  1. Exactly how I am feeling. We are in dreadful form if we go back into end of last season when the wheels came off ... I don't want to see it go the way we fear, love Carrick and loved the relentless style he instilled in us from the get go .. but something happened towards tail end of last season when it mattered. My guess is likely burn out, but God knows For some reason I have a feeling we will get a surprising result on Saturday, dunno why. But most will see us losing that, even a draw ... 2 points from 12 is a dreadful start I hope some more experience comes through the door as w
  2. That's the way to put an end to a bit o' footy gossip ha ha ha Most entertaining post I have seen all window Class
  3. Good grief. I had forgotten we actually paid £3m for Hoppe. Was never gonna work out here for him, and don't think we will see him in a Boro shirt again after that loan if it is definately happening. I am worried about our team going into Saturday. That the transfer window is still open as the season starts is a right fker. We need far better up front and worried we're struggling in the window but it's not like that is anything we are not used to. I like that we are interested in Stewart but it's his injuries that are the only thing, it's a concern. We will be waiting some time for
  4. Crikey, so do I. Didn't a poster a few pages back say yesterday that our business for the season is done?? Whoever it was I am sure has posted information that's 'ITK' before, so I was hoping he was just joking. Literally all they said was something along lines of 'That's us done for the Summer' or something along those lines. Appears we really are done with signings, then?? Even if Chuba stays, we are going to be in for a struggle this season. Just my gut feeling, especially after the injury to Smith which didn't look good at all. I am praying these younger/development players tha
  5. Christ, how stupid am I. I thought we were posting in the transfer thread when I first read the Delli post 😆😆 I commented about getting back to transfers = 'Colin *** pulling teeth' at end of a post and just realised now we're in None Boro Footy ... Was wondering why posts were going slow! haha never mind. Silly billy I am.
  6. Perhaps he is .. as I say I aren't sure where is best or who is best for his current state of mind and fragility in terms of confidence. Dyche it could well be .. I just hope where ever he goes it works out and he plays at a good level again, and all is not lost from this blip. I will leave it at that, don't want to hogg the thread on Delli Ali's issues but it is upsetting, which is the reason I quoted the dude earlier Best of luck to him as I said
  7. 🙂 .. Haha yeah .. Dyche would finish him I think in his current state. It would be nice if he can get a good club with good facilities to work on his mental health and substance issues to just train with, get back up to his best. He'd be more than welcome at MFC. Could make his dramatic comeback here 😆Pay as you play basis. Nah kidding. God knows where he goes next but it's clear he needs a hell of a lot of work doing, so I have no idea of what his level could be, currently if he is able to play and has the addictions/etc under control Be interesting to see how he gets on. Anyw
  8. Brought me to tears watching it. I know we're all responsible for our choices but sometimes we all have vulnerable stages like Delle has, you can be sucked in and things become a problem .. the tablet use, using associates of old within his old community to get what he wanted ... that is a serious fall from grace for whom was a gem of a talent. What upset me most was seeing how fragile that lad is. You can see the lack of confidence glaring from him IMO, and I hope he finds someone to work with on that to get him back to a level we know he is capable of. I never realised he was such a sensitiv
  9. As encouraging as the signing of the likes of van den Berg are, they fit the model we aspire to now for sure and I am liking what I see. Interesting, very excited to see how he gets on in a Boro shirt ... I can't help but be worried about still being weakened significantly with no Giles, Archer, Ramsey ... (and there is even still the very strong chance we will be selling on Chuba to finance our other deals??) so I hope we have plans there too. I trust the club has targets. Giles and Archer were so crucial in our play so it will be interesting to see how the starting eleven look come the
  10. Fair one. Just catching up on posts haven't read thread for a good few days. Cheers
  11. Agree ... he's just a kid, man. All I would be ar5ed about is what he can do on the pitch and I would trust Carrick to be good for his development. Anything I have seen so far after googling his name ... nothing bothers me. Are we actually after him, or is he just a rumoured target
  12. Steffen's operation or whatever work has been done, looks bad and could be out a while through Summer?? Not good if we are looking to recall him ... got impression other day that Carrick is going to take a look at Brynn and tbh didn't ever see Steffen returning if we failed to go up .. which we did What I am more interested in is hearing if there is actually work going on to bring Archer back here. Or if it is BS .. probably the latter I could never see a way we could bring Archer back if we didn't go up, given how impressive he clearly was for us and is available again to rivals w
  13. I am probably in a minority and hate to say it, but I despair at seeing that line-up tonight. Given how ambitious we set out to be post-Warnock, with Wilder appointed and better signings expected to be made to compete for promotion (seems like a joke saying that now) ... the squad just appears miles weaker and I think Carrick has a hell of a job on his hands keeping us up. If we don't get three points tonight I would start to worry. The likes of Jones, Dijksteel and Fry used to look right up there with the best in the league but I reckon Wilder just beaten the confidence right out
  14. Good grief. 'Snubbed' by Alex Bruce Is this how far we have fallen 🤣🤣 ... I hope Alex Bruce is not the whole reason this has taken a bit of time to get this over the line .. I was encouraged by the thought of appointing Carrick as I thought he would bring Muelentseen and Phelan with him, who have bags of experience working at the highest level with world class players .. albeit during a rough time with Utd There has been an odd silence out and about today re; Carrick and people are posting silly rumours already, that they've heard things today that he's having second thoughts
  15. That is precisely the thing. Gibson as a Chairman knows how crucial it is we stay in this division at the very least as going down would be a disaster for the club. He knows what happened when we appointed Woodgate, and just doing the same thing, only even worse, choice-wise (arguably), is hardly going to be great for 'bums on seats' for a start, and the likely outcome is that fans will be giving up hope should we appoint Cattermole. Nothing against Lee as a lad, I actually met him on a few occasions back when he was very young and playing for us ... I remember his volley vs Man Utd and
  16. Actually like the look of that side. If we were to set up like that tonight I would be happy .. that team is capable of 3 points with a good backing from the crowd and Leo behind them on the touchline .. I'd be encouraged Only part that concerns me is Clarke .. He had a decent debut for us but since, he's been dire. But the whole team have tbf .. also as someone else pointed out, Roberts in goal wouldn't be a surprise. I have a feeling he may well start .. Can only see what happens, still going with 2-1 for tonight. Muniz & Watmore 👍
  17. As a poster mentioned, tomorrow's game should speak volumes with their reaction to Wilder being sacked, the team selection and how they play for Leo too .. whatever was going on behind the scenes stagnated and glad it's been nipped in the bud ... I expect to see the likes of Fry play their skin out tomorrow .. shame Jones hass to miss the game I expect to see them play with freedom and passion tomorrow, there's still enough there to do damage to most sides in the league in most positions bar our MF, we should be able to beat Birmingham and work out a side to achieve that. Would be n

