  1. Fair enough. I admit to not being there, I don't do night games at 71 unless staying over, which is not cheap these days. I get my views off DATM just as I get yours off OneBoro. It's a game of football in the end, not life and death, and none of the controversial bits will be shown on the 2 minute Sky highlights , well apart from your penalty I guess. I'll take it from there, but the result is as it is. You did snatch some points, well done, just wish you'd got them against Rotherham where they were far more deserved. It's a funny league.
  2. New manager bounce. What planet are you on. He's won 3 in 17, so not exactly new. Blackburn were rubbish. Granted I'm a Town supporter, but still feel robbed tonight, and we have a poor team. No subs bar kids, 3rd choice keeper, Hogg a Boro lad off early as well, and a ref that was crap as they come. Denied Town a penalty, then gave you one, and if you see the replay I think you'll honestly wonder why. I watched your highlights v Rotherham and it was one way traffic in Boro's favour, so you'll know what I mean if I say the result wasn't indicative of the game tonight. It is what it is, but new
  3. Bloody brilliant Neil, from an HTFC supporter. Beat Reading last match and they can't even use the deduction excuse. Good luck Boro in the play offs. Hope you get a better ref than we did last year, but in all honesty ignoring money, I'm glad we didn't go up. I could well have seen us setting records, and NOT good ones.
  4. Thanks guys, your local Town fan, back before getting too inebriated. In response to some comments, and these are only my views. Yes we were rubbish first half, could have been three down, but we do have an ace keeper. Carlos to me set it up wrong at the back, Hogg doesn't belong there, Russell played like he'd got headlights in his eyes all the time, Holmes ineffective, him and Sinani knocked off the ball too easy all the time. Second half, we weren't considerably better, but were better. One header disallowed, a stonewall penalty that the ref didn't even acknowledge or question, and tha
  5. If only! Maybe you don't realise that we've never actually won a HOME leg in the play offs, not in normal play anyway, and the only one we won was M.K.Dons on penalties. Considering we've won far more of our play offs than lost, 6 out of 9 I think, one things for certain, Town won't do it the easy way. Not over yet.
  6. Great result today folks, and good luck for the last game of the season. I really thought Stoke would prove more difficult for you today, their recent form putting them in the top six, so totally wrong on that. HTFC move on, and I seriously haven't a clue how we've become so good since that day last November when we lost to yourselves, and have suffered only two league defeats since. Team spirit as under Wagner seems to be worth a hell of a lot of points. Believe it or not, I don't really care what happens now. I'm 70, went to the last play off final etc, as I did in 1970 at your place w
  7. Cheers, thanks for the good wishes, I'm not expecting any. ( good luck against yourselves of course) Still it would make a nice change, just for myself of course but I'd take the draw now as a good result for us. Good luck to yourselves too. I'd far rather Boro than Forest who still seem to think they're this massive club, even if it's unlikely they won't make it. After last night, Luton don't impress me, so I hope you catch them and keep them out of the play offs. Plus as far as us old gits are concerned you are and always will be a Yorkshire side, and far enough away to be liked considerably
  8. Someone is more optimistic than a Town fan even..... 2 out of 5? I'm assuming they think we're a certainty after last night, guess I could be wrong. I certainly don't think we are. Q.P.R. Friday, granted lost their last five, but such form doesn't last for ever, then of course yourselves on Monday, where we haven't had much success for as long as I can remember. ( Well I remember 6-0 and 3-1 wins 65/66 the year you got relegated, which was my 2nd season watching Town, but that's a long time ago!!) Anyway back on topic, considering I've got my ticket for the game, it'll be just my luck to see
  9. Yes, we travelled a few divisions for the first time ever after 1973. It happens to many teams, even City and Villa, and look at Sunderland. Still I was at the game in 1970 at your place when we won promotion with that team you mention, though it was before Gowling and after Sidebottom, Gowling joining after Worthington left, though they played together later at Bolton where Frankie scored that famous 'worldie" On a miserable night, back end of March 1970 (29th?) a 1-1 draw was enough to confirm our promotion that night. I was a 17 year old on a coach on my own as my mate was working as a tra
  10. Sorry, three pints of 5.2% may be the cause, but hey still friendly. I honestly have no idea, Luton are a tough side, not a pretty side, but I wouldn't bet on the game. We can't be as bad against you as we were at home, but also we never seem to get a result at your place. Whether QPR and Coventry will still be in with a shout and up for it then who knows. Barnsley and Bristol at home should be easier, but one's a local derby. If I had to bet, I'd bet we'd beat Bristol, who drop to bits after xmas every season, especially as by then it may be too late for us. One thing for sure is we won't get
  11. Who knows, ( Humpty) as some of your lads have said, I'd think it was more or less a six horse race now. I didn't say we were going to be in them with any certainty. Having thought we'd be battling at the other end before the season started, personally I'll be happy whatever the outcome, but many will be disappointed. It's conversation lads, don't turn it into the likes of such as Forest and Wednesday fans who still think they're massive after decades of not being any such thing. I won't mention those other West Yorkshire scum, who wouldn't even consider us anywhere near their equals, th
  12. On a further note lads, if we meet in the play offs, probably best to win in open play for you. We've been crap at penalties this season, missing at least four out of five, (maybe 5 out of 6, I can't be bothered to check) BUT, when it comes to penalties in the play offs, well see for yourselves: https://huddersfieldtowncollection.wordpress.com/the-play-offs/
  13. Hi guys, your local Huddersfield fan here, been a while since I’ve posted. I’d deffo agree with a number of posters, neither of us are ready for it this season maybe. To be fair at the beginning of the season I’d have said we’d be fighting relegation, having brought back numerous old players like Ward and Rhodes who simply can’t lead the line. Still we got a keeper from MK Dons for a pittance who is likely to end up player of the season and Sorba Thomas from Boreham Wood who on his day puts in the best crosses I’ve seen for a while. Ill be at the game hopefully on Easter Monday. Day out w
  14. Nice one Rioch, good luck with that. I'd get down the bookies right now, think you can still get 25 to 1
  15. Please lads, Huddersfield fan here, lets just leave Wagner out of the equation if you can. You can't seriously think he's going to abandon Huddersfield at this time of the season, and to be fair for Boro? It's getting near "fat lady sings time" and even Wagner may not be able to work miracles. He's turned down Wolfsburg and Villa already, and I live in the area, have a soft spot for Boro, another Yorkshire club, but he just isn't coming here. We know we won't keep him long, best we expected this season was top half of the table, and the silly sods done too well. We do need to finish the jo
