My main take away at the moment is, all things being equal we have Fry and Lenihan sitting on the bench next season. As Fry won't go anywhere, wonder whether we are open to offers for Lenihan. I don't see Clarke or Rav not being the first choice next season - they are both outstanding.
Great game yesterday. We really should have won. It does bode well for next season. As long we don't sell too many key players.

Fella on FMTTM says Sorba Thomas is joining in the summer. Decent enough if true.

I think there will be a couple of changes here. It's a tough game and one where partially fit players need to be risked so I would go.
Dieng
Ayling Rav. Clarke. Engel
Howson O'Brien
Jones. Azaz. Greenwood
Lath
Once we've got the game won 😂 we can mix it up a little bit. Give Hackney some minutes. Dijksteel is going to be needed for Leeds I think so he needs a few more minutes either here or against Ipswich.
Re the Ground I would just do what others do and have Bulkhaul sponsor it for whatever the maximum going rate is in the Championship - so see what Leicester get from King Power and use that.

I can us selling him if someone offers £10m or something. It maybe that this is Brynn's chance.

Bizarrely, Fotmob have Engel their MOTM yesterday. Purely based on stats. I found it amazing but his stats were actually good.

@Redcar Rioja. Someone really needs to ask Carrick about Hoppe.
We had FOUR youngsters on the bench today. I mean how bad is Hoppe in Carricks and the coaches eyes.
I think Hoppe is being given the chance to find a club in the USA before their windows close. That's all I can think.

This game is wide open and still no subs. What is he waiting for?

Can someone explain to how Izzy Jones can have cramp after 40 mins? Is this the same reason for all the injuries? What warm ups and gym work are they doing?
If we could cross we'd be winning here.
I would find a way of getting Barlaser off. He just jogs around not tackling, gives the ball away, apologies, repeats.

Wondered where Charlie Lennon was when he didn't play for the u18s earlier. That mystery is solved 🤣
Is he one to hope gets on at some point?

Off the pitch things were in a very bad place. I promised not to discuss specifics so i won't but lets just say we weren't in a place to announce Carrick's contract at that point.
Was this when rumours about Scott being head hunted arose? Would make sense if there was a battle of wills going on.

Someone on FMTTM saying Carrick has signed a new 3 year contract. Good news if true. Anyone heard anything?

Couple of things from recent Gazette articles I find interesting.
They seem adamant that Clarke doesn't fit the style of play. They keep saying he's not a ball playing centre back. I think he is. I suspect they've been given word he's going to be sold, which I find weird.
They also seem sure that Bangura has interest and will be sold or at least have bids. Again I find this one a bit weird.
I think it's safe to say the transfers this summer will not be what we are expecting. Some fan favourites will move on, perhaps to help us keep Rav, Hackney, McGree and Jones.
As ever it's going to be very interesting.
-
I think when looking at what we need next year we need to consider who could improve on this season.
For me
Bangura & Engel will both be better
Clarke will be better and fully fit
Azaz will have adjusted and hopefully be better
ELL and Coburn will both definitely be better.
I also think at least some of Finch, Bilongo, Nkrumah, Cartwright etc might be part of the first team squad. So it's not as simple as just looking at how folk have been this season. Our model relies on players getting better the longer they are with us.

Funny that the smallest away crowd is seeing this. Need to finish our chances. I would find a way of getting Jones on 2nd half. Maybe move McNair to CM and Ayling RCB and get Howson off to avoid a second yello

The audio book for his autobiography is brilliant. I actually enjoyed going out running while I was listening to it.
Agree. Have read it and listened to it. Having him read the stories makes it even better.

Other than the current shenanigans with the trains due to a tresspasser on the line a great away day. Topped off by seeing Bob Mortimer and him confirming he had had his pocket meat. What a fella.

Same team I reckon. I'd play Dijksteel all day long but it's not happening. Loved seeing Lath and Forss up front. Two out and out goalscorers in the pitch is a joy to see.

The main hope from last night is as the game went on the connection between the players improved. Some of Clarke's defending anc passing was sublime. Things started to come off because the players believed.
Football is strange. Howson doing a captain's job and getting their players sent off changed the game. His interview on Tees was brilliant - basically saying the lad was stupid and the ref had no choice.
We should gain confidence from tonight. The next 2 away should be exciting. Like Norwich games, QPR matches tend to be exciting. Loads of goals etc.

Excited - not much but what are we supposed to do? They do need us and these next 3 games are huge.
Formation.
It won't be this but I would go
Dieng
Dijksteel Rav McNair Clarke Engel
O'Brien McCabe McGree
Forss. Lath.
Carrick - I believe Scott will tell Gibson there is no point in changing now as we won't get anything but a short term fix. All to review in the summer. And hope to God Howson, Jones and Fry are back sometime soon.
-
I think if we were in a pre-Scott world Carrick has gone today. Gibson doesn't sit by and let us sleepwalk to relegation.
I would expect some hard conversations this week. The next 3 might just be make or break.
Wednesday will be a low crowd and probs a very quiet atmosphere. The players need to drive themselves forward. I'm not sure other than Rav any of them have it in them.
-
I don't think Carrick gets how bad we are and how serious this is. Just listening to him then, where is the realism about how much of a mess we are in. Ignoring it really isn't going to help.

This does feel like a team out of it's time. The real question would be is does Scott have anyone lined up to step in. If not I'm not sure there is any point in getting rid of Carrick and co.

Dieng
Ayling
Thomas
Rav
Clarke
O’Brien
Barlaser
Greenwood
Forss
McGree

Big mystery for me - why Dijksteel isn't playing. Ayling is to slow to play this formation.
Carrick has got this terribly wrong. But he has most times at home this year to be honest.

Have you never seen Rav shouting at everyone and pushing them up, generally organising? I wouldn't be surprised if he is Captain next season.
