  1. This is how I see us shaping up next season and approaching the window: Dieng / Glover / Brynn Smith / Ayling Van Den Berg / Fry / ????? Clarke / Lenihan Engel / Bangura ????? / O’Brien / Howson Hackney / Barlaser Forss / Jones Azaz / ????? / Gilbert ????? / Silvera Latte Lath / / ????? / Coburn / ????? Out/end of loan: Dijksteel, McNair, McGree, J Jones, Thomas, Greenwood, Hoppe Ideally one or two of the strikers we bring in will be able to operate on the left wing too to give us more depth. That would be
  2. Has that team come from a usually reliable source? Or is it just someone on the wind up?
  3. I’d also controversially like to see Hoppe given a go at some point. I’d like to see him on the bench today. We’ve got to remember he’s only 22 and did have some pedigree when he signed for us, having broken through in the Bundesliga at a young age. I really don’t think many of us have seen anywhere near enough of him to make a proper judgement. He’s only played 6 games for us (all from the bench). If he’s here we’d be daft not to at least give him a chance. It clicks for different players at different times and you just never know.
  4. Buzzing if that ‘leaked team’ is true, as others have said it’s our strongest team out of who is fit and not far off our strongest team regardless of injuries. Can’t wait to see O’Brien, Hackney and McGree in the same side.
  5. I disagree we need a rebuilding job at all. Thomas and Ayling are here as stop gaps whilst Bangura and Smith are out, and if either exceed expectations both players should be within our reach in the Summer anyway. If Bangura and Smith were fit, we wouldn’t have signed them. McNair doesn’t really need replacing, as we have four good centre backs already and his minutes will be limited this second half of the season regardless. Rogers has been replaced by Azaz and plays in a position we already have depth in, with Azaz, McGree, Crooks and Gilbert (who will have another half a year
  6. On Langstaff - Jordan Rhodes was always ‘just a goalscorer’ who did well in the championship for a number of seasons and got us some vital goals in the run in to our promotion season. Ultimately we’ve paid a decent amount of money for Latte Lath who is very much viewed as our first choice striker and will only get better. I honestly think what we need is a Rhodes/Langstaff type who can come off the bench and nick one, which I think is what the club is going for especially with the Devante Cole rumours. As nice as it is to see us sign exciting players with potential sometimes yo
  7. Loan or permanent I wonder
  8. Please could someone link the tweets where he says it’s a burnley player
  9. Agree - Kavanagh going out surely means we have someone coming in, as he is our third choice striker.
  10. …..but he is at Rockliffe?!? 🤞🤞😂😂
  11. What’s he posted please mate
  12. I reckon it’s Stanfield.
  13. Because why would we need 3 first team left backs?
  14. Bodes well for us then if he does impress.
  15. If he does really well and we do want him permanently I think we might look to move Bangura on in the summer.
  16. Wages a potential issue if he has only ever played PL ?
  17. Is it a loan or permanent?
  18. Agree with some of the other posts - we should definitely be asking the question of Villa. I think paying £10-12mil for Archer in the summer would be great business and would actually still fit with our model, because I think his ceiling is absolutely huge and he will be a £50mil striker one day.
  19. South Korea have just finished second in their group and are now in the same side of the draw as Australia in the Asian Cup. If they both win their RO16 game, they will face eachother on the 2nd Feb. South Korea are ranked higher than Australia in the FIFA rankings, so we could potentially see an early(ish) exit for McGree and Silvera at that stage, which would mean they should be back for the game after Sunderland, Bristol City on the 10th. Obviously hope they go all the way though as it’d be great for them as players.
  20. Hadn’t realised how much Diallo had cost Man Utd - having read other comments I think it seems it really is one of those ‘too good to miss out on’ signings, regardless of the longer term plan.
  21. I really don’t understand the Diallo signing at all… I don’t think we’ve got much of a chance at promotion this season so it would surely make more sense to make permanent signings that can grow with the team, or give game time to our current attacking players, rather than spend a decent amount of the wage budget on someone who will only be here for 4 months and leave us in the Summer just like Archer and others last year, leaving us once again needing a replacement? Rogers is just hitting form and we’ve signed Azaz, who will both be here next season and I’d rather see them play and impro
  22. I wonder if there’s a Villa buy back clause in Ramsey’s contract at Burnley if they go down, which is looking likely, and they can get around it by doing some sort of loan to buy deal with us that allows them to recoup more money than they’d be getting from Villa? Not sure how that would work practically but it could be something like that.
  23. I think that’s unfair on Greenwood - like the other players in the squad he’s been playing almost every game with very little rest, and did have a decent run of form but has gotten worse during a period where the whole team have been inconsistent. In an ideal world he would have been dropped from the starting XI and given a rest in the hope that his form might pick up again. Unfortunately due to the number of injuries he’s had to play through a bad run of form which isn’t easy for any player. When we signed Greenwood if you’d have told me he’d have 5 goals by Christmas I’d have said he’d
  24. In my opinion signing Ramsey on loan would just be repeating the mistakes of last season. We’re unlikely to make the playoffs and even more unlikely to get promoted this season, so I’d rather give Rogers and others the opportunity to play games and improve rather than sign a player on loan who will prevent them from progressing. If there’s a permanent option in there then it’s different story.
