Overall it seems to have been a strange transfer window across the leagues, so little movement in the top divisions has meant that the usual ins and outs down the food chain have not happened… I think this has been a key factor in our pursuit of a striker. For me we had a strong window overall considering the above, can imagine Carrick, Scott and co are as frustrated as we are that we couldn’t get the missing piece. As always (as many have mentioned) we will be screwed time and time again by geography... I work in London and have worked all over the country. I Love Teesside but I love it because it’s home and my family and friends are there plus access to the moors and coast on our doorsteps other than that it’s got little to nothing available to offer for ‘city folk’. I do believe we must be a hard sell unless you are either from a similar place or have plans to settle into a quieter life.

Could be something in it but just to comment, when I did a corporate day last year against Villa (TP first game), snograss came up at the end of the match and was very very matey with a table of suited guys next to us (who were friends with virtually everyone at Boro ) and then with our players namely woody, leadbitter and Friend. His agent is local, same one as Downing, Gibson and a couple of the young lads who debuted last night...
