Dieng made some good saves but probably should have done better for the two goals.  Fry played quite well both with and without the ball.  Lenihan got caught out a couple of times but otherwise was his usual self. Van Den Berg looked a bit lost at times both with and without the ball however but then he isn't a right back, and he did have one nice bit of play with the ball.  Bangura looked ok at left back without necessarily looking like the attacking threat we apparently must have there.  Midfield was pretty much what it's been all season, I thought Hackney was the best of them and he must have had a good handful of key passes but he also lost the ball more than the others I thought.  O'Brien isn't a left winger or a left back.  Crooks is Crooks, I thought he was poor but he did score our goal I suppose.  Forss had a decent game, maybe could have released the ball once or twice rather than trying to shoot but he did ok.  Latter Lath is certainly interesting.  Overall I'd have said Forss and Fry were our two best outfield players on the day.

Yeah probably a fair assessment, its just really sad how there isn't any "stand out" players in the team anymore that can grab the game by its balls and make something happen, like they are all afraid to have a dig from outside the box and it annoys me when other teams do just that and score.

just no quality in the side anymore unfortunately, but might be too early to say but its not looking good.

  2. well atleast now i can say for certain keiran scott is an absolute *** fraud.

literally signed a bunch of league one players and guess what... thats exactly were we are heading at this rate.

carricks seemingly doing a wilder and deliberately not starting one of our best players in mcgree.

absolutely fed up of being told a bunch of LIES from the club about the ambition of reaching the premier league because these singings and performances are anything but that.

we are by far the worst team in the league and it sickens me those words even enter my mind after last season.

  3. Kinda numb to it all now, dont even get angry or upset because like everyone else has pointed out its the same pattern repeating itself every single season.

Squad is never ready and manager never gets backed, eventually gets sacked and we do well for a bit and fall off towards end of the season rinse and repeat.

there isn't really a point in getting angry at something we as fans have zero control over, that buck stops with gibson and scott period.

  4. im still on the fence with scott also, for every decent signing we've had theres atleast 2 bad ones.

payero big money hasn't come to anything "yet" still could. 6.7m

    hoppe waste of 3m

    clarke crocked 2.6m wasted

    amiobe who?

    connoly loan disaster

    sporar loan pretty much same

    lumely less said the better

boyd munce didnt get a sniff

    barlaser, 1 good game

    muniz loan big wages wasted

    lunogo lol?.

theres probably more but yeh atleast over 10m wasted, whilst we sold big assets in spence and tav and have nothing to show for it.

so i wouldnt say i dislike the job he's done so far but im not too impressed either, but theres still time to be proven wrong which i hope is the case.

  5. coventry are genuinely dire, park the bus and pray for a lucky goal, you can tell the nerves are getting to them they dont want to give an inch away in their half.

come wednesday with the croud behind us we beat these lot, especially if paddy keeps up that level of defending that was subperb.

definatley start forss and bring jones on later, just think forss has better link up play for some clever one-two's to break through.

  6. Not much to say really we didnt play our best and the gulf in quality clearly was there too see, shame we dont have millions to throw around like burnley do, most of there squad is every bit a prem side.

our entire defense has been a total letdown the last 2 games with paddy and smith being the worst offenders.

i'd be intrested to see barlaser given a run but im not sure we can afford to drop the energy hackney brings to the side.

we just couldn't get an inch the entire game every second ball was won by burnley.

    is fry injured or what?

monday is THE game to really see whats going to happen with us, massive mental test for the team.

if it doesn't happen this season it will suck but i just feel sorry for carrick he's been put on this pedestal by everyone and really hasn't had the time or backing to really get the players he needs to really go head to head with the best teams.

make no mistake if he gets a full preseason and backing from gibson he will take us up no question, its wether we can keep hold of the key players we have and improve certain positions and actually hold onto carrick should bigger teams come sniffing.

  7. Like I cannot *** fathom how after the first half display, they come out and play like this.

Tbf the midfield has been shocking aswell, it's like they all *** off on holiday during the international break and haven't trained.

Genuinely worried now going into the playoffs because a result like this can kill all confidence and momentum.

Congratulations to the blades on promotion, just hope next season we clear out the liabilities and strengthen and go again like the season after the loss to Norwich, that's if we can hold onto Carrick.

  8. Overall a point gained no doubt there, we just wern't at it most of the night besides the bright start.

Stokes press definatley stifled alot of our build up play, and for me there wasn't enough from the wide area's from us tonight, there was hardly any balls into the box from giles or smith/mcgree, instead we kept trying to force long passes through the middle.

The other thing was we just looked tired in general, like the usual drive just wasn't there it was alot of missplaced passes and bad decision makingfor the most.

Will add steffan pretty much won us a point there no doubt so easy MOTM for me which is honestly the last thing i thought i'd say about him, so praise were its due.

Just relax and see how it goes tomorrow and hopefully a good response against preston at the weekend.

  9. typical the one game i couldn't watch(daughters birthday party) we play rubbish and concede 2 in the first 10mins.

haven't missed a game in ages and we've always picked up points, well besides the sunderland one.

    sorry guys my bad 😅.

in all seriousness though, i did have a gut feeling we'd struggle against WBA there a good side now under corberan.

focus on the playoffs now and make sure we respond by mauling reading at the riverside.

  10. i personally think giles shouldn't be anywhere near LB and just use him as a LW he cant head a ball and is totally lost when marking in the box.

We need djiksteel back period at RB.

and personally i'd like to see clarke in at LCB and either fry/lenihan at RCB.

Midfield is a toss up because i still think howsen needs to be there to marshal it, and then either mcgree/hackney beside him with jones RM and giles LM.

Upfront go with chuba and muniz but muniz needs to up his game alot

Porbably about as strong a team we can put out atm if we go with 4-4-2

It's a difficult one because in isolation you can say that this is just a frustrating result but no more than that.  However, people's reactions aren't really just based on this one game.  Yeah it's a sizeable part of it but it's really about the entire season so far.  We've won once this season, we have the worst defensive record in the league currently, and we just lost a point late on, and not for the first time this season.  If we'd won 3 or 4 it would be a different reaction probably but we haven't won 3 or 4.

finally someone with a brain saying it how it is, this isn't just about todays game. its the same rotten mistakes and excuses we've been hearing non stop and the fact that the midfield recruitment has been neglected this badly proves me right. because every single time we look like conceding it starts with us bumbling around upfront and the the midfield being too slow to react and we get completely overwhelmed to the point it becomes a 2 on 1 or 1v1 with our defenders.

forget about larsen or whoever it would be a complete waste of money at this point, we MUST sign atleast 2 midfielders preferably one that has an engine that can see and breakup any dangerous play on the counter and one that can play the ball into the strikers instead of this nonsense back and sideways passing.

i like roberts in goal think he's better than steffan personally, and i think fry is a better central defender than lenihan straight up, clarke is solid in his role quality signing and RCB i prefer dijksteel over mcnair anyday of the week atleast he's willing to put a foot in unlike mcfairy who cost us massively today.

  12. Have to agree wilders tactics again costing us,sign a bunch of strikers only to play *** mcgree in behind who is the most wasteful player on the pitch tonight.

Midfield is so slow my nan could get a game at this rate totally outmatched in midfield practically every game and not only that there all afraid to play a *** forward pass it's embarrassing.

Lose to sunderland and wilder can *** off for all I care I'm just tired of his excuses now he's had all summer to sort these problems from last season
