If the club were going to leak wrong information purposely to flush out ITK sources, would they really leak something like this?
Would they want the fans to think we’d signed this brilliant striker for big money? Wouldn’t they be more likely to leak something slightly less exciting that people wouldn’t be bothered about happening either way?
All they’ve done is raise fan expectations and added more pressure to themselves, if that is the case

Ejaria and Onomah would suit , but Onomah is on £30k pw so that rules him out.
Would also take Onomah’s teammate and former Boro player Nathaniel Chalobah, looks like he dropped out of Fulham’s team towards the back end of last season and they’ve signed 2 centre mids already this window

Sorry for not replying to everyone and been a little bit short.
Hoppe visited back end of last week but we have pushed onto other targets atm bit we may revisit
Any idea why the Echo etc. haven’t picked up on the Larsen deal? Is it a case of the club wanting this one kept quiet to avoid competition?

When was the last time we made a permanent signing that hadn’t been reported in the mainstream media before being announced?? Would love this to be true like!

I’m waiting for digger lad to come back on and say “sorry lads that was meant to say Hoppee, got mixed up”

Based on what I’ve seen Bournemouth would have been better off getting Giles in at LWB than Tav. Every Boro fan knows Tav is a brilliant centre midfielder but can go missing on the wing.

I think Chuba could stay and Coburn on loan.
1.
2. Muniz
3. Forss
4. Chuba
5. Watmore
Would love Armstrong or Gyokores as no.1 and happy to wait until 1st September as if Muniz comes this week then them 4 above should hopefully see us theough the next month
Hoppee will be in place of Chuba/Watmore

RAF said Muniz Armstrong and Archer had all already agreed to come their clubs just need replacements
I wonder which of these won’t be happening then if we get Forss and Hoppee? Maybe one or two have been told they’ll be staying at their clubs?

Just a question should we accept that the Muniz story is a non starter?
If we want 4 strikers it could end up being Muniz, Forss, Hoppee, and then an attempt for a bigger name later in the window (Armstrong or equivalent)

Watford and Birmingham interested in Krystian Bielik - would be perfect for us in the DM role although he does come with massive fitness doubts
-
I hope we’ve at least got Ben Pearson as part of the deal as we were rumoured to be wanting. Kieffer Moore would also be decent
-
Think I read Southampton wanted 2 strikers to let Armstrong go, as they have to replace him and Broja.

Should tav leave (which he is) the club want to replace him with James Garner from man united.
He will 100% be playing regularly in the Premier League this year

I wonder if we’re planning for two scenarios. Forss for if Tav stays, Gyokeres for if Tav leaves as we’d have significantly more money in play.
Say the Spence and Tav sales combined bring in 30m we could probably justify spending 10m on Gyokeres if he’s our number one target.
The issue with that is we don’t know if and when Tav will leave. He might leave in 3 weeks time, by which point Forss will have gone elsewhere and we may not have enough time to strike a deal for Gyokeres. If that is our thinking it’s a high risk , high reward game we’re playing. We’re doing similar with Armstrong / Muniz as who knows when Southampton and Fulham will sign their strikers.
If we bring in Armstrong/Gyokeres towards the back end of the window 7 games might already have been played and then they’ll need time to bed in, that’s potentially a quarter of the season gone before they’ve found their feet.

So you’re saying we’re going to end up with a whole load of strikers on loan who we will need to replace again next summer. Great new recruitment model this isn’t it?
Add another keeper to that once Steffen goes and unless we go up we’ll practically be in the same position we are this summer.

Would people be happy with, say, £12m plus Pearson for Tav? As far as I know Pearson is a pretty decent player?

1 deal all but agreed whoever posted a while back that WhatsApp was bang on with Brentford lad has been agreed a while, that’s why it’s moving so quickly. Another transfer might get moving a lot quicker now also, as well as a loan deal ( when club get back)
Given that the lad was right on Forss, have you heard anything on Archer?

Starting XI for West Brom?:
Steffen
Jones
Dijksteel
Fry
Lenihan
Giles
Howson
Crooks
Tavernier
Forss
Watmore
Looks good enough for the first match of the season?

Another quote from the Forss article…
”
Middlesbrough are desperate for striking reinforcements as they attempt to replace last season’s loan stars Aaron Connolly, Folarin Balogun, and Andraz Sporar.

It's only 5m if we get promoted and includes wages. But it will cost 5m if we are promoted
Is this inside info or speculating mate?
-
Most people would question us if we’d spent £5m for Muniz on a permanent, nevermind a loan. Has to be rubbish.
-
We could probably buy 2 permanent strikers for less than £10m that would be just as good
-
If we seriously spend the Spence money on 2 loan players then our recruitment is worse than I thought. Thankfully I don’t believe it.

If Kieran Scott had done a video like that last week, about Tavernier’s move to Bournemouth, what would everyone think?
I know what the consensus on here would be: ‘The club are just trying to make it out that they did everything they could to convince him to stay so that the fans don’t get on their backs, and they’re preparing us for the worst.’
Infact, that’s been the exact response I’ve seen to the some gazette articles about Tav.
I think he’s ours and this is pure PR/preparation from his current club.
