We seem to have imploded

Wish I hadnât written thatÂ

Well this is exciting real edge of the seat stuffâŚnot. Both teams essentially playing the same system and cancelling each other out

On balance a draw is probably the right result, but it feels like 2 points dropped with the chances we wasted.
A game where the forwards were on top and defences were exposed rather badly. Horrible weather a mitigating factor all round...but you have to feel with a bit more composure in the 18 yard box Boro would be going home with 3 points.
An okay performance overall by Boro. We let the game get away from us after Plymouth equalised. Did well to turn it around in the second half, but you never felt we had the game won, due to our lack of concentration & organisation at the back.
Still, we stopped it being 2 losses in a row, so not too unhappy.
A little bit of composure from Crooks on at least three occasions and we would have been out of sight but a draw was a fair result in the end from two teams who couldnât defend to save their lives

Why would Crooks get in Coburns way like that, really poor playÂ

It's similar to the silvera situation earlier in the season. We can see its not working but it seems to take him an extra few games to figure it out.Â
Absolutely right NB and that is the one criticism I would level at Carrick, he persists with things too long when they are not workingÂ

Greenwood looks lost on that left hand side it just does not suit him he is clearly constantly swivelling around to check his position he really needs to be more central to affect the play. Lots for Carrick to play honk about but on past history no changes will be made

This is quite a game and the only certainty is that there are more goals to come

Not sure about Howson coming back into the side he has looked well off the pace latelyÂ

What a strike from Rogers and even better I reckon he aimed it for that top cornerÂ

I question that with the seven changes the players actually know where they are supposed to be playing, our organisation upfront is awfulÂ

Our play breaks down every time we get near their box, the final ball is just non existentÂ

Stoke pressed us high from the first minute and we just could not cope and in trying to break down that press our passing just went to pieces and in trying harder we just got worse. We may as well just use the second half to give some game time to the other squad members as I canât see us coming back from that. I think we have been spoiled lately and now reality has caught up
-
Well so far we have got exactly what we deserve. A really sloppy start, wayward passing, slack marking and big gaps in midfield, oh well hopefully it will get betterÂ

Oh what a lovely day, it doesnât get much better than that. It seems that the influx of players disrupted the start of the season but now we are gelling as a team. We still have some rough diamonds that need to be polished up but things are looking a hell of a lot brighter than a couple of weeks ago

We really lost our shape for that final twenty minutes and they rinsed Smith, where was the cover?  Interesting second half now with them down to 10 men, but in fairness they should have been down to 9 before that. Need to change this up now Coburn needs to be changed and Crooks is offering nothingÂ
-
Everything breaking down when Crooks gets the ball, but we are at least holding our own
-
The lack of pace in our team is frightening against their players, I have a nasty feeling I am going to be watching this with teeth clenched. Â Can we revitalise George Boateng please and have him back, what a player he was
-
Only managed to watch the second half but was really impressed, Hackney was my man of the match, I thought he was superb at carrying the ball. So pleased for Engel, Greenwood and Lath it will be a much happier dressing room now. I hope everyone now sees the real advantages of playing proper full backs in their correct positionsÂ

I would rather see an actual left back in regardless of who it is. If we're going to line up like that then we'll likely need to change our approach. I don't think it's a coincidence that we didn't look as good once O'Brien went off, and he's not even a left back either. VDB just can't do the same job over there. I can hardly remember us attacking down the left hand side in the second half on Saturday, I know we must have done but nothing stands out, and McGree virtually vanished from the game as well in the second half.
100% agree with this CT, we need proper full backs in that back four who have the ability to defend and the correct decision making as to when to move forward and provide attacking support. I think VDB has been very solid at RB defensively but you can see that when it comes to any attacking intent he is lost in a world of indecision, and as for OâBrien, just why! Â As a card carrying member of the old full backs club I am thinking of reporting Carrick to the committee, surely we can find two fit full backs from somewhereÂ
Bristol City vs Boro 3-2 (Viner (og) Crooks)

Just before halftime I noticed water dripping through my kitchen ceiling and missed the rest of the match trying to stem the tide, the question is, given the result and performance, was this a lucky break đ. The question of giving goals away from outside the box will not be resolved until we play with a proper defensive midfielder to cover in front of the centre backs but that will not happen under Carrick so I guess we just learn to live with it
