So, Matt Clarke was at Rockliffe today doing some training. Doing ball work too, which you'd hope is a good sign. My question for you lot is, who is this? A second player who was training away from the youth lads. Apologies for the blurry photo (it's already pretty zoomed in). I can't work out who this is. Any ideas?

They didn't though. They got 24 mil from Gyokeres and then spent. Brentford spent after building up capital incrementally, over a period of several seasons. And people would be calling for Scott/Gibson's head if we'd signed the players that Luton did. Perspective is needed. People want the success other clubs have without recognising the grind they needed to do to get there.

How do we fix that? By not loaning in as many players and developing our own talent. Does that mean we can fill the squad with first team ready players? Of course not, we don't have the budget for that. How do we increase that budget? By selling players at the right time. I feel like people are suffering from memory loss. We knew a lot of these early signings would need take time to develop and now that some of them haven't hit the ground running it's "we've got a league one squad" and "this is the worst window ever". Madness.

We've finished 7th then 4th in the two full seasons he's been here. It's the second game of the season and the windows not even close to closing. Calm yaself.
