I can’t see the bid being £7.6m, but I do find it funny the way the Echo choose to word their article. It’s complete guesswork yet they report on it as if they have any idea of what the bid actually is.

I must say every time I’ve watched Smith I’ve been pleasantly surprised how good he is going forward. It certainly makes sense on a free. That could be McGoldrick and Smith through the door today with Gayle and Darlow to follow.

To be honest I don’t think it would be the end of the world if he did. I’ve always felt he slows things down when we’re going forward given him being a right footer playing on the left. As you say Davies would be a much better option.

It would not surprise me at all if Spence didn’t show up on Monday.
