The statement could have been true at the time, to the best of their belief. Things change. Assuming it was Dijksteel, with agreed terms, etc, it may have only slipped when Bristol came in.
-
Lucky in the end he didn't get his way. Least we got money back on Rhodes.
-
That's literally a leak in itself.
-
If he was ever fit for more than 2 weeks straight.
-
Does Branca scrape into the last 20 years?
-
Think he needs to stop believing he's Messi and just release the damn ball.
-
D.Z reckons we're looking at him. Others think he's out of our price range.
-
If Britt had just scored two worldies each week we'd have been golden.
-
Welcome to the club.
-
I don't think any of them are particularly sellable anyway. Not with their likely contracts.
-
Ayala's only 28, got a few years left in him and would cost to replace. Definite extension, if we can afford it. Friend's 31, was cheap to buy, had a good run. Could see a short extension as backup LB/CB. Howson will be 32 by the end of the season. Any extension is getting into Leadbitter territory, possibly not worth it. Shotton over 30, overpriced wage, no real position. Think we'd snatch someones arm off if we could sell. Leaving on a free may be worth it dependent on wage.

Loving the google translate on that: " Navarro and Rosales will compete to play on the right back and Braithwaite ensures danger in the cucumber attack."
-
But he knows we want rid, that we can't afford his wages, that we need the money in. So he can just sit and wait and get the payment we offered to him in his contract. The worst that happens for him is we don't sell him, end up loaning him out again and he keeps raking in 50k a week plus whatever loyalty payments are owed. For us that means he costs us a fortune, knocks another year off his contract, drops his value some more, means we don't get funds in. I'd hold out in that situation.
-
He may be worth more in terms of ability - in the English market. But his last couple of years with us has only seen him lose value. A couple of loans, speaking out against the manager, etc. No one in Championship are going to touch him, PL not a chance. Our only shot of getting rid is overseas. And that means taking a lower fee, by and large. No point keeping him if he's not going to play. And if it means we can't sign the players we need to actually field a team.

Literally what I was suggesting when I said the club is badly run and you argued against.
-
And back to 1 - 0 to us. Goal disallowed.
-
Any claim that the Gazette is "actual facts" and not just the story the club wanted to sell is nonsense.
-
Obviously it depends on the squad. But I was responding to the suggestion that anything more than 60 points with the current squad would be "very good".
-
I don't. But suggesting we sacked a manager to hire a new one and yet expect him to do worse with the same resources is odd. Surely we hired a manager in the expectation that he would achieve the bare minimum the squad is capable of - which, given the dire football last season, would be 7th for me. Particularly as it was Pulis' negative tactics that cost us repeatedly (taking off strikers then losing/drawing games).
-
So worse than Pulis managed playing dire football? And that would be very good?
-
Thank god for Forest. A 31 year old winger with a contract running way past his prime, who's just had his least productive season, who happened to play for us previously. I suppose at least it wouldn't be £7m quid or whatever, but it has Downing 2.0 written all over it.
-
A decent championship goalie or a retired goalie who hasn't played in 2 years and is now managing a nothing youth team? Not a tough call.
-
No.
-
Probably shouldn't put that in the advert.
