Rumours we had scouts at the Peterborough vs. Reading game to watch him in action. Netted a hat-trick that game... He's a very good Championship player. Never made the Premiership, but I don't think his style would suit the top tier. Scored 13 goals and laid on another 11 in a relegated side last term. Very good pedigree at this level.

If it's two strikers, I reckon we're closing in on Becchio - plus one of McCormack or Tomlin. Any which way, it'd be amazing business on our part...

As I said - Becchio on loan with a view to a permanent is just as good as a permanent signing before the window closes. I'd rather Becchio come in on that deal than sign the likes of Ameobi or Miller before Monday. For me, it's more about quality of personnel than the deal we bring them in on.

To be honest, if we're looking at Becchio and Ayala (and possibly Butterfield?) on loan, those deals don't have to be tied up before Mondays deadline. I'd rather us focus our energies on the permanent signing(s?) we'll look to add. But, even if those don't come to fruition, Becchio with a buying clause would be a fantastic addition in an area of the pitch in which we're remarkably short on experience. Ayala (though I don't personally rate him) would addd numbers to our central defence ranks and Butterfield would add some creativity from the centre of midfield; which we've not shown any prol

Tomlin would be a great signing for our Championship campaign. Not the type of player you could rely on in the Premiership (ala Rossco if we ever got him / got there); but certainly a player who scores goals an assists just as many, too. Think that, with Tomlin working around him, Juke would thrive. If we don't get RM, Tomlin would certainly be a very decent replacement. I've rated him as a top Champo level players for years, so would personally be delighted to have him here!

Utilise Smallwood as a back-up holding mid for Varga & Whitehead and bring in a CB and maybe another covering CM to sure up the squad. V good buisness all from the sale of one player.
