weve tried almost every formation in the books since christmas and still havent found one to settle on
  22. personally i rate skippy as one of our best 3 players but im also happy to see him offloaded IF he has been a disruptive influence in the dressing room and obviously given our financial situation it would ease the strain wages wise . dont shoot me down please all you season ticket holders but in the 4 games ive attended this season ive got a query over george freind in that (and i could be just unfortunate to have been at the wrong games ) he has been caught badly out of position for at least 3 goals ive witnessed and even though i do think theres a good player in there somewhere
  23. one of the most famous quotes in history "i have a dream".........abba , i think it was :dodgy::dodgy: springs to mind cos i did actually have one a week or so ago where somehow though it wasnt about the game itself the score came up on the telly in my dream ....hull 2 mbro2 so im gona have a daft tenner on it for what its worth even tho im not convinced we actually can produce that scoreline but ya never know strange results do happen at the end of the season
  24. the most worrying sign for this game is that , for the first time since october im actually looking to see who our rivals are playing and they are not ones challenging at the top
  25. its really not about promotion or relegation and its annoying that we have to keep having the old only so many points from the top 6 lark mentioned anymore its just not going to happen and barring us not winning one more game we probably have enough points already on the board to stay safe so were going to be here again next year . the real issue is how do we restore basics like teamwork, tactics, togetherness and self belief and IS MOGGA beneficial or detrimental to those goals
