Summer Transfer Window 2026/27 Season
The LL money seems to have disappeared down Gibsons sofa? Where do you think the money for Strelec, Sene, Whittaker, Brittain, Jones, Kante, Sarmiento and the loan signings of likes of Browne and Targett have been funded from? Strelec was clearly LL replacement but at moment that has not come to fruition but to suggest the club or owner have just pocketed the LL money is stupid.

The below is from The Times (subscription required) so copied and pasted relevant bit: …………. Morgan Rogers looks likely to be at the centre of a transfer tug of war this summer after Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea renewed their interest. Villa valuation is likely to exceed £80million based on needing to pay 20% of their profit to Middlesbrough. The championship club sold him to Villa for £15million in February 2024. ……………….. ^This could have hugely positive implications on our summer kitty. Villa stand to make between £65-£70m profit. And we stand to take £15m+ of that. We could get more from Rogers moving than us selling Hackney. If we get £30m+ total for both that would be very welcome. Not for one second suggesting we will be able to use all the £30m.

Bobby Clark, Jordan James or James McAtee on loan would be ideal as a Hackney replacement. McAtee more offensive than Hackney but did play in the no.8 for Sheff Utd and has a great ability to carry the ball from defence to attack like Hackney does. If Forest survive I imagine they might be back in for Hackney.

Absolutely. Even if its another season loan. He will be open to the move as he did not need to move home in summer when he joined us and said that was a big factor. Hopefully being settled in area and now knowing what he coming in to, will sway it for him.

In regards to Sarmiento, there have been plenty of players who while fit have taken time to get going. I do feel we will see a much better version of him next season. Insofar as him being a signing Hellberg wanted, Hellberg did not need to say the things he did about him in terms of knowing him from before etc and rating him. There clearly a previous admiration from KH towards him. He could have kept it generic like he did with the comments about Castledene and Munroe when they signed.

I think he definitely has a input and a fairly significant one, it would be utter madness from hierarchy just to lump him with players without asking him for an input. I think saying “others make these decisions” is just a clever ploy of his to get out of not having to answer endless questions on transfers. Not for one minute suggesting he has sole control or even final say but his input will be as significant as anyones.

Definitely take Lankshaer. 9 goals for a team that is second bottom in league is very impressive. There clearly growth potential there and he possesses a number of different skill sets we are currently lacking. In our team i would like to think he could 15 goals.

Summer Transfer Window 2026/27 Season
A rough guide of how I see next season if we remain in the championship: Brynn Brittain Fry Malanda, TARGETT NEW 8, Morris, McGree NEW RF NEW CF, NEW LF …………………………………………………… New GK Ayling Jones, Ed, Munroe Sarmiento, BROWNE, Castledene Whittaker, Strelec, Conway if we can get Targett and Browne in, then I think we need 5 players. A Hackeny replacement. A new front line. And a new GK - either as a no1 or proper competition for Brynn. The above two line ups are not me suggesting who starts and whose back up. More of a rough guide in terms of personnel. Hopefully we can make effective use of loan market again to fill some of the gaps in

Some of the players you mentioned do not need replacing so while there might be outgoings, not all outgoings require a replacement. Dieng, Borges, Lenihan, Hamilton etc have not contributed anything this season to warrant an incoming when they go. Even Bangura, we got Munroe as back up / competition for Targett. Every season a championship team needs to add between 5-8 players. Coventry were a rare exception last summer but then had to add in January but 90% of teams from bottom half PL to most football league clubs have a similar turnover of players in the summer. We not the exception, we are the norm. Actually think we in a decent position from a championship perspective, the basis of a good team that needs some quality bits adding. But its not a case of ripping it all up and needing to start again

@Tarmo Kink Army is the Sarmiento deal done or dependent on conditions you know. Read somewhere the “loan to buy if certain obligation are met” was more for accounting purposes and he is essentially our player.

Promotion Rivals
Absolutely. Just need the hype around them to calm the f**k down. Birmingham took care of their own hype for one season at least. Hopefully Wrexham hype will also now calm down. I know am *** mad but 4 wins and a draw v Ipswich gets us 2nd I think. Haha. I know, i need to behave.

Wonder what this does for Wrexham confidence as well. Absolutely smashed to pieces at home. Think they miss out on play offs now.

I have thought for a while finishing 4th might be more beneficial than finishing 3rd to avoid Saints but i can very much see Saints finishing 5th. Imagine if they gatecrashed 2nd spot. What an achievement that would be.
