  1. There is that old saying “ you can talk sense to an idiot, but you cannot make an idiot see sense “ 😀
  2. I knew it was traditional, but all other English teams have gone for the red and white scheme or all white. British teams use red white and blue, but the fact that the oldest internationals were England Scotland using blue always seemed odd. But hey a white top and red shorts even in Victorian and Edwardian times with their distinct colour choices wouldn’t have seemed out of place.
  3. I think Gibson is fighting various different fights in football, FFP, Agents fees, EFL policy on owners etc. This was a small battle but done publicly, usually it’s all done behind the scenes. I don’t think we will ever know precisely what has been agreed, but I think what is clear to see is that the EFL cannot continue as usual and a big shake up across football and in all areas will start to happen.
  4. I think it’s more a day for Derby fans to get Liquid, let them have today for tomorrow the beers and cheers are for Boro.
  5. I’m not a fan of Turkish delight, but it’s better than Boro playing in white 😁
  6. Wearing a good dose of High Karate was always better though. Make Love not War 😅
  7. He has fought the battle against Derby County but Steve Gibson’s wider war in football is still going. Only expect a brief wave once the whole war is won and maybe a few pre recorded words. Until then don’t expect to understand exactly what battle was being fought or on what lines I’m afraid. Unless the good folks at the Derby end decide to be more open.
  8. Karanka was inflexible, he had a plan and he got his players to play it, but when it wasn’t working his back up plan was stay the same and swap like for like, in the hope the opposition would immediately forget what our system had been for the last 65 minutes that they had been effective against and suddenly change their style.
  9. Uche is Uche his skills and ability are championship at best, your right it’s not the player I’m really arguing about it’s options and the ability to change things. Going direct and long ball after changing from your usual style is great if you have players that can do it. Since Viduka we have had no one who can do that role if we needed to change. Having a big tall lad on the bench to lob things towards is a waste if he cannot hold up and distribute effectively. And frankly in the years since Viduka we have had many players who we have utilised in the long ball style and I think the results a
  10. I disagree but I accept your views and insights though. We need outgoings to generate funds for incomings, Uche was surplus and expendable in the wider scheme nowt wrong with that, but I’m not a fan of having a plan a and plan b being the same as plan a just with a substitution.
  11. Steve Gibson’s battle has always been to stop other clubs breaking the rules and putting their clubs in jeopardy in order to get into the premier league, where they can line their pockets at the expense of the club. This battle has been pushed as MM vs SG and it has been but the bigger war has always been to force the EFL to actively manage and police FFP and the wider health of its members against the actions of short term shysters. This has always been lost in the Derby vs Boro battle, but hopefully in the wider war for football this will have been a victory as the EFL now is under
  12. Your correct, not Wycombe but Mansfield, but I’m not denigrating Balogun or bigging up Uche, they both add different things. I like options if plan A fails and Uche delivers that in this division. I think your misunderstanding what I’m probably poorly trying to say.
  13. Scored against Wycombe, has Balogun scored yet? Under Wilder id have both here, they offer different things is my point
  14. I’ve seen Uche have more impact for Boro and Cardiff than Balogun. I’m not saying one is better or worse than the other, just what I’ve seen.
  15. Wycombe never actually instigated proceedings against Derby iirc, they were just a registered party of interest so to speak. Whereas Boro had instigated and were actively and publicly pursuing them. If so much of boro’s transfers were not private and undisclosed I’d say that MM had asked for these details to be private so Wycombe don’t see them and want a slice of pie.
  16. Uche is a different style of player to Balogun. If you play to his style and strengths he will have a positive effect for you in terms of goals and points.
  17. They are Derby County, Founder Members In Mel we trust. Did anyone expect anything different from them. These are the same fans who blamed Steve Gibson for them not paying their taxes, Steve Gibson for causing nasty Americans to not want to buy them. expect to see more of the MM puppet art up on their boards and tomorrow goading Boro fans.
  18. Why the deal is private Derby agree to put up a statue to Gibson outside of Pride Park with a plaque reading Saviour of the County.
  19. They always have had a buyer ready unfortunately for MM and Q, the two separate American bids were not the ones they wanted, and their preferred bidder didn’t want to pay anything, just get given it debt free.
  20. if Only this has been April, you could have watched the reaction on the Derby boards all morning, then at around 11:55 an update is released saying “ Ewe’ve Been Had “ Happy April’s Fools Day Steve Gibson 😂
  21. I’m not expecting this to have any effect on how Derby fans conduct themselves tomorrow tbh. Gibson could have dropped everything and paid Derby and MM millions and it still won’t change them. They are a stubborn deluded lot are Derby. The shepherd tells em what to do and where to go and the Derby sheep bleat and follow.
  22. I’m not sure much will have changed tbh, Q were always in a position to name a preferred bidder and sell the club Pursuant to the EFL granting the owners a pass on their fit and proper owners tests and agreements on all footballing debts and creditors. Gibson was always open to delaying settling the dispute till after the sale as long as any successful financial penalty was guaranteed. If I’m honest I expect that the amount being requested as a penalty by Boro has been reduced to a figure that MM will personally either guarantee to pay or a figure that will allow prospective buyers to com
  23. One striker doing that would be great, expecting to have two at Boro and your dreaming 😅 Next you will be wanting the defence to contribute goals too as well as stopping them. This is Boro not Brazil 😂 Doing one job right is our motto, multi tasking and successfully is just wishful thinking.
