Just realised that season 4 of "Vikings" is well under way. It's a load of old tosh but it's watchable old tosh.

I have never had my hands on a game console, let alone owned one. Never felt the need when there are so many good games available for the PC. What am I missing?

I don't think America has got a Peter Capaldi but I endorse Neverbefore's recommendation of Veep. It's got lots in common with "The thick of it", albeit with a very American slant and it's not as black as the British programme. Big plus, though, for a very funny leading lady in the shape of Julia Louis-Dreyfus. As for the American political system, having enough money is indeed just about all it takes to become president but I think you knew that already. ;)

I understand that M$ are to move towards opening their system to Sony users. This goes right against the flow of previous M$ practice which has always been to introduce incompatibilities with existing hardware and software, even their own. The policy goes all the way back to using '\' for file path separators when everyone else used '/' so it's a notable development. Have Sony got a lot more users or something? ;)
