  1. There's a few lads I used to meet up with down here to watch the games and chat Boro but that seemed to fizzle out a little bit (quite a few of them moved back to Middlesbrough after a few years working here). I've just bought an apartment in Ancoats, if we make Wembley I'll be heading down from Manchester (similarly getting the megabus up for the playoff leg in South Stand). Could be worth a post in here to see how many Boro fans there are dotted around Greater Manchester (seen quite a few footie tops in and about) so you aren't going it alone! Seems like there's a few on here. I

  3. Comparing Friend and Traore is not really how I see this though. In terms of consistency/value to the team, George currently is obviously far more important. But he is a left back. A good Championship player who will give 7 or 8 out of 10 most weeks. But other players can do that to a similar standard. I'm sure Taylor could, I'm sure Fabio could. Traore offers us something no-one else in the team does, something no-one else in the division could. His speed and dribbling, if (and it's a big if) it could be harnessed gives us a weapon that the other 23 teams in the league would struggle to d
  4. Surely short memories are prevailing here... George was quality in our promotion season and plagued by injury last season (something that I think harmed his step up into the big league dramatically). Traore may be young for footballing terms but as a footballer what we saw last season was pathetic... glimmers of promise, blistering pace but then always wasteful. He frustrates everyone around him because he doesn't know where he's going himself too. I think if we keep hold of this lad we're in for a season of frustration.
  5. Am I reading correctly...people want to keep Traore but would be fine with Friend leaving?!
  6. 17:54 OWLS AGREE RHODES FEE Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough, thought to be in the region of £10m, for striker Jordan Rhodes. We understand the player is undergoing a medical in Sheffield right now.
  7. What a day. Top of the league at Christmas and an unbeaten streak ended. Best performance against a top 4 side I've seen in a very long time. Promising signs of a maturing squad paired with the spirit shown to come from behind this season too. Very confident that it's our time and we have the mouthwatering prospect of AK in the Prem UTB
  8. Something I haven't seen addressed is the fact that Dean Whitehead came to play and had to sit in the stands with the Boro fans. He is Boro through and through that legend of a man. He brought his own kit and was warming up went Kalas went down willing to play for free
  9. Surely a money spinner to all away fans to Preston this season! Posted this in the wrong thread, pre season excitement. Anyway free parking at Preston if anyone needs!!
  10. If anybody is driving down and needs parking I live in a converted mill 10 minutes from the Stadium and have an entire car park you are free to use. Give me a heads up and I'll send over details
