  1. I think back to some big games at the Riverside where the crowd have virtually carried the team to a result. Its going to be a hell of an atmosphere on Wednesday and you've got to believe that the team will find another gear.
  2. I've only seem one replay but I thought the linesman got it right.
  3. Just keep switched on at the back and a goal will come, even if we have to take a nil nil back to the Riverside I don't see them keeping us at bay for 180 minutes.
  4. He clearly just makes things up, the lad is daft as a brush.
  5. I think Sunderland will go through, they're better away from home and a Sunderland goal would give Luton an absolute mountain to climb. Saying that I'm not sure Luton can be that bad again.
  6. You've got to try and enjoy the pressure and occasion, would you rather this or last season where we fell apart under Wilder and missed out altogether? This is why we follow the game for games like this!
  7. I don't get the snobbery towards that board, its far busier than this one. You can look on Oneboro and then then come on a few hours later and barely anyone has posted anything. On fmttm you have a more constant stream of content. I think when it's busy this site is better and you get a deeper level of debate about football but both sites are good. I understand people not liking the politics stuff on there but you don't have to open the threads if you don't like them, but if you have right wing political views then I'm sure you won't feel at home on there
  8. Fair result, Luton were absolutely garbage but Sunderland have a bit of quality in the final 3rd and deserved their win.
  9. Sunderland were excellent at the start of the game but it was a bad goal to concede. Luton have actually been really good since the goal.
  10. Feels risky to me to change to a formation that we haven't played since October. Its the type of thing that could seriously backfire, but I suppose there's a fine line between genius and madness 😂 I think we are must vulnerable when we lose possession and thats where we sometimes get caught with our full backs out of position. I would be spending most of the week working on our positioning when we lose the ball and have to defend against the counter. I'm not worried about us with the ball.
  11. I'm not sure how much of a benchmark Monday is for whats to come really. Our fans are using our possession stats to suggest that we dominated the game but I think for the majority of the game they were happy to let us have the ball. Their fans are arguing that they are the better team because they came for a draw and got a draw at our place, the counter point to that is we didn't really need to bust a gut in the game. There's lots of narratives you can discuss with this game, its a team with a great attack but average defence (us) vs a really good, well organised defence with a top
  12. I always feel that Djiksteel is more likely to make a daft mistake in a game than Smith. A repeat of the Rotherham mistake and the season is over, I think Carrick will feel a lot more comfortable with Smith there.
  13. Look at their prediction for the Sheff Wed v Peterborough game and then look at last night's results. You can give someone a studio, camera and microphone but it doesn't always make them an expert on the game.
  14. Can't believe Fry would be anywhere near match fit after virtually 2 months out. I think he's done for the season unfortunately.
  15. Giles over Queudrue and Ziege?! And Randolph over Schwarzer? Wow
  16. Luton has a bigger population than Middlesbrough by the way. I'm not saying their fanbase is bigger (not that I actually care) but I'm sure their town would come out and support the team at Wembley. It would be the biggest game in their clubs recent history so I can't see how they wouldn't sell out for a day at Wembley. Their new stadium is planned to hold 23k so they obviously feel that they can sustain bigger crowds that Kenilworth road can hold.
  17. I think the missing players are a big worry, we miss the energy of Howson, Jones isn't as good as Forss in this shape and McGree doesn't look up to speed yet. I've given up on Ramsey as he's back and Villa and Fry because he's had too much time out of the team now. Even if we got Howson and Forss back I'd be a lot more confident. I agree we've taken our foot off the gas a bit but we went up a gear in the second half, and we look far more dangerous when we move the ball around quick in the final third. I'm not worried about players pulling out of 50/50s that's not gonna happen
  18. Its not if you're one of the biggest clubs in world football like Sunderland. They get massive crowds you know.
