The biggest issue for me is that the efl and the epl don't go hand in hand. If a team breaks ffp rules and is promoted then that epl should not allow the promotion. Its (in reality) cheating.

I just can't see us bringing in 3 more players let alone 3 starters. My prediction, more will leave than sign, and we sill sign 1 that may be a starter, if he chooses to drop Mr undroppable (or hackney)

I just can't see Hackney being a better number 10 than an actual number 10. I'm not sure why we would want to push him forward if we get a proper dcm. He needs to play alongside one to get the best out of him imo. If we were to push him forward it would be to take a creative player out and leave howson in. That's just a bizarre concept to me.

Just a thought on payero, he was the marquee signing that pretty much saw Lewis wing out of the door. Not to say wing has gone on to pull up trees but he's at least kicked a ball in England recently 🤣

I have zero issue with those two signings. Lath looks the business. Engel dropped a clanger today but each of our back four will at least once this year playing the way Carrick wants. I don't consider either of them to be projects. Our biggest issue is still rb and cm. We have two centre midfielders that aren't great at winning the ball and lose some of their forward play because they are concentrating on, and failing to improve upon, their defensive play. Get a proper dcm in that can shield the defense, win the ball and give it to someone that can start the attacks (Hackney or barlaser)

I expect, of all positions, striker to be the most likely loan spot. Cover for lath or potential to play alongside without having a 5m man having to sit in the bench. I hope a cdm is a buy and probably a rb on loan if dijk is sold. Am may be s loan too given how many we actually have that can play in the three on the books.

Love the idea but at some stage we need to try to start putting in "option to buy on promotion" clauses. Maybe we already do and have been rebuffed but the record of our previous loans puts us in a relatively strong position. "Feel free to loan them elsewhere, but we have a proven track record..."

I'm not overly fussed with him going to the prem. He was superb in regards goal return with us but I don't think I'd have taken him if we'd been promoted (I know, I'm in a minority). I actually said this to my brothers last year. I'm not sure he will be a success immediately and that's what you need as a newly promoted club, your 15-20m striker to score goals to keep you up. It happened too often that his first touch got away from him a little or his final touch was heavy. In the championship he got away with it a little, but I'm not sure he'll be the success needed in the prem. Don't ge

I'm not being funny, though will probably get laughed off the board, but £5m still sounds far too little for mcgree. I'd want up to 10m. Granted, that may not be all up front but I'd be looking for at least the money that wood is going for, so 7m rising to 10m. Different positions and wood has more potential because of age but mcgree is a full international and one of the best passers in the league.

None have come out and said the deal is no longer on so I imagine its still on. Could be taking more time than we want for a number of reasons. Could be that the selling team is awaiting a replacement, it could be that we are trying to free up funds and it depends on a sale from the same position. It could even be that there is a player going the other way and we are working on the details of contracts. Deals can take time though it's naturally frustrating when we really want to see progress yesterday. Let's just hope Lurker, Humpty et al can deliver an update soon.

I mean he tracks back better than most of our front 4, if not all. He tackles and is more physical that our best midfielders. His work rate is very good. Pretty much makes him our best cdm. And yes, I'm being pedantic.
