There is absolutely no way that McCormick should be anywhere near the first team. He has a great attitude by all accounts but he has lots of improving to do.

I don't know whether any sell on has been settled but I do know that it would be in no one's interest (Boro or Villa) to make it public.

I am a fan of Azaz but he is a moments player. He doesn't have consistency in his performances, from minute to minute nevermind game to game. If the ball gets played into him under pressure, he is equally likely to lose possession as retain it. He can't protect the ball very well. I'm not sure if it's a technical, physical or mental thing but you can't have a consistency of performance if your fulcrum can't retain possession. Azaz has talent but he can be nullified physically in a way that Akpom or Rogers couldn't. I've enjoyed the moments but I have no doubt we can be more consistently effective without him.

If what is after 8 months? I thought they were able to sign professionally for a club when they are 17? I hope to see them develop with Boro but good luck to them - very talented lads.

I know we are still looking at a more 'target' striker too but I think it might be a week or two before we agree a price (the asking price is still too high and no guarantee it will fall) Add this striker and a LWB and we have a very good squad again!

Apparently he is a great lad, hard working etc and I hope he has a great career but he isn't ready. McCabe - I thought he did ok from what I saw on TV (I'm on holiday and wasn't at the game) Kante - He was our stand out player in the first half. I really like what I see and I'm calling it earlier that he will be our record sale - lots more to come from him. Borges was very poor - his passing into the 10's was terrible and kept exposing our wing backs in no mans land on the turnover. Whittaker/ Burgzorg - really poor. The amount of misplaced passes and poor decisions by these two was off the scale. I can still see 'player' in Whittaker but my patience is being tested. He needs to deliver quickly. Conway - He is not a lone forward but tbh his all round game is underwhelming. Hackney - I'm his biggest fan but what was that? I expect much more from him. It might be the camera but does he look 'heavier'? Glover - Not good enough unfortunately.

As much as I love Conway's personality and work rate - this post is absolutely spot on. He offers next to no threat as a lone forward.

This Ligue 2 discussion got me thinking. We have obviously looked at the league as the signing of Kante shows. This is not in the know, more a suggestion that might have legs! Eli Junior Kroupe did exceptionally well and scored 22 in 30 games. I think he is still only 18 but Bournemouth bought him for £15m in January (loaned him back for the rest of the season). I'm not sure what plans Bournemouth have for him (he has played a part in their pre season), but a season in the Championship (like Doak) might be beneficial. He can play as a central forward or deeper/wider and would be a massive impact loan.
