What do you want him to do?! He can't miraculously make our players suddenly awesome. Sorry...isn't that his job??? As far as I'm aware 'miracle worker' isn't in the job description for a manager. I'm sure he's doing the best he can but when you've got a squad full of players that are terrified it can't exactly be easy. All really successful managers have that ability to work miracles...if the team are terrified then it's the manager's job to sort it out...the buck has to stop somewhere surely??

Listening to the radio commentary, we haven't even come close to scoring...boro fans starting to leave the stadium already.

There's no appetite for winning - we start every match in defensive mode, lose the first goal and, invariably, if we're losing at half time then we just ship more goals......

I've said it before the back 5 should be as stable as possible it becomes second nature yo know how the others perform and when to cover etc when you all play together week in week out That's the nub of it - consistency, having played at a reasonably high level (some years ago), knowing your team mates and where they're going to be and which side to place a pass is vital - the same when defending set pieces, corners etc which has been our Achilles Heal.

What would you suggest then? Steve Gibson is not going to invest any further £££...

The money doesn't just buy players, it buys backroom staff, facilities etc. It also softens the blow of relegation which hit us hard and still seems to be hard to accept for some fans. The teams who came down last year were in freefall and were not rich clubs to start with - this season will be different with possibly Villa and QPR going down - they have massive financial backing as things stand now. When did we last buy a player and how much did he cost?? there's one for you.

I predict 10th or 11th finish - while we're fumbling around for draws, others below us are winning and we're now part of the 'wannabe's' - the problem is that we always seem to start very poorly and usually lose the first goal. The team we have is nowhere near good enough to get us promoted - too many 'has beens' who play too few games - we need consistency with our defence, Woodgate may have been good but unless he plays every game then we have no firm shape to our defence.
