Yes, from FireFox menu, go to Tools->AB+->Filter Preferences->Filter Subs (tab)->Add Filter Subscription (button) and add at least one, such as EasyList. Users have created lists to filter out all the most troublesome ad sites and it's a far better option than blocking sites one by one. I hope that isn't what you've been doing? :D

That's the advice I was going to give, too, once I knew it was appropriate. If you have never run AB before, you are in for a real treat. It's like a great weight has been lifted from your machine's shoulders and browsing becomes a pleasant experience again. Remember to subscribe to some filters, starting with EasyList.
