  1. Posted similar sentiments a few time recently. The significant thing to take from the last few weeks is where we are now as a club, from a financial point of view. Earlier this summer we all thought it would be free transfers and bargain basement buys - wrong! Mogga clearly has enough money to do some serious business at this level and that's such a refreshing position to be in, after what we've all endured in the last few seasons. Too true! When was the last time that the gazette ran a pole about the player fans would most like to see in a boro shirt, and we actually went out
  2. Its been a funny few weeks as a boro fan, linked to players home & abroad, seem to be close 1 minute then drifted the next, the whole situation with 'you know who' and I know for some it has been a touch too frustrating, tempers have been a bit tetchy at times! But... on a brighter note, isn't it nice just to be looking at players that are of a decent championship quality, I had started to forget what it was like to draw closer to the end of the transfer window and feel a touch of excitement about who might arrive. Even if nobody does end up signing before monday night, it's still bee
  3. Vector should offer to pay you it back. Foolish speculation, and a loss of forum/Twitter credibility for him. I also lost money on a stupid bet fueled by Vector and his rumour ***ering My source stated to me, that at no point has McCormack, or his agent been in contact with Middlesborough FC. Seriously Vector, you have misled fans on this transfer. Vector, are you actually @indykaila ? On to serious matters... Vaz Te... Vector should what!? Are you actually been serious?
  4. I'm not convinced one way or the other, the silence from Ross himself is deafening, and Leeds haven't had much to say for a few days now. Why hasn't he signed this mysterious new deal yet? Saying that, I'm not completely convinced we'll sign him either, it's a wait & see game It's not in the club's best interests for a player to sign a new contract during the transfer window. Gives the player all sorts of bargaining power that they don't have out of the window. The only thing that is confirmed is that discussions have begun. I don't expect the new contract to be finalised for at leas

  6. Well lets be honest, nobody would think to look in there for money!
  7. As long as he left his money somewhere safe while he served his prison sentence then it could be worth while!
  8. Very true NB4, but have noticed a few people mention that he is still a decent PL player, and I read that he won player of the season a while back, plus I remember how good he was at City, now it seems strange that a 60k a week player like him is available but nobody is interested? Makes me suspicious! Same can be said of an absolute tonne of players in the PL. A lot of it is down to the limitations on the squad sizes. Also, I have a villa supporting friend and when I put that question to him he said that it's because they are desperately trying to shift the high earners and replace them

  10. I'm a bit out of touch with the PL these days, but can someone riddle me this, if Ireland is fit and ready to go, and he is still a decent enough PL player then why isn't he either in the Villa team or attracting interest from PL clubs?
  11. Selling GL and buying RM woukd be a no brainer fir me. The way I see it is we have other players similar to GL, but we don't have anyone who can do the RM role, which is exactly what our team needs right now IMO
  12. Gazza for me, (I know he did play for boro for a bit), the guy was mesmerising on his day, he was a character on & off the pitch, but he could do things and WOULD do things that the current England crop could only dream about. Such a shame watching him battle his demons
  13. Think I would agree with wells Stubz, as much as I would like to see Becchio I think if we had the choice of the 2 I'd take the chance on wells, having said that, I seem to recall someone saying Bradford want 5 million which is a bit OTT! Don't know much about Buttersfield so can't really comment
  14. Think you might be in for a dissapointing week stubz, if you could only have 2 of them, which 2 would you go for?
  15. Other clubs in the championship have their problems too, look at Wigans attempts to sign Adomah :)
  16. Haha, I have no doubt about what you posted the other night VB, and I still think there is something going on as Leeds have STILL not declined our offer publicly. The whole footballing world knows about Steve Gibson and his standards, we would not chase a player once told he is not for sale, so something is going on at Leeds end. I don't believe for 1 second it has just been agents behind it either, Gibson has been around long enough to know all about agents, he's even got a court case under his belt! so we wouldn't have took things this far just on the words of agents - there is more to
  17. I don't want to just go over a topic that has been done to death BUT... BM syas he wants Ross to stay...fair enough Ross has publicly said he wants to stay... fair enough According to BM, the board want Ross to stay... fair enough But somebody at that club has been signalling to us that a deal could be done... we are not the kind of club that chases players that are not for sale so what is going on!!! If I was Mowbray I would be tempted to 'out' the liar to the public, because somebody at that club is lying!
  18. Not watching at the minute - didn't he celebrate? That seems odd!?
  19. well if Becchio was nothing more of a panic buy for Norwich, and they wouldn't want a kings ransom for him, the next question is would he want to come here and would his wages be affordable? and if so, get him in quick before someone else does!
  20. I hate to admit it because I would love to see McCormack come but I agree, think we might be better off dropping it and focusing our efforts elsewhere

    Don't look back...

You're right James, I couldn't either, but that's kind of my point:)
  22. Anyone any ideas why Norwich bought Becchio in Jan but then don't seem to really want to give him a go? seems strange, they obviously wanted him? Did I miss something!?
