  1. Lol im not doing very well today with my posts, hows he cup tied btw did he play for oxford in the cup at some point or is their some obscure rule stopping him?
  2. lol in my mind i must have assumed that Wing was playing on the wing and Tavernier was playing in the middle.
  3. Shotton is cup tied mate. Tavernier is a winger, so could probably play out left instead of Wing, and then have Forshaw or Howson in the middle. I think i may have got Wing and Tavernier mixed up, does Wing play in the middle, if Tavernier plays on the left? and fair enough did not realise with Shotton shame because he could have used game time. With that in mind id go - .........................Dimi........................ Roberts.........Fry....Ayala.............Friend .............Wing/Foreshaw...Clayton......... Troare..............Baker..........Tavernier ....................
  4. Second part of that comment is spot on, its bizarre you drop someone like a stone (even if its a cup game) after they've had a really good game considering the rest of the team are not exactly setting the world on fire with the way they are playing. Roberts, Tavernier and Wing have had 2 good cup games in a row but got no where near the first squad. Ok i accept i wouldn't swap Christie for Roberts since Christie has done really well since coming, however Wing is a different story that left wing is a problem downing is starting to perform better but id still give him a shot out their and id put
  5. tbf to people that want to sack Monk (im thinking more along the lines of Gibson bringing someone in as a joint role so Monk can learn from him) - 1 - Id class Pearson or Rednapp as someone else 2- All the more reason to be annoyed at our position in the league and the way we are playing. 3- Ok agreed on that one no arguments 4- 14 games into the season but also 2 cup games so 16 games in total thats actually alot of time to find a system, if their was progression and you could see what he was trying to do but had not perfected it yet he could be forgiven. However can you see a clear pla

  7. Like how to trap a ball, play a pass, take a chance, make a run, hold up play, whip a ball in and challenge a header? I was actually referring to trapping a ball and been stronger in the air also when he has the ball at his feet. In terms of making a run i dont know what you were seeing the last 2 home games but he moved more than most players out their when we had the ball (no movement from most of them stood like statues) and for me that passing comment is harsh their was tons of bad passing out their today it wasnt just him. I actually think in terms of whipping a ball yes he could lea
  8. Without a doubt in my mind this is the truth. This is the team we have. If Monk isn't the right person to manage them, to get promoted we'd have to bring someone in who is the right person. For me, sacking the manager right now still accomplishes nothing. It's not a step forward, regardless of whether you decide not doing so it is a step back or not. Dont you guys think it be a sell to buy policy in January regardless of who the manager is?
  9. Tbf at least wed be on track to avoid it lol
  10. Ive just got back and im annoyed theirs just no progression from this squad in terms of forming into a team. I think Britt has given up with playing off the last man, he has now resorted too going into the channels and comes back in our half in order to retrieve the ball which is not 100% his fault. I think monk thinks the players should be intelligent enough to sort out problems themselves, which this squad cannot do they are not intelligent enough for instance i counted 6 times where 2 players went for the same bloody ball and got in each others way. The other little annoyance was the amount
  11. Ok after some thought id go for - .....................Randolph..................... Christie....Gibson....Fry.........Friend (nothing against Fabio just give him some resting time) ..................Leadbitter..Clayton.......... Bamford.......Braithwaite.......... Fletcher .......................Britt..................................... I think he will go for Ayala, fabio, Howson and Downing instead of Friend, fry, leadbitter and Bamford tbh but we shall see. What ever team he puts out we must get this "its ok to start badly, as long as show resolve" thing out of our heads for this on
  12. Theirs something in that initially managers need to find their best team and formation but once they have done that then you should have a settled formation and team aside from injuries and maybe massive dips in form. I reckon it could be behind the slow starts them players are not use to playing with each other yet so take awhile to get use to a different person along side them in a game if they are constantly changing. A way to combat that is maybe give somebody a partner for 3 games and allow for mistakes in the first 2 but then expect massive progress in the third game in terms of the way
  13. Good questions asked Tom - Do you change anything? Yes but not drastically you tweak not change the whole squad and tactics. Does Traore deserve/need to come back into the squad? No he does not deserve to start, as a manager if u let him start the next game it will indicate to the rest of the squad that what he did on Saturday was ok and you can get away with that. How would another poor home result affect Monk's future? Pressure from the fans will mount but steve gibson wont sack someone until theyve had a season in charge i reckon. How do we combat the slow starts? You press high u
  14. Agreed with 95% of that but i wouldn't call them players superstars in the league at all so far id call them massively overrated. If we spent 100 mil on Lee Don Gook would everyone call him a superstar? to become a superstar you have got to earn it out on the pitch doesnt matter how much you cost and for me the only one who has done that is Braithwaite id say.
  15. Karanka wasn't a good manager but ill tell you what Karanka did have a plan, which he stuck too like glue so everybody (love or hate it) understood the plan thats the difference between monk and karanka. Monk doesn't know to get his plan to work yet with the players he has. I reckon monk wont be allowed by the fans time they'll lose patience because of the money spent whereas Karanka had the time because of the lack of expectation when he took over. My gut tells me Gibson will give me Monk to 10 games into next season or so to get it right and alot of the fans will drift away out of frustratio
  16. Not long ago Sanddancer, or some other guy or girl, criticised Monk. He was shot down for his comment, and possibly for having his own opinion on the matter. I don't see what has changed so much after 2 games. My comment is clearly tongue in cheek, but it seems many is hopping on sanddancer's (?) train. Choo chooooooo Me and sanddancer have been saying the same thing for weeks and its upset a lot of people on here. If you look on social media/fmttm or listen to the phone-in; the majority of fans are also questioning Monk. This is the only place where the majority seem to be backi
  17. Holy.. How DARE you say that? Quickly now, ninja edit that away before the Monk brigade sees it. How can you judge a manager after just 12 games? Nics... don't be that guy Not long ago Sanddancer, or some other guy or girl, criticised Monk. He was shot down for his comment, and possibly for having his own opinion on the matter. 18. Couldn't disagree more with Billy. Thought leadbitter was the driving force of the midfield today - always looking for a forward pass or to find someone in space. Yeah he had to go sideways and backwards a lot, especially in the first half, but only cause there wasn't any movement in front of him. Thought Downing played better to be honest, think that was Downings best game for us...maybe ever since his return, he was very good. Ive commented about this before when ive went to games the team seems to be statues when players like Leadbitter or Clayton have got the ball and want to pl
  19. So did leadbitter play well or did he just use the tried and tested method of pulling a name out a hat lol
  20. Baker on for Braithwaite perhaps not that hes done anything wrong its just rolling the dice and adding a bit more freshness to the team
  21. We've let Barnsley start playing again, or Barnsley have decided to start playing again. The latter is my bet, Barnsley probably holding out for 2-1 win but now have to force us into another mistake.
  22. Stop making excuses for him, he's been given more than enough resources this season. Thats not me making excuses for him thats more me questioning the clubs plan more than anything tbh Fair enough! With the money Monk has been given Gibson will expect promotion this season imo. I think Monk is under serious pressure at the moment, Gibson gives managers time but new managers have usually come in when the expectations are lower. This season is completely different we cannot be drifting away from the playoff positions otherwise Gibson might have to act. History tells you that

  24. Btw guys are we been to critical? I wonder if the club feels its necessary to come back up at the first occasion, apart from Gibsons comment about trying to smash the league but i dont remember him putting a time frame on it. Monk having never got a club up from the championship i wonder if hes been given 2 seasons to do it to build his experience and his team in the first year and the second year is the objective is promotion or to smash the league. By the way thats just me thinking aloud not saying its correct
