  1. If we can keep them out the first 20-25 mins It'll settle down I reckon.
  2. Haven't been out of our own half for a few minutes now, need to show them down a little
  3. I'd have expected some sort of commentary for a fiver like
  4. Hang on, don't Sampdoria have that Denis Praet as their number 10? So he's gonna go there and be second fiddle?
  5. I didn't realize it was Gianluca Di Marzio reporting on Sampdoria's interest in Gaston. I believe he is really well informed and reliable over transfers in Italy
  6. I expect Wolves to be challenging this season, so in the context of the season as a whole an away draw would be a tidy result. On the one hand, catching then at a good time with their suspensions and injuries, on the other both sides will be getting used to the new regime. Screams 1-1 to me and I wouldn't be disappointed
  7. Thanks for putting that here, I don't really check other sections so I wouldn't have heard about it
  8. Maybe it's just me... but that seems like a daft comment. Ramirez is the same football player whether we've gone down or not. (Or is the Nantes chairman suggesting that because we've gone down, it shows that Ramirez is crap - but in which case why do they want him)? i think they just assume we are desperate to sell to raise funds and cut wage costs. They have rather overlooked the cost to us of replacing him, talent wise he'd cost us the better part of £20m to replace even if his professionalism and integrity are highly questionable In 5 years of English football he's only shown he could do it in 6 months in the second division. If we can get 11m for him after getting him on a free a year ago, that's brilliant business. Although there is no doubt he is the most talented player in the Championship, if he wants to go and we get that sort of money I don't think there's much cause to keep him. Ideally I would have wanted him to stay and play with his head screwed on but hey ho. Between him and Espinosa we've now made 15m from free transfers, not bad at all! I agree that £11m would be good business, but I reckon that Nantes will have been thinking they'd get him for less than 5. All I mean is I wouldn't let him go for a pittance given that people like Cairney are valued over £20m, for us to replace Gaston is going to cost us money either way so we want to minimize that loss
  9. That Badu from Udinese has signed for Bursaspor, loan with option to buy.
  10. Wow. Unless he is 100% moving on that is a bit unnecessary. Don't think there is any need to treat him with disrespect. I'd summize it's more of an indication that he was indeed a disruptive force last season. Monk and to value hard work and professionalism two things that downing largely failed to exhibit last season and if he was part of the uprising I can see why he's be excluded. I guess the difference between him and Gaston is that atleast Gaston it's actually quite good!

  12. They'll probably show the same TV games in the championship as every other station. Well that's something atleast as no other legal service over here televises any EFL at all
  13. It's been a big source of debate as to the meaning behind the phrase he used. According to some Brazilian guy's I know, the phrase he used translates to "What the F* China?" And "Lazy Chinese" when posting pictures of a guard sleeping. One interpretation of the phrase is more like "F* you China." What his intentions were are debatable it seems (atleast a*** people who understand the language) but either way it caused offense which at the end of the day is what matters in this situation. He seems like an idiot to me.
  14. Does anyone know how much EFL that DAZN offers? This will be their first season in Canada but I know they've been in Germany and Japan for a while now. They have the EFL logo on the website but I can't seem to get any more info
  15. The FA have announced that players who are caught diving will receive a 2 match ban. The ban will be handed out if a player had dived and it lead to a penalty or a red card. The incident will be reviewed by a 3 man panel and dished out retrospectively. Bournemouth are fudged
  16. In the context of the season as a whole, a point away at wolves is a decent result. Would be lovely to start with a win though and get a real feel good factor going for everybody
  17. 2Hot - Christie & Braithwaite. Braithwaite was everywhere and caused alot of problems for them, with neat passing and interplay as well as a goal and hitting the woodwork. Christie was a pleasant surprise for me, I was a little sceptical when we got him, but his display was full of athleticism, strength and he worked the full length of the touchline, with an assist for Braithwaite to boot. 2Not - Gestede and Howson. Howson would have wanted to have now of an impact on the game but it seemed to in large pass him by. I'm sure he will come good very soon, but he didn't have any noticable moments. Another who would have been looking to make an impact would be Gestede. With competition looking fierce up top now, I can't recall him having a significant touch of the ball after coming on.
  18. I hope we get a CB in soon, that's the position at the minute that really concerns me. If Gibbo goes or Ayala gets injured again, I'm worried by the quality we have in reserve. I wonder if Monk sees Baptiste as a centre half?
  19. Alright, being drunk right before the new season doesn't scream professionalism. But he's not wrong, he's saying too many don't care and he's reiterated that he cares and wants to be there. If you ask me the lad asking him the questions is a right tool
  20. Randolph - Will be disappointed to have been beaten for the goal, did alright after that, particularly good save in the 2nd half. Distribution left alot to be desired. Christie - was sceptical when we signed him but looked really good. Strong, athletic and can throw a ball into play from the touchline. Ayala - most assured I've seen him in a year and a half except one hospital ball. Gibbo and George as usual Clayts - dropped in to make it damn near a back 3 at times, did his usual otherwise De Roon - Still classy Howson - will be disappointed to not be more involved but it's early doors Bamford - another who'll be disappointed to not have been more of a threat but linked up and moved well Assambolonga - Strong, tidy touch, looks a smart player Braithwaite - He's here, he's there, hes every blooming where. Really impressed, he was a constant threat popping up all over. Getting him tattooed on me chest
  21. I think that's the modern day agent though. But I agree to a certain extent, I either want a motivated Gaston or no Gaston. I don't think he's so integral we have to keep him at all costs, if he stays and had his head on, brill, he can be a big asset, if not he's better gone. I just don't think chanting "F off Ramirez" for 15 mins reflects that balance. No, it reflects the utter contempt he showed our club for 6 months. I just don't feel as strong a distaste for a players requesting a transfer I guess. I was agitated at the time but it's looking forward only for me. New manager, new players, new challenge He didn't just request a transfer though. He sulked and showed a distinct lack of effort in lots of games after January. I'm not going to say he deliberately got himself sent off, but that is a view held by a lot of fans. Requesting a transfer is one thing, having a tantrum when you don't get one and showing a lack of respect to the club and fans who pay your extortionate wage is a different matter entirely. I'm not saying he has to go, but he has an awful lot of graft to put in before I give him the time of day. Respect is earned, and he lost every bit of mine last season, same as Downing. I agree with that last paragraph in it's entirety. But my argument isn't about whether or not I think he's a knob (which I think he is) but I was arguing the point that two lads brought up about it being good he won't have gained motivation to want to stay. For the good of the team, a committed Gaston is better than no Gaston, and that's why I think it's silly to boo him. I would personally neither boo nor Cheer him
