  1. Braithwaite looking good so far. So are the rest really..... GET IN>>>> Besic.
  2. Give over mate. We haven't been great, but that doesn't mean Hull DESERVE a leveller. They've done even less than we have. BD is full on board the Anti Pulis train now so you're not going to get through to him. I've noticed. But to say that a complete NON penalty is a deserved leveller is utter nonsense. I just don’t think we have done enough to deserve three points. Looking at this match from a neutral point of view it’s been two very poor teams and none deserve to win. No I don’t like pulis and never have but this performance doesn’t deserve three points. We scored a perf
  3. I still can't believe how lame that refereeing was to award that peno.

  6. That has totally been given because the ref just turned down a penalty appeal. Absolute bullsh.. refereeing.
  7. Yeah, Britt should have done better. Could have taken a touch, and then at least hit the target.
  8. Decent line up, although I'd rather see Braithwaite in there.
  9. It's hardly Pulis's fault if our strikers miss golden chances. Personally I agree with him, if he's saying that we're not clinical enough.
  10. Yeah. I agree, great OP. Relatively unchanged line up. I think Wilson is right, it would have to be 0-0.
  11. Why the need to bury threads that are still active?
  12. Definitely some truth in all that LS, but there are some other subtleties too. Despite both styles (Pulis/Karanka) being deemed negative, some people seem to definitely prefer the winning (yet boring/negative/defensive) style of AK... whereas others prefer the winning (yet boring/negative/defensive) style of Pulis. I find that interesting.
  13. Yeah good point. Maybe some people's tolerance level towards Pulis is lower because we had 3.5 years of it under Karanka. Before Karanka, we couldn't defend to save our lives, so maybe people were much more glad of it then. I don't believe in this notion that Pulis' football style is any different now to what it was under WBA. It is essentially boils down to this "get the ball out wide, get the ball in the box and eventually one will fall our way". AV is clearly picking up on this too judging by his latest article. I agree that maybe after years of AK, people crave something el
  14. I agree with the first bit... I just wanted change. I completely disagree with the second part, and that's what I was trying to understand when asking my question this morning. I find what we have now less negative and more exciting.... and I didn't really understand why. I think Nevermind and others maybe solved that for me. I think under Karanka, with all the possession there was a lot of sideways/backwards/sideways/backwards.... I probably found myelf thinking "Oh FFS.... just get the bloody thing forwards". Now that we're more direct, and we actually do get the ball forwards, and often
  15. As Duval pointed out, there were plenty of midweek nights like that under Karanka too (atmosphere/style) - which isn't all that long ago. Here's a genuine question: (And this isn't an anti Karanka thing, so please can those who think I'm being 'against' the guy just take my word for that). I think I'm missing something, so what I genuinely want to understand, is what is it about Pulis football that people hate, that those same people liked about Karanka's football? Weight of expectation. Before Karanka we had been crap for so long, just winning games and being near the top of the ta
  16. Thanks mate. I appreciate the response. (I am genuinely trying to get my head around the intricacies of and differences between the two managers and styles). I agree that we did play some good football under AK. Funnily enough that possibly diminished a bit over time. In fact, having gone well clear at the end of December 2015, and looking like we were [ironically] going to "smash the league".... something seemed to happen, and I think our style/confidence changed. During that run from January - March, and before that whole Charlton thing, we became awful. I'm going to re-read some of th

We played some wonderful football under Karanka, don’t understand how people forget this and compare him to Pulis. Coul

I think Karanka played a different type of defensive football. Lots of possession and ball retention. I think the d

  20. I liked Pulis's post match interview. I think he comes across well. He even admitted that the second half wasn't great, but was glad that the fans didn't get on the players' backs. He also thinks that we need to be more clinical with our good chances, and that the decision making and passing in the final third needs to improve. Some of those things aren't actually Puilis's fault. Like If players are making bad decisions or poor passes at key moments when under the pressure of an actual game. (Rather than in training).
  21. Reading the BBC's stats on Boro v Bolton games.... Tonight's result is pretty much NAILED ON as a home win. GET IN !!
  22. Loved the opening thread picture, but reading the olde English did my head in. I'm hoping that last Saturday was a blip. Annoying, because I had a bet with a Norwich mate for a curry. I was feeling pretty confident going in to the game.... which is the moment The Boro always stings you. 2-0 Boro tomorrow, surely?
  23. From what I understand, the bottom team in each of the four groups (A1, A2, A3, A4) go down to division B. I want England to stay in the top division... and after we lost at home to Spain, I was thinking winning the (tough) group just got even tougher.
  24. Wow... 3-0 now. Two goals in quick succession. We should go above Croatia on goal difference! Edit: Now 4-0. Blimey...