    Wilder Rumour

That's fair enough. I do agree it is on him. Perhaps I laid into the players more than I should have on hindsight, but I want a squad that feels their manager believes in them all 100% and as I said I don't get that feeling and that started towards the end of last season before we brought the new additions in. I guess we will know within a game or two how it's gonna play out re; Wilder, as it stands I really think lose the upcoming league game .. it is difficult to see how this team continues with CW as their gaffer. There's got to be a hidden gem out there that is a better fi

    Wilder Rumour

I know it isn't all Wilder's fault, our players are just not good enough for what was in Wilder's 'mid-to-long-term' vision when we appointed him None of it has worked out so far and recruitment is still an absolute joke But kinda disappointed the Bournemouth rumours aren't true. I just don't like the bloke. Since we de-railed last season and the Burnley flirtation, I can't bring myself to really trust him. To go from what he said when we appointed him to the things he has been saying post-match after woeful recent performances, well, that optimism has deteriorated quickly 🤣
  20. I just seen Wilder's 'level of expectation I don't understand' quote in his interview from last night on ITV news ... he is right, to be fair - but things have clearly deteriorated in terms of his enthusiasm and vision for us going forwards. Had he said that on the weekend he walked in and replaced Warnock, I am sure the fans would have been thrilled. He didn't come here to remind the fans that we're just a lower-half Championship club after another sh1te performance. I think he is as good as done here, I wouldn't even be surprised to hear he's walked before Rotherham at the weekend.
  21. Haven't read through much of the rest of this thread, but surely he will be ... After seeing that first half last night, it was absolutely obvious something is not right. And not just as in we played shockingly bad, I have not felt Wilder is genuinely happy here. This is since we de-railed last season and there was the flirtation with Burnley I am not sure who's fault it is, in a way I can't blame Wilder ... I don't feel he has any belief in the players we have recruited, the transfer window which appeared to start well by getting in Steffen, Giles, Lenihan (who has been poor despi
  22. This is what has irked me but tried my best to not be critical of That we have spent over five million on those two players is an absolute joke I don't feel Wilder has any real connection with this squad at all I wouldn't be bothered if he walked, I don't think I could blame him either, to be entirely honest. Our main signing was a Warnock target we missed out on last Summer
  23. Honestly, wouldn't surprise me at all I aren't sure what it is but I just don't get the impression he is really happy here but it is just my opinion. It's been like that since the Burnley carry on last season, my gut feeling is that way, and our record going back over since our form de-railed completely last season, it is woeful reading ... things are still just as bad There are very encouraging signs on the other hand from the likes of Giles and Muniz .. but imagine an injury to either or God forbid, both .. there's not enough quality across the pitch and in depth to get particularl
  24. If they score first it's going to be difficult. As a poster said further up, 1-3 Sunderland win is what I predict too. Sorry, just don't fancy our chances and think we're in for a poor season overall. I hope this post makes me look a fool come end of the season but seriously, the squad is just not up to scratch for me. What started off as a great window bringing in the likes of Giles/Steffen, ended with a whimper and we're going to miss Tav a lot I am not expecting much at all this season. Nor do I believe Wilder will still be here come this time next year.
