  1. I'm in my second season. Started Unemployed with Ex-Pro rep and took the Brentford job in October 2013 when Rosler had them in a relegation fight. Did gash. Had a few arguments with the board and resigned when the Wolves job came up :P Took the Wolves job and did much better - got them promoted via the play-offs. Now in the Champo and we're struggling... 2 points from 5 games. Mind Boro under Alex McLeish are the same...
  2. Barnsley V Sheff Wed - D Huddersfield V Leeds - A Blackpool V Blackburn - H (Rhodes) Bolton V Ipswich - D Burnley V QPR - D Derby V Birmingham - H Leicester V Bournemouth - H Reading V Millwall - H Yeovil V Nottm Forest - A Charlton V Wigan
  3. Stan James have suddenly added Billy Davies to our betting at 10/1... Getting silly now :dodgy: Tahy've also shortened Jimmy Fllloyd down to 4/1... Stan james are idiots
  4. Phelan is 8/1 with Coral, 20/1 with Paddy Power Martin O'Neil has entered the betting for the Palace job now, too. Between 8 and 10/1.
  5. I'm hoping so... Given our chances of getting RDM would be slim, let Palace have him and leave us Phelan! No. No you are not. :) Di Matteo / Palace odds slashed to 10/1
  6. Chris Powell is 20/1 for the Palace job... Wouldn't mind him at Boro either.
  7. Phelan in at 8/1 for the Palace job with Coral :dodgy:
  8. I'd take Rosler - Lots of potential, quite hard line and pretty young for a manager. Parkinson has done a great job at Bradford, though has a suspect CV pre-Bantams.
  9. Next Palace Manager Odds (Sky Bet): Neil Warnock - 9/2 Tony Pulis - 6/1 Eddie Howe - 10/1 Di Matteo - 16/1 Mowbray - 18/1 Meulensteen - 20/1 No odds for Phelan yet
  10. If that's the case our prospects are darkening... If Di Matteo doesn't fancy the cold, brisk, Smog filled air of Teesside then that's even more bleak. Meulensteen or McCarthy would be my ports of call after that...
  11. Venus odds are shortening now, too... Phelan's range = 1/6 - 4/7 Venus's range = 4/1 - 10/1 Holloway's rnage = 9/2 - 12/1
  12. Good post. The squad is, on paper, very strong at this level. What we need is a team - Not only a manager, but a team who're going to get the best out of them. I'd rather spend £4m on putting together the infrastructure off the field than spend it on a single player...
  13. It surely can't be Venus... What do we do then? Promote an assitant from within and just carry on with the same set up but a different figure-head? Surely we can't be that blinkered...
  14. Cheeky ;) Glad we agree for once, though :P (Not on the footballing brain... on it not being Venus!)
  15. If it's Venus then sacking Mowbray was all-but a waste of time...
  16. Somerset Boro - are you The Artist Formerly Known as gladgarethsgone? :P
  17. he got them promoted with a fairly average squad, dont know what people expected them to do this season It's less to do with results, more to do with his blatant disrespect of Garvan and, in particular, Marange... Signed Marange on a decent sized contract only for him not to be in the 25 man squad and Palace be paying contracts for 2 players that can't even play... Can't believe you'd go out and make that many signings without keeping the 25 man squad rule in mind. Certainly can't argue over his record last season - was a great achievement. But with morale as it is in our squad now?
  18. I'd have taken Ollie before his debacle at Palace... But after that he's damaged good in my eyes.
  19. That explains it KM786 - First thing I did was went to BBC Football to see if he'd been sacked!
  20. Holloway's odds have just been shortened to 10/1...
  21. "Best brains in football"? Fair enough. Happy to admit I got that one wrong and seems I did type that. Bit of an overstatement i'll admit to that - but he can certainly read a game. Perhaps 'in English football' would've been more accurate. But on to your qualm, mate - you asked why people think O'Neill is a 'cheque book manager.' I replied telling you why I thought he was a 'cheque book manager.' You reply claiming I said he 'failed' and was a'bad manager' - neither of which I actually said. You're the one who's taken a huff at someone having a differing opinion. Not me. If you didn't w
  22. jpbro obviously can't read. Firstly you read 'fell' as 'fail' - and now you think I said Neville was one of the 'leading brains in football'? Think you need to go back and read the posts, mate... Anyway, back on topic before the thread derails.
  23. God's sake I thought we were all adults and could discussdifferences of opinion on a public forum... Apparently not in one case...
