  1. That's something we can all agree on and it's been the biggest failing at the club in the last 2 years.
  2. Braithwaite is a decent footballer I'm just not sure if he's suited to the English game. It's not the end of the world for me if we can bring a player in as part of the deal. The only concern is where the goals are coming from.
  3. I'd rather play like Man City but let's be realistic how many managers in our history have been successful and played attractive football? I want to win games and get promoted, the style of football comes second to me.
  4. Last night wasn't better than Fulham, I agree. We didn't play well, I agree. We are lacking in forward positions, I agree. and I think unless we work miracles in the next few hours we're gonna come up short this season. All I'm saying is that we had enough chances last night to win the game, that's all I've been saying all along. I also admit I was extremely 'glass half empty' with Monk. That wasn't just down to performances, it was the ridiculous signings in the summer, the changing formations, lack of a plan and players like Gibson and Ayala playing awful under him. I thi
  5. Who is trying to talk up yesterday? You keep trying to make the same point. I haven't heard anyone say we played well. There was a poster asking if we looked like turning the draws into wins, on chances alone you could argue we did. Thats completely different to suggesting we played well.
  6. I'd rather stick Ayala up front than have to use Fletcher, he's that bad.
  7. At this level i'd say they are. They definitely are at this level.
  8. I think you give Cristiano Ronaldo Bamford's chance 10 times and he'd struggle to score. I think he'd put Britt's header away 9 times out of 10, I think Britt would have been disappointed not to do better with his header.
  9. Just accept we didn't create any chances then we can all move on
  10. We actually looked more threatening last night when Clayton replaced Howson, it seemed to give the more attack minded players licence to be more positive. You could argue that Sheff Wed invited the pressure as well by being so deep but I don't think playing with 2 holding players has to be negative. It depends on what's going on around them.
  11. Bamford's header was a half chance really, he did all he could do and hit the target with the keeper making a good save. Braithwaite should have scored and Ayala's was a sitter at the end, it was probably harder to miss than score from that position.
  12. I did read your replies properly. I read it when you said there were signs of our home form turning the corner, which is what I meant you are kidding yourself about. If the performance last night had been under Monk you'd have been one of the first people on here ripping it to shreds. We were poor last night, you've said it yourself. People booing may be morons in your opinion but they weren't doing it for effect. It was because they were watching *** from a team that should be capable of a lot more. What does Sheff Wed's formation matter? I don't remember you ever using that as a r
  13. That makes it even more weird why he waited until the final 10 minutes to introduce Gestede. He should have been on long before that as it was clear we couldn't play our way through the Wednesday bus. I agree with that, we looked better when the 3 subs came on and it should have probably been done sooner. People were moaning that Howson went off but having Clayton on the pitch actually seemed to allow Downing more freedom to get forward.
  14. They didnt even play two banks of four last night they played five at the back with four in front of it.
  15. Downing is still a really talented footballer and I wouldn't want rid of him but does he score and create enough for a number 10? He's probably the best we have at the moment for that position but does he do enough for a team looking to get promoted? He certainly doesn't have the impact that Ramirez had in that role.
  16. I don't think anyone is saying we played well last night. I agree with you about Bamford on the left, he's useless out there and looks completely lost. I still don't understand why he doesn't get a chance up front.
  17. We're not going to get our money back on Bamford and Britt. Braithwaite maybe because he still has a name on the continent, however the clubs haven't got as much money. Maybe in the summer. A desperate Prem club like Palace could make an offer for Britt but I doubt it and Bamford wouldn't even attract a loan bid. Gestede I think we need and he showed some strenght coming on yesterday winning a few balls in the box and setting up Braithwaite. We'd have to take a financial hit if we decided to sell any of our strikers, I think that might be the case in the summer because I don't think Pulis
  18. Pulis pretty much confirmed last night what people have said on here regarding Harrison, he isn't fit so we might have to be patient with him. We've also got half an eye on loaning him next season. I don't think we've bought him expecting an instant impact, he's basically a bit of a project and a cheap gamble. He'll be another body in the squad to replace Johnson who looks like going back to Oxford.
  19. Im not kidding myself, if you read my replies properly you'll see that I've admitted we didn't play well! All I'm saying is that we had enough chances to win the game and I've described most of them. As for the morons booing in the ground I don't really care what they think but when you grind out a 1-0 win you don't usually here them booing do you. We played a team tonight who played 5-4-1, that wasn't a team that were gonna be easy to break down. They didn't even play with wingbacks it was a flat back 5 for most of the game with two midfielders sat in front of it. I'm not a hugefa
  20. Ayala missed a free header from about 5 yards near the end, we hit the post, Britt cleared one of our own headers off the line, Braithwaite had a very good chance near the end. We created enough chances to win the game, whether they were set pieces or from open play a chance is a chance it's that simple. This was against a team that came here to defend and frustrate us it was never gonna be an open, free flowing game. I'm not saying we played well but if we'd stuck one of those headers away from a set piece the minority of fans (thats all it was) booing wouldn't have complained.
  21. Yes in the second half, although we didn't play particularly well we missed lots of chances. We didn't. Barely created a thing from open play, just set pieces for the most part. Tonight was poor. Whether the chances are from open play or set pieces is pretty irrelevant, we missed a couple of sitters tonight and should have won the game. The last two league games at home we've played well in one and pretty average tonight, however we are creating chances and should have won both.
  22. Yes in the second half, although we didn't play particularly well we missed lots of chances.
  23. The evidence so far suggest everyone was correct. I disagree like I did then, the consensus was that his place wasn't under threat and it wasn't even a serious debate. He looks dreadful at the moment and I think he'll be lucky to hold down his place unless he improves quickly. His touch is woeful, he can't hold the ball up and his work rate isn't good enough. I don't think Pulis rates any of our strikers.
