I keep checking back every few hours expecting to see he has stepped down. I just don’t see how his position is tenable with fans turning on the team and the players seemingly not playing for him anymore.

I usually only and sign in and comment during the transfer windows. But felt compelled to say yes!

That is a relief, it would be suicide to get rid of our better, more experienced players. We need to maintain a balance of youth and experience otherwise we could be in for a long old season imho!

Not going to lie, I will be really disappointed if we lose Britt. Only a handful of players I feel we should keep at all costs... he is one of them! Oh god it gets worse... does that mean Gestede will play at the weekend? ?

I hate myself for this (only because it's Boro and I know I will feel let down by the end of the season), but I am feeling pretty excited by this new playing style and interest in what I at least perceive to be the right kind of targets. I feel like we are a few signings away from a solid season. The next few days should be interesting, I suspect there will be a few more twists and turns before the end of the window. I am certainly expecting a signing thats a bolt out of the blue.

I think after the Luton game and seeing how we want to play, I would want to sign for us too even if I wasn't a Boro fan. It's going to be an exciting season and if we can tidy things up at the back, I think we will probably do alright too!

I could be wrong here but if AB and NB are flying out, I assume that means a deal has been loosely agreed? I would imagine initial talks are done through an agent/over telephone and this would be a case of putting together final details and/or selling the vision of the club to the player in question? I have zero knowledge of the ins and outs of transfer dealings (as you may tell) but I am guessing some sort of positive initial conversations have already taken place.

Alan Hutton on a 6 year deal with the option of a further 5 years on £150k/week. Oh wait, it's the new Boro... In all honesty, I would be fine with Hutton on a 1 year deal, fill an obvious gap, provides some experience.

I don't post on here often, but spend a lot of time reading/lurking. I find this situation totally fascinating (and not particularly enjoyable). How many bad decisions have lead us down this path? From that January transfer window in the Prem, we have thrown good money after bad on poor transfers, paying over the odds, long term contracts on high wages. Then when we have "sold" players, we haven't been getting money up front and settling for installments, I find it so hard to believe that a big club (relative to football in its entirety) has bad so many bad decisions over a relatively sho
