  1. Normally, given Boro's history down in "Brizzle" I would be approaching this game with real trepidation. We know they are having a decent season, but we have also beaten Hull and QPR recently, in fairly convincing fashion - both teams also enjoying good runs at the moment. So, for once, I fancy our chances of getting something. Don't expect it to be easy, of course. Its a long away day for Boro and the Robins will no doubt be wanting to prove a point. But I'm hoping, now that Hellberg has had some quality time with the squad, a chance to assess the lads and impart his own ideas to them, that he'll have a game plan to deal with whatever the home side throws at us. A full week to rest & prepare should also help. Prediction: Bristol City 1 - 2 Middlesbrough DZ gets to do at least one more MTD and song. If this keeps up much longer he'll be able to release a full album! 😁
  2. As a couple of others have said, Bristol City has historically been a tricky place for Boro and given you're having another decent season, I don't expect that to change. We will need to be at our best to get 3 points. That said, given our form under Hellberg so far, this has to be our best chance for a while and I'm cautiously optimistic. Our unbeaten run will come to an end at some point...but hopefully not here. Mind you, we do seem to run out of steam a bit in the second half of games, so I'm sure Bristol will have a go at us at some point. Expecting a tough game. A win would be a big result for us, but would settle for a draw. BTW what do Rovers fans think about the name of your website? 😄
  3. Just speaking for myself - and my habit of forgetting midweek games - I quite like a longer interval. Makes matchdays feel a bit more special. 😁 Its the same when they expand the World Cup or try to cram more races into the F1 calendar. Just feels like they are killing the golden goose, stuffing more product in your face to try and increase revenue. The more there is of something, the less special it feels...to me anyway.
  4. Sheffield Wednesday's PPG currently stands at -0.47 If you're also interested Wolves' PPG is 0.125. 😁
  5. The only thing, as far as I can see, is the technical side of our play. As I mentioned we were good at keeping the ball and we could do some nice build-up play. There was just rarely any pay-off for it, as we were often pedestrian, hesitant and lacked creativity. The difference with Hellberg (IMO), is we're quicker, commit more players to attacks and take up better positions.
  6. I've decided I'm going to be magnanimous about Edwards from now on. I know hindsight is 20-20, but he really did us a favour. I genuinely feel Boro would have been play-off contenders at best, had he stayed. Whereas KH has come in and strapped a rocket to us. We weren't terrible under Rob, but often very frustrating. Dominating possession, but rarely genuinely threatening and often undone by defensive lapses. Didn't score nearly as much either. I felt like you could never be sure which Boro would turn up from one game to the next. I mean, you knew we would likely start slow, but would sometimes turn it on in the second half. Sometimes we were just plain awful for 90 minutes. Now we have a very good idea how Boro are going to play. Players once castigated or left out in the cold have been given new leases of life. We have a 100% record under the new gaffer (how long will that last?) and are looking like solid candidates for automatic promotion. So, yes Rob did us dirty by jumping ship, just months into his contract, the first time a PL team came calling. But it was a sliding doors moment that led to a much better opportunity. If spending more time with his family is the top priority for him, then fair enough. Can't really begrudge him that. If he genuinely thought he could turn Wolves around...especially given their playing staff & financial situation...I can only say he must be delusional!
  7. Apparently its the Number Two 💩 bestseller in fictional sports literature. 😁
  8. You know what, leaving Rob Edwards aside for a moment...I genuinely feel bad for Wolves after that. 2 OGs for Arsenal to get the win...the second in the 4th minute of stoppage time after Wolves equalised in the last minute of normal time. If I were a Wolves fan or player I'd be genuinely crushed after that. I know they say you get no luck when you're at the bottom but that just seems like really cruel and unusual punishment. But yeah - sucks to be you Rob...hahaha!
  9. Late challenge by Brittain. Pretty much a stonewall penalty. Shame as he had a great game apart from that.
  10. Yay - 4 out of 4 for Kim Hellberg's Red & White Army! Beginning to see a bit of a theme developing here. Imperious in the first half, scored a couple of good goals and missing chances for an even greater lead. Started the second half quite well, got a deserved third goal and Boro were looking to be cruising to a comfortable win. But a bit of poor defending gifted QPR a penalty of their own, which gave them a lift and we struggled after that...though fatigue probably also played a part. Definitely had to defend more, but still created chances to add to our tally, which was encouraging. Overall a much easier win than I was expecting, so hats off again to KH and the lads. Game plan executed and another 3 points in the bag. Well done everyone!
  11. Fair play to Delano - good job of winning the ball back. But then plays a terrible cross in.
  12. FFS Burgzorg you useless clown! Fluffed a golden chance to make it 4-1.
  13. More good defending from Boro - if a bit last ditch at times. We really are looking tired now.
