When I played golf against Rockliffe for my clubs team during the summer all the pitches were being dug up and relaid. I mean, I can’t comment on how much the pitches were altered but there was a lot of work going on at the time.

Rather scarily, I trust the club on this. I think we’ve done perfectly well getting decent fees for our outgoings and I trust we will find a suitable replacement too.

I have no doubt our recruitment team are fully aware of him, I guess it's one of 3 things: 1. We are actively pursuing him and keeping tight lipped about it. 2. We have other targets who we think are better options. 3. For whatever reason we don't fancy him.

I can't tell if I am for or against selling Paddy, he certainly offers something to the team, albeit somewhat accident prone. But I think we can probably get better for less wages too, but there is always the risk that the replacement doesn't work out and it leaves a hole in an important part of the pitch. FWIW I fancy us to do some really smart business this summer, I think Carrick is a huge pull, as is the football we've played under him. I think Scott and his team will really come in to their own if they have some budget to play with.

I usually LOVE the World Cup and not just from an England perspective. I love the random fixtures you get Senegal vs Argentina and the likes, just an opportunity to watch teams you don’t see all that often. Finding it really hard to be interested, not sure if it’s just the time of year it’s on or what. Maybe because it’s interrupting the football I really care about.

I look forward to Strand Larsen being “out with a knock”.

I think what’s exciting (but also part of the frustration as it takes time) is that we are really going for the players we want/need.

Boooo! We haven’t signed anyone for an hour and a half now! Wilder, Gibson, Bausor and Scott out!! Very happy with Mowett, think he will fit in brilliantly. If we can (by some miracle) get in Greaves and Strand Larsen I think we are there or there abouts, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better starting XI.

I’m an avid golfer, started when I was 7. I play for Billingham Golf Clubs team, so I get to play Rockliffe once a year in the team games. It’s a club/course that is catered to a certain type of person if I’m honest. It lacks the charm of a club with some history and it’s corporate in its set up. That being said, the course is good, it’s a long course, so maybe quite tough for a beginner, I also find the greens to be quite hit and miss.

How much better is this thread when there’s some transfer rollercoaster rides to be had! We could end up with any of about 6 strikers… or Akpom and Watmore!

This forum is a bit like driving past a bad car accident at times… painful to look at but you can’t help looking.

I wouldn’t say mid level, but he’s only decent… £12.5m is a decent fee, feel like we can replace him for cheaper and use some of the left over elsewhere.
