I doubt anybody is saying let’s not sign a left wing back in case Coulson comes good, that’s definitely not what I’m saying. Left wing back is absolutely a priority area to sign someone for the first 11. I’m just not for writing him off. I’m not keen on Bola at wing back, he did well at left back but I’ve not been convinced by him at wing back. I’m saying give him a chance to compete with Bola for the back up role. I’m not convinced Bola is going to be here in the long term either, maybe both will be gone by the end of august.

Well I thought he was good under Woodgate and at the time most people seemed to like him. He then got frozen out by Warnock pretty much instantly, then thrown under the bus a few times totally out of position (right wing) then shipped out on loan. I’ve not watched him at all for anyone else and clearly it’s not worked. Based on what I have seen I think he’s a decent player but he’s had a lot of injury issues so I’m not optimistic he will ever make it for us. But I’d like him to.

Well what about all the strikers who don’t even make it onto the chart? im not sure just being low down means that either as at least he’s getting shots in compared to the guys over to the left. but clearly he is too low down and Watmore is too far left. wonder what Piroe would cost, too much I suspect.

Yes I think I’d prefer them to go up as if they don’t I think they will be very strong next season.

Preston vs Boro 4-1 (Tavernier)

I guess seeing as that happened against Swansea then that absolutely proves the first goal is always irrelevant. If we’d been gifted a lucky first goal there is absolutely no way we wouldn’t have still lost. -

I think I said it may have been different right, I didn’t actually assert anything did I? When we score first our record is very good. Psychologically of course it would have changed the game for both teams. We may have relaxed and played well. Who knows but it “may” have been different. -

Would it? We tend to do well when we score first. -

I agree but if we’d been gifted the first goal like they were our match may have been very different. -

Probably not but three teams go up and he may be able to take one of the spots. I’m sure we will improve on this season but whether it’s enough for promotion we will have to wait and see. -

Very weird take on things this. So you don’t think Wilder has really made any difference? -

No idea but I would hazard a guess that Wilder has a far better % of promotion divided by seasons managed in the championship. -

He managed for 300 years so of course he had some success. Wilder has had success in significantly less years. warnock also had 100% relegation from the premier league record. -

I know it’s an emotional day but some truly ridiculous posts here about how Wilder has failed. He’s improved us clearly and we’ve ended up missing out on the last day. Something that would definitely not have happened if we’d stuck with the previous manager. there’s no doubt there are problems with him, I am definitely concerned he’s so utterly incapable of even considering a different system, it makes him look very basic. But we need to give him the summer and see how we do next season.
