  2. theres a reason Spence went from zero to hero in the last year and it isnt any of the coaching staff at MFC ...OR spence himself for the most part. the credit must go to STEVE cooper who had the foresight to tweek slightly his intentions when recieving the ball in space ,which was exxactly the same amount and areas as was the case here. the boro spence operated on two options, ..A...stand out wide in space, recieve ball ,control ball, look inside or behind and pass... or ...B...stand out wide in space, recieve ball, control ball, bomb forward if theres open field and then look inside or be
  3. if we struggle to bring in TWO strikers would it be worth trying Crooks as a front man, hes got the arial and physical ability, knows where the net is and tackles like a striker so maybe with some coaching and guidance he could be converted into a alf decent forward.
  4. so if 12.5m is reasonble for Spence id think 17.5 is around right for tav. Southampton were apparently interested so why not concoct a tav/armstrong scenario.
  5. i really struggle with it mate, it will eventually lead to me deleting my acount, not so muchthe arguementative mentality but moreso the utter arrogance.
  6. i think im going to assess the Spence fee as a suprise windfall. my final words on it.
  7. if only somebody hadnt mentioned 20m we,d all be licking our lips at 12.5 so imo weve done well with the sale. as stated many times we would have been grateful for 2m a year ago so the whole storyline can and should be put to bed now and we hopefully can utilise the cash injection to bolster the first team squad. lets just stop the pointscoring by nitpicking posts you dont adhere to and get excited by a few signings that still may happen.
  8. just read an article claiming we have interest in signing Aaron Mooy on a free. gre3at replacement for payero .
  9. a lot of rumours and chat around here in gateshead that a well known striker is heading to boro. i saw a few days back a bit of discussion regarding the initials AC ....then yesterday my local newsagent, a big WBA fan was chatting to me about the opening game and he said ...I Bet ,knowing us, Andy Carroll scores against us . which i thught was strange at the time, ..BUT...... PUT THESE THINGS TOGETHER, AND........ well its not an ITK statement but well worth thinking about.
  10. good lad aphex, i was gonnasuggest option 4 .... get one more player to join .
  11. its lovely, always prefer away shirts. tbf theres so much more scope to experiment with the away kit though. deffo couldnt have used it at bishop.
  12. im a tiny bit suprised we havent been linked with barbet , recently released from qpr, he ticks most boxes.
  13. not quite as god as i hate italians, slanty little eyes.....no sorry thats italics
  14. fair chance we will make another approach being that hull have just signed figueredo from forest.
  15. longer the spence saga drags on the more i believe forest is the most sensible destination. spurs are playing a dangerous game and could shoot themselves in the foot, i get the impression spence wants to go to spurs but also is happy to return to forest as a close second choice but thinking logically he is a better fit at forest where he stands out as a vital part in things rather than risk his inefficiencies being exposed at spurs in the tougher fixtures and against top european sides. the only certainty in it all is that he doesnt want to be here and we have moved on /progressed from him any
  16. interesting transfer-go-round developing yesterday within the championship. west brom released sawyers ,who looks likely to go permanantly to stoke , o brien seems to be replacing him from huddersfield who are considering tom ince. sawyers for me would be a good option to us if replacing payero. sidenote, im suprised that johnstone and foster havent found new clubs yet after bing released ..two competent -ish keepers for this level. second sidenote.. baggies have also brought in jed wallace so they are recruiting well.
  17. STEFFEN for me, he would send out a message that we are major players in this league. all 3 others have thier plus points but the ambition in signing steffen outweighs thier positives.
  18. except that with all the loans he didnt spend that much time in the city
  19. high hopes for this lad, what pleases me is his willingness to carry the ball forwardswith a bit of pace, similar to a former aussie, craig johnston. he may be hampered fitting into our midfield being left footed as we have tav well established but id like to see both him and Conteh given a decent run of games. its a 7 from moi
  20. a positive 6 from me, based on him actually being less useless than i thought. he chipped in with a few goals and did what i said on the tin, in the game at cardiff he had his best performance for us and in all honesty the tv pundits were adamant we should have subbed him around half time as he was close to getting a red. as with the other signings weve commented on he "didnt let us down" infact he offered something alternative and had a small impact in some games so henceforth he edges past the meduim line of 5 imo.
  21. its down as 5.30 k o live on sky, huddersfield,s game on friday night to open season
  22. thats severe, makes you laugh at the punishments dished out by english authorities and even then there seems to be extra escape systems in place for any london based club. the harshest i recall was rangers being demoted 3 tiers and thus enabling celtic to bask in glory and self acclaim for winning everything for 5 years.
