This sums up the way I feel also BS
-
That sums it up for me DS, having watched the pre season I had great doubts about how Carrick was shaping the players he was left with and I saw a team with no proven goal scorers in the middle, no proven full backs and a lack of pace and quickness throughout the side. So you are rightI wasn’t surprised just very disappointed that we go into the season in this shape, a big three weeks of the transfer left
-
No more than Millwall deserve
-
Having watched our slow and laborious build up I am starting to view the second half of last season as a golden age. Let’s be honest the team out there at the moment would not have a hope in hells chance of getting in the top six. Returning players and hopefully some incoming will make a big difference, it certainly needs to
-
I just do not know what to expect from this team, Rogers as a centre forward needs a lot of work and Crooks as no 10 makes me shiver and not in a good way. We may well hold Millwall but I just do not see where the goals will come from, but never mind it is early days and I am sure this patched up team will look a lot different by the end of the window

You do realise that you are talking about the Boro😆we have form for such actions
-
Now I know this thread has lost the plot we are reduced to talking about politics
-
I agree can we just have a flag on the thread saying the TLF summary is up then I can stop wasting my time refreshing this topic
-
This was for a young player but there were requirements on the loaning club to provide approved housing, free travel between the clubs, approved and named mentors and the one that I remember most a club representative for social gatherings so as not to bring the parent club into disrepute . Christ I wouldn’t fancy being the last one knowing how some young footballers behave.
-
You would think so wouldn’t you but I saw one of these loan agreements a few years back and it had more clauses than a sea of crabs, especially with young players
-
Villa were consulted and it was agreed between the clubs so I understand
-
Sadly word is it is the same injury that he had at Norwich and at the end of the season with us, I feel for the lad as it is preventing his next loan move being agreed. Just as a snippet of info I also heard that Archer got a kick in the first of the Coventry games but was asked to play on in both legs of the semis even though he wasn’t 100%

Pre Season Friendlies - ALL DONE - REAL FOOTBALL FROM NOW ON

That is why Archer is worth £20 million and Rogers isn’t -
He seems like a genuine lad and I wish him well but let’s be honest here he is going to get run ragged in the Prem
-
Unless of course you are waiting for transfer rumours and news then it goes oh so slooooooow
-
I am firmly in your camp with this Smog, I think Barlaser will be in our starting lineup this season and once that happens we will see the best of him
-
So have Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Everton, I know who my money is on
-
And this is the problem with loan players, especially successful ones, when they are gone they are gone and there is a huge gap. We all knew this new model was coming, buy cheap well scouted younger players and try to develop them into first team regulars. It seems increasingly likely that the days of the multi million signing is over unless we sell one of our better players to fund it, in this case probably Akpom. It will be very interesting to see how this develops and how soon the patience of the supporters will last, not very by the comments so far
-
I think that is a fair assessment of where we currently are. We have 50 goals to replace if Akpom goes and Archer stays at Villa plus we have no full backs

A friend of mine coached Rogers at West Brom when he was in the junior teams and his comments were, loads of talent, needs to find his best position and be coached into it and can go missing at times. Having watched him today that seems a fair assessment to me -
Having watched the Betis game our needs before the season opens are there for all to see, a centre forward, Chubs back or a replacement and two full backs. Good possession at times with slick passing but clueless up front

If Crooks and Rogers are our starting forwards come the start of the season then I doubt we will equal the goals for of Chuba by himself last season. Our midfield look good though -
Just watched the first half of the Betis game and it looks like we need both left and right full backs now with Smith stretchered off. Even before the injury our full backs looked very poor with nothing down the left from Coulson and Smith was constantly caught out of position. The lack of Akpom and Archer is also painfully obvious, well never mind still two weeks to go and our midfield looks good

I never liked Giles anyway, Luton are welcome to him, can’t defend, poor in the air awful positioning and a one trick pony at crossing. He will get run ragged in the Prem and be playing non league football again the season after next, oh and he comes from Telford so must be mentally deficient. Feel better now and can move on 😆😆
