  1. True but I wouldn't say they're as good as the Downing or Johnson. Most have been mid/low tier premier league players apart from those. Explain to me why that's a bad thing. To answer the OP's question, I don't think it has stalled. I think we've got as good a crop of youngsters as we've ever had and it's brilliant to see our academy products making starting 11s up and down the country. Correct me if I'm wrong or missed one or two, but I think Fewster, Ripley, Chapman (although it's early days), Reach and Jackson are all playing a fair role at their respective loan clubs this season.
  2. Wolves @5/1 seems like an outrageous price at this moment in time. Anyway. Ramirez needs to start, admomah and downing need to be at their best and with Claiton back I predict a riot. Or at least a shut out.
  3. The arguments gotten a little bit off track talking about many youths past and present who were not good enough to to be used Let's focus on the ones that are good enough but are not being used and ask ourselves should we worry for the future of our academy. Reach, no longer a youth be came through our ranks. Sent on loan and replaced. He is now getting rave reviews and comparisons to bale. Karanka thinks he's not good enough. Dael fry. Looks good enough. Used as a last resort. Every CB has been used before he got his game. chapman. Had more endorsements front the other two combines.
  4. It's unfair to use Morris in this argument. You say he "hasn't exactly developed into the next level" well I ask you, since Mowbray left, have you even seen him play? Or is it that he's simply been overlooked that you base your argument that he's not good enough? It's simply because he has failed to impress in the lower leagues out on loan for quite a few clubs. Even for Mowbray who rated him very highly but he failed to break into his Coventry side. That's strong evidence that he hasn't pushed onto the next level so it's hardly surprising that Karanka chose to bring in Zucculini to cover
  5. I personally never have a problem with any of the managers selections. Let's face it, name a player in our first time no other team in the league would take. In regards to the Rhodes/Nugent argument I feel it's very "one rule for one, another tule for the other". Can I just refer everyone back to January when our blip started. During the transfer window people were slating Nugent for missing clear cut chances and calling for a new striker. Fast forward to today. And in the last 2 games Nugent has more goals than Rhodes. People are now saying is okay that Rhodes keeps missing chances?
  6. Thanks GS! I started out at 14st 7lbs when I was started training for my 1st GNR a couple of years ago. After doing Parkrun this morning I was 12st 7lbs so in theory, I should beat my best GNR time this time all being well... however, this course kills me! Both previous runs have killed me around the 10 mile mark and last year I was cramped up so much I had to keep stopping on the home straight... could have cried :( Meeting Colin and Julie Cooper at the end made up for it though (And the super Laurie Cox too who managed to sort my cramp out!) Ouch I was 16st running last year. I got c
  7. Again, why risk our promotion chances by playing untested youth players? Again, why risk our promotion chances by playing other teams untested youth players? We don't play them, which is half the point. And those that we brought in are ALL tested with at least 1 season in leagues against adults. (Usually. Not always, Velkjovic I think was an anomaly). Yes we do. Kalas last season, kalas this season. Fredericks. Bamford. The mysterious Blackman appearance against Liverpool... Where was Ripley? Velkjovic was given a few games to prove himself. McCechran... To name a few. Are you s
  8. Two sides to this coin. So a load of salient points are written off just because fry happens to be playing? Today's CB partnership surely dispels any questions about Karanka's reluctance to play youth. The simple fact of the matter is that we've got better players to choose from than our youngsters. Everyone on the pitch today was playing on merit. It's nothing to do with the manager shoving them in when a youngster would be better or equally equipped. Players who have been played CB since January in order Ayala, Gibbo, Amoribietta, Kalas, Please tell me how this does not

Or is it that he's simply been overlooked that you base your argument that he's not good enough? Morris was one of the brightest prospects fbour club and made a very good cup performance that I saw. I haven't seen him since. The others you mentioned were not even half be prospect of Morris so I will allow these to be used. You have to wonder why coaches, players, the manager, Italian and our local media outlets all rate h

  12. What an ridiculous post. if all our first team players who are able to play striker get a sickness bug rendering them all unplayable and the emergency loan window is closed, we throw in a youth player. Does that show AK trusts him? Nope
  13. Husband isn't a youth player, so you can't really use that argument as a stick to beat Karanka with. "Based on reports" what are the reports? Because Chapman may well be a better footballer, but at the moment Chapman hasn't played a first team match in his career. In my opinion loaning him out so he can get some first team experience is better than sitting on the bench like De Pena is. Reach is playing well at Preston because he's been allowed to flourish. He wouldn't get half the gametime here. Also when you say 'nobody can hold down that left wing spot', what do you mean? Bec
  14. Had this exact same argument before the Burnley game with a number of different posters trying to make the point for chapman to star over de Pena and I was made to look like a fool, Powlay. The basic line was "if they are good enough they will play". I too was and still am frustrated at the words AK used and do dear their opportunities. I also don't agree with the if they are good enough to they will play because let's face it HUSBAND is a far greater left back than AMORIEBETTA. Was loaned out and AMORIEBETTA played. BASED ON REPORTS CHAPMAN is much better than DE PENA. Loaned ou
  15. My second In a row this year too. Last year Zoe's place but running for mind his year. A charity a lot closer to my partner and I's heart. Looking at your times I'd say you're light years ahead of me . Mind you self confession I did very little (none) training. Good luck achieving your funding targets and smash your time l!
  16. Do we think de sart might get a few minutes Taste of English football tonight?
  17. Same account that reported de laet leaving I believe. An absolute troll
  18. Nah man. Ha'way Blackburn, Bolton and Reading. 3 wins please Got greedy and karma punished us
  19. No shots in the derby game yet...
  20. I hope this means if Rhodes starts we are more likely to win... The other option would if Rhodes starts we won't win which after winning more games than any other team before we got Rhodes would be an odd thing to say
  21. Should we also drop Gibson for not handling the situation better? The ball really shouldn't have come as far as it did and that's not down to Dimi. Fair to say Dimi was slightly unsighted with Gibbo in his way and watching it back, Bowditch was facing away from goal so it wasn't exactly easy to see which way it was going to go. Not saying he shouldn't have done better but I can forgive Dimi for that one when you think of the caliber of saves he's made throughout the season that has won us so many points. Can hardly blame him for all the goals we've conceded. I'm not saying he should
  22. Is there a case of mejias to start next game. If strikers aren't scoring they are replaced. Dimi has conceded in the last 4 games and goalkeeper error led to last nights. Precedent should be the same
  23. Darlo + needham market over 2.5 goals for me tonight.
