  1. i'd take a point tomorrow, we still don't seem much of a goal threat and until we manage to find a solution to that problem we will struggle to take 3 points. Saying that, we always seem more suited to playing away from home so we could nick it. Think i'll say 2-2, with us taking the lead but then coming back from 2-1 down. Carayol and Juke to get the goals
  2. I would love to see Becchio for the right price, I think he brings about as near to a guarantee of goals as you can get at this level

Makes you wonder who else will 'fall' years ago people would have sniggered if you had described Forest, Leeds, Sheff Wed, playing in anything other than the top flight - where will we be in 15 - 20 years?? Man united in league 1? Chelsea? Man City? Aresnal, Liverpool .... I think sooner or later one of the 'big' ones will slide
  4. I can also confirm this to be true :D sorry VB, couldn't keep a straight face!
  5. Can't speak for anyone else, but I wasn't saying the current negotiations are been done in this manner, I was just stating that in my opinion, it does go on in football and I think our club has probably been guilty of it at one time or another - I think it would be a bit naïve to think these shenanigans don't go on and if Laz believes it is going on at the moment then fair play to him. I for one can't provide any evidence to the contrary Never been VB, if i'm honest my knowledge of the free masons is very limited. I know my granddad has tagged along with him on a few occasions and he s

Makes you wonder and reflect as to why it all went so wrong and could something have been done to prevent it Spent many an hour pondering the answer to that question... I have now put it on the same shelf as the meaning of life, and 'do we really exist or is it all a dream'

I too have had many a debate with fellow fans about this The problem is we have been spoilt as fans, from the beginning of the Riverside Revolution to the end of the McClaren era was a rollercoaster of exciting times and exciting players, with a new stadium, training facilities, an academy that can produce genuine talent, big name signings, trophies, Europe etc etc it's very difficult now for fans to accept that for the time being at least this has all come to an end and now we must embrace the start of a new era - one which will be very different!
  9. To be honest, the point Laz made about making bids to show intent to the fans is, in my opinion, something that has happened in football for years, and I don't think Boro are innocent of it, I'm not saying the ross McCormack bid/s are an example of it, I'm not singling out any examples but I'm sure it has and does still go on, even at our club. However, the problem is if clubs only ever bid on players 'in their league' so to speak, then the fans shout about the lack of ambition - it's a fine line!

I cant see how it would work at all, not even short term. The only reason it worked with Robson/Venables is because it was Robsons first management role , he was inexperienced and fighting relegation. Mowbray is not inexperienced, not fighting relegation (touch wood) and way more stubborn, dont think he would ever agree to it
  11. For me the interesting line from the Echo article is... "There's one of two players we've inquired about and the numbers quoted back have been ridiculous so we just forget about them and move on" Throughout this whole saga, I think this is the first time anyone 'official' has pretty much confirmed that Leeds have NOT discouraged our approaches - I realise it is something we all knew but it's the first time we've heard it from the horses mouth. Hopefully this might make the Leeds fans realise that we have not been told 'Ross is not for sale'
  12. I'm not sure on your numbers, but then I don't have access to that information. All I'm saying is that on the surface, you took a player who was apparently very happy at the club, settled in the area and was cintracted till 2015, then you spent money out if a very limited budget offering him a new contract as a "reward" for....something? Then he gets praised as some sort of Leeds 'hero' for accepting the raise in income! The mind boggles
  13. Actually thats a good point, I assume leeds will be offering all of their better players a new contract, even if their current one has a couple of years left? I hope all clubs follow this model, it makes perfect sense... offer players with 2 years left on their contract a new deal on more money for no reason - this should definitley be advised for players who 'dont want to leave' and are 'settled in the area' anyway
  14. Cheers guys, good to be back on board, I hope your all doing well?
  15. What club offers a new contract to an already well paid player who has years left to run on his current deal. Answer, Leeds apparently
  16. I too worry that Becchio/Sharp/Vaz te and numerous other have all just strangely & simultaneously adopted a £2.2 million price tag, and I wouldn't rule out 20k per week wage demands either! But why accept the bid for him if they wanted him to stay??
  17. i think this is where some are going wrong over here, Leeds are not in debt and our wage bill DOESNT need to come down, it just can go any higher, there is a difference -our wage bill is also very low compared to our turnover around 57% in 2012(Middlesbrough was 119%) here is a question: why would Leeds accept a bid and tell him he can have contract talks with Middlesbrough....then to offer him a new contract? I posted the same question myself earlier today VHD, that is what is puzzling me about the whole thing too!?
  18. This all really depends on how you want to define 'big' or 'famous' What makes a club big?? attendances, trophies, shirts sold, turnover, profit, training facilities, money spent, stadium size, qualifying for Europe, I mean we could argue all day with any set of fans from any other club over this but everyone has their own ideas of what makes a club big. In my opinion, ***nal are a big club but many would disagree because they define big differently to me I meant to add that in my opinion (and that is all it is) Leeds are the bigger club, but that doesn't mean anything come kick off
  19. One thing that has perplexed me in all this is.... other than to appease the fans, why would the Leeds board accept our £2.2 million offer as we are led to believe but yet offer Ross a new contract on the same day?? Why do both, either accept our offer and let him go, or decline our offer and if you really wish you could offer him a new deal despite him having 2 years left on his current one, but then that begs the question why accept our offer and then offer Ross a GENUINE new contract with a big increase!? Even if this does go through, I have a feeling this deal is ending up taking up mo
  20. How about this one... @BickersLUFC "Boro have come in with a 1.8m bid for Luciano Becchio. I can't confirm yet but I think #LUFC have rejected it. As pointed out by PP - You have to be pretty delusional to believe that Leeds United can reject bids for a Norwich City player!

  24. He openly stated he doesnt want to leave in numerous interviews , 3 bids had been rejected and hes said many times that if the transfer does go through it will be up to the ''suits upstairs incase they needs money for something''. Hes also put in 100% on the pitch and his celebration after his goal showed his intent. Im sorry but us leeds fans are used to our best players leaving and u get to learn the signs :P from what the people on the inside on our end are saying his agent is trying to push through the transfer whilst trying to squeeze a pay rise out of leeds. Btw his agent is a huge boro
