  1. I'm sure the scouting team believe that.
  2. It's not an inspiring signing but it is one that makes sense. He's the right type of player and AK might actually use him. Plus he's scored more Premier League goals than Rhodes ? £6m is chump change in the Premier League these days and he'd probably stay if we went down. Now to get some supply and goals elsewhere in the team.
  3. Young, Crouch and Lampard on short term deals or loans would be my choice. Then build in the summer.
  4. Don't think he's capable of doing that job. His reading of the game is quite poor which is why he ends up running around like a headless chicken. He's best in that No 10 role where he puts pressure on the back 4. He's like Vossen when he plays there but with a goal threat. Are you meaning De Roon brings more of a goal threat than Vossen did? Yep. Vossen (a striker)scored in 6 league games at a lower level with his team being superior to 90+% of the opposition. De Roon as a midfielder, playing at a higher level, against teams that are better than us then yeah I think he's more o
  5. Cheers CT, just a flying visit though back to China on Friday with a brand new copy of football manager to play with. As for my wage when you think we've offered Tevez 600,000 a week then I think I'm underpaid.
  6. To quote a former boro manager 'it is what it is'. I think a fair conclusion is that he loans out people he doesn't want/rate/need. Ah so you mean like every manager on the planet. What an odd thing to do:/ No some loan out to let people get first team experience, to physically toughen them up, to show them what life is like away from the pampered world of academy football or even just player development. None of that applies here Karanka loans out players he doesn't want/need/like. That's fair enough
  7. That's a shame, they were down with him in charge. They've some good players there but we're being badly mismanaged. It's more bad management from Swansea why wait until big Sam has a job before sacking Bob? There aren't many people out of work worth the risk of appointing. Would like to see them give Rowett a chance. Someone like Hodgson should avoid it like the plague as relegation could be career suicide. No doubt they'll offer it to Giggs or Pardew.

  9. That's the one. Still though.... I find that really sad :D I would love it if it was like the boro calendar and was just Jose topless in a series of art house photos.

  11. Gone: Charlie Wyke Adam Reach Luke Williams Richard Smallwood Andy Halliday Frazer Richardson Lukas Jutkiewicz Marvin Emnes Matthew Dolan Cameron Park Ryan Brobbel Christian Burgess Jason Steele Seb Hines David Atkinson Brad Halliday Emmanuel Ledesma Jordan Jones Muzzy Carayol Adam Jackson Still here: Connor Ripley Bryn Morris Bradley Fewster James Husband Harry Chapman That's not including the lads that went out on loan in the summer like Fry.
  12. Interesting stat: Since AK took charge 25 players have left the club on loan. Of those 25 only 5 are still at the club and none of those 5 have played a competitive game since returning.
  13. It would be nice if someone could show Forshaw how to pass without turning in a circle first. I think it could be a busy window wouldn't be surprised at 5 out and 3 in or even 7 out and 5 in. I wonder if Fabio could put a word in with his brother and we could do some twin magic. Play Fabio when needed at left back otherwise Raf at right back (just not at the same time).
  14. That's pretty much plan a. We are strange team in that the longer we have the ball the less likely we are to score.
  15. Valdes was poor with the shot but it was Chambers who was caught out. He switched off and lost his man and by the time he recovered it was too late. I'm torn over our future. I agree that we've built great foundations yet I also think that with just a little bit more intent we'd probably have 4 or 5 extra points already. That would put us 9th/10th in the league. So we are doing ok but we won't stay up if we can only beat the bottom 3. Back to the optimism if we add those 2 or 3 players that we need then we are a top 10 team. Actually think we could achieve this with the current set u
  16. Gus Poyets our new manager so you know. It's taking a bit of settling in but I'm sure I'll adjust. Level of football is atrocious and the games really bent. But the money is ***ing fantastic.
  17. I fully agree Will and if you can have something similar on the other side then you open up space for an attacking midfielder or a no.10 (assuming your intention is to a win a game that is). That said I'm not a fan of Adama he is essentially just a well built schoolboy footballer. To think he spent 10 years at La Masia and still can't pass, cross, shoot or receive the ball on the move is terrifying. It's upsetting when you look at the money we've wasted on poor footballers as I honestly think we are close to something special.
  18. I'd agree with KM that Navas' final ball is poor. What he does give is the fear factor to the oppositions defence which makes them defend deeper and so give space to other players. It's what I'd like to see us do more, stretch the play and leave room between the oppositions defence and midfield.
  19. If we don't it'll be a long season. I have very little confidence in our scouting set up. Hopefully Orta has settled in and is half as good as he thinks he is. Personally rather than messing around on signing some champ manager 10/11 wonderkid think we should try for Ashley Young on loan.
  20. It's common place in the game I'd be surprised if it had any effect plus we've had worse performances this season.
  21. I know I'm late to this (only got in the country yesterday) but hope everyone had a good one.
  22. Yes, I think that means that Traore is certain to start, probably with 3 midfielders in the centre and Downing on the left instead of Ramirez. Similar to the ***nal match. Both Stones and Otemendi are poor under pressure with the ball. Therefore I'd stick De Roon in at No.10 to do his general run aroundy thing but further up the pitch. We should start leaving Adama on the half way line when defending free kicks and corners he's be one hell of an out ball.
  23. Downing played some crazy left to right passes yesterday, one was about 15 yards behind Barragan. It was nice to see him get in the position he did for the goal though. I think Barragan has done okish, probably needs to work a bit on fitness as his decision making goes haywire late in a game. My main criticism I would have of him is he just stops after the first phase of play. That said we aren't blessed at right back and he is the best we have.
  24. Before today's game he was about the 6th best tackler in the league. I think what's helping is Forshaw is getting more disciplined when out of possession. The gap between the two is a couple of yards less.
