  1. At the moment McDonald is producing the goods by getting key goals so I'd be happy for us to tollerate his 32k a week but if a team comes in for him in January that is a good deal for the club to give him flexibility in the transfer market then I think the same as Zhimai as I'd trust Mowbray's judgement on signing a replacement who's equally as good and even probably better given Mowbrays ability at spotting quality players.
  2. He's got some crucial goals for us and I'd rather us not sell him given how important he has bee for us so far this season but I see having a player of his ability, decent but nothing spectacular, on his huge wages as not value for money given you can get better players for a fraction of his wages and transfer fee.
  3. I don't want to sound pedantic but if a transfer is considered decent business then that takes into account the transfer fee and wages. As Haroun on a free would be considered good business but if he was signed for £3.5 million and £35,000 a week then that would be poor business regardless of him being a decent player. I like McDonald as a player its just I wouldn't consider him to be decent business taking into account his transfer fee, wages and contract length.
  4. £1.4 million then. It's still expensive IMO.
  5. They're decent players compared to the rest of his signings but I still think we payed way over the odds for them, especially McDonald who is on the wage of 3 player.
  6. Skippy and Bailey definately weren't decent business IMO. Didn't Skippy cost £3.5 million and Bailey £1.4(edited) million, plus all the wages on top £35-40,000 a week for skippy and at a total guess Bailey £15,000 a week. Especially when you consider the signings of Friend(£100,000),Leabitter(free), Haroun(free), Carayol(£300,000), Woodgate(free) and Ledesma(free). Most of which will most likely be less than £10,000. With only Woogate and Leadbitter the only ones on closer to £15,000.
  7. Is there any news of us trying to extend Halliday's current deal seen as it runs out in the summer?.
  8. Noooo..... Carayol is much faster than Emnes. Mowbray even said in an interview a few months back that we've got some players with pace like Emnes but Carayol has turbo-pace or some other word like that to describe him. When we get Carayol fit then he'll tear this league to pieces as there are so many poor full backs that wouldn't stand a chance against his pace and trickery, Bradley Orr is probably still having nightmares about him.
  9. Just won £20.20 on the ***nal result. Not bad from a daft 20p bet!.
  10. I'd be happy enough to lose one or both of Bailey and Thomson in January aslong as Mowbray has replacements lined up that are more his type of player and aren't constantly injured like Thomson.
  11. I've already given up hope of signing Downing in January because there will be far too much competition and his wages are rediculous. I'd much rather us focus on picking up the gems from the lower leagues and young hungry Premier league loans that have worked really well for us so far.
  12. Its always the fans/mangers that say the league is average are the ones struggling. If it was that average then surely it should be a walk in the park for them.
  13. I enjoy being in the Championship because every game is comptetitive and no result is guaranteed regardless if your top or bottom. When we were in the Premier League I hated when we were away to the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea etc where I knew we had no chance so it was almost like a guaranteed defeat even before we'd turned up. But half of that was probably down to having a useless manager.

The most bitter away fan thats came on here. I don't blame him really, I'd be bitter if I supported a grabage football team thats heading to League 1. I like how he fails to mention we created the most clear cut chances and could have been 2-0 up if Williams and McDonald took their chances early on.
  15. I like Lita, he worked hard and scored us a lot of goals. As much as Miller has ruined my opinion of him yesterday I'd still have him over Lita purely because Lita and McDonald are very similar players so I would rather have a big powerful striker like Miller to give Mowbray different options.

Coming it to this season it looked like it was going to the toughest the league has ever been but a huge number of the teams that were built up to be contenders have failed to deliver. Look at Sheff Wed(debatably), Wolves, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Bolton, Leeds and Blackpool who the majority of people would have seen as threats to us but so far haven't show much to make teams fear them. Other than Sako they shown absolutely no threat going forward, their CM's had the instinct's of defenders and their strikers Doyle and SEB didn't get a sniff at goal because Hines and Woodgate had them
  17. Yeah for a few months still I think.
  18. I think Bikey would be a liablility in this game because it has a record for players being rash and getting red cards so I'd go for someone with a cool head like Hines whos been brilliant lately instead of Bikey.

I find it so funny that the relegated teams(Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves) came into this season think the Championship would be a walk in the park yet the sit in 13th, 15th and 18th in the league. It must be the worst relegated teams have ever done.
  20. This was earmarked as his potential earliest comeback date a few weeks ago so he must have a chance but it would be a very tough physical game for his first game back. Plus I dont see any reason to drop Hines and Woodgate, given they're fit.
  21. There is very little similarity between lita and miller. Lita is a fast, clinical, off the last man striker, miller is a big target peeling off wide to get flicks etc striker. I think the similarity he was making was to use him as a super sub because hes not good enough to hold down a first team spot.
  22. Yeah just less clinical but with much more power in his stride. If only we could morph Miller and Juke. That would be a beast of a player....
  23. I've seen far harsher decisions with less of a fuss made. Look at our games v Derby and Leicester where clear offside goals where given against us.
  24. Oh yeah I totally forgot about McManus for a minute there. Hopefully we can get Halliday and Ripley on new deals as they have shown enough potential IMO, especially Halliday.
  25. I doubt we will offer him a new contract untill the end of the season as there is so much that can change in that time, namely promotion. If McEachran gets recalled in January I would be gutted as that would batter our promotion hopes.
