  1. Looks like 4231 to me, which makes sense given the opposition. Ox and Dier as a holding two. I'd say 4-2-3-1: GK - Hart RB - Walker CB - Keane CB - Stones LB - Bertrand CM - Dier CM - Alli LW - Sterling AM - Lallana RW - Oxlade-Chamberlain ST - Defoe I'll bet you a whole £1 that he plays Ox at Centre mid if you want to live dangerously? ;p Edit: if any one knows why I can't get smiley to work properly on mobile shoot me a PM! 3. Would have been great if he'd gotten a start today but at least he should be coming home fit and with a big boost of morale. Won't watch the game (not that interested really) so I'll keep an eye on here to see if he gets on.
  4. Southgate saying he would have no worries about putting Gibson straight in to the side. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/10813815/ben-gibson-could-make-england-debut-from-start-against-lithuania-gareth-southgate-admits
  5. A hull fan went "How in the world Gibson has got into the England squad above Harry maguire I'll never understand. FA have a vendetta against us" Man Utd fan (of all people) "Well he's played very minute in the 5th best defense in the Premier league, he has significant tournament experiment with the England under 21's under Southgate directly and he's left footed. I don't think it's all that far fetched to be honest" Made me giggle a little! From what I've seen Maguire looks like he's had a good season and it's probably fine margins. Delighted that gibbo got the call though!
  6. If he doesn't get a minute on the pitch, then I agree. If he gets on I can help but be really happy for the lad.
  7. From my experiences over the years, I have a particular type of fan I connect well with and a particular type I don't. This is just my own personal preference and I've been the same since I was about 8 to be honest! After 12years of season tickets and a fair chunk of away matches I cancelled my season ticket and went strictly to away matches only, and generally went to 16 or 17 of the 19 per season as apposed to 10-12 when I was was a season ticket holder. This was in the mid McLaren Era, when we were arguably in our most successful period. I found that the success brought in a lot of fa
  8. I wish Grant's footballing ability was equal to his determination. What I like was I saw him giving direction and instruction to his team mates and if they weren't closing down fast enough or in position he gave them a bollocking. It's just a shame his abilities didn't match.
  9. I agree KM,it makes me uneasy to give Aggers the reins. Look he might be a great coach and needing AK gone may have been the big problem for the players. But I'd really hoped we would bring in an experiences hand, a name that would make me think "OK we might be able to do this." Aggers doesn't inspire the fans to confidence, even if he may potentially be the best man for the job
  10. He will probably do well at new club until he starts falling out with all the players Yes very true. Personally I would say that there are enough negative factors about him that could possibly put some other clubs off.... but time will tell. He'll get a job somewhere, no doubt. Most clubs don't have scruffy chavs who are mates with hierarchy :D To be fair, I don't think that's got a whole lot to do with Karanka not being in a job at Boro anymore!! I meant more about the falling out with players and to be a bit cheeky to be honest!
  11. I have a mate who is a Norwich fan, and he is desperate for them NOT to bring Karanka in. (He doesn't like the style of football). I wouldn't be surprised if AK took a bit of a break before the next job. Also, I can't really see clubs falling over themselves to bring him in. ***(Cue: AK being announced somewhere in the next week though)!! :D :D I'd day there's a good chance he will get himself a very respectable job this summer. All in all, he's a young coach who just finished his first job. He was very successful for the majority of his tenure, has good experience prior and is we
  12. That is a brilliant question, brilliantly expressed. I have a mate who is a Norwich fan, and he is desperate for them NOT to bring Karanka in. (He doesn't like the style of football). 13. Bottom 4 is justified, I thought De Ron should have been above a few. Marks generally are quite high considering how poor we were for that middle hour
  14. My edit above might make it more clear as I think we are looking at different stages of the move
  15. I really think that there is a question. My suggestion is that Barragan should have closed him down 15yards prior, at which point Mata does have a run straight through the middle if Espinosa steps out. I've watched it and rewatched it and I'm confident in my opinion. Again though, as I say, in general none of the back can be happy with their performances and there were other mistakes that could and perhaps should have lead to goals for Man U Edit:Although I agree that if the players let it go to the point that Lingard struck it, at that point Espinosa should close down. At that point Gibbo
  16. For me, Bernardo has to track Mata and Barragan has to close down Lingaard. It was appalling defending. However, that one just happened to lead to a goal. As an overall product, our defending was much below our usual standards on Sunday and none of the back four can really feel good about the performance, even Gibbo was uncharacteristically below par. Was it a coincidence or a consequence of trying to play a little more on the front foot? I'm sure we will find out but honestly our goal difference is terrific and should be a good enough safety net, but right now we need points at all costs and
  17. Looking at the table, I think Leicester and Watford and above are absolutely safe, and Palace are probably safe. That means we've got to get above Hull and Swansea. I haven't had a look at their run in but it's absolutely essential we beat them both or we can call it. Huge time in our season now
  18. With regards to the 442. I'd have to have a second look but I thought we looked better as a reaction to scoring rather than the change of system. Up til the goal I didn't think we looked any better really
  19. The minor tweak for me today was that when we got the ball into wide areas we committed a few extra bodies to the box. But all in all I think we were poor today and the score was a fair reflection. Fair play to Agnew for an effective change when we were staring to look like the game was gone. The goal sparked us into life (probably more than the system change) and we all of a sudden looked a threat, similarly to the home game against Spurs earlier in the season. The goal was a bit scruffy but I hope it sparks some confidence into the forward lads. Defensively we were very naive and I hope tha
  20. So Pep only started micro managing when he was successful? AK has a lot of faults but I'm just been level about who we are and who we can attract. I'm still laughing from some of the names our knowledgeable 'fans' put forward like Hiddinck - deluded doesn't come close. Peps first job had him in a unique position since he was a club legend at Barca and had an intimate understanding of the clubs ethos. Either way I understand his point, karanka doesn't have a past record to point at whereas in Pep's second job he did.
  21. Pinhead hasn't done anything to suggest he can improve upon the starting defenders this season. Neither Bernardo or Ayala have looked good enough, Fry is just a baby. I just bloody hope Chambo is ready to start soon.
  22. Tbf it was. United had a number of big chances and with our poor attack they let us attack. Deserved loss because we were poor for most of the match. We're not good enough to survive. Yeah I've got to agree. 1-3 isn't an unfair representation of the 90mins.
  23. We've still been pretty terrible for 75mins, and overall have a poor squad, but there are signs it could improve at least The goal really sparked some life into us, we were looking dead and buried before that
