  1. It could be a rebellious son who went off the rails and only plays fluid attacking football although his 1-0-9 formation has mixed results. Sounds intriguing....But I am a TP fanboy through and through. Can't wait for till the gaffer can get his players and setup his revolutionary Formation for the world to see, people may laugh now ... but Time will judge the man, I sure believe he believes this will come good. **Disclaimer** since TP has become my gaffer I seem to only communicate with sarcasm. Otherwise I might blow my bloody head off........
  2. https://media.giphy.com/media/AFT2Xgv1gQHhS/giphy.gif Ah....The Future!
  3. Keeping him isn't writing the season off...? We scraped what was it, 2 wins, 1, in December during an easy run of fixtures? His few remaining supporters will get a shock when we play the likes of WBA and Leeds in the next few weeks, considering we cannot even keep clean sheets against bottom half sides anymore despite setting up more negatively than ever. The season is over for me but I think in Gibson's head he'll be clinging on to the hope that we scrape into the playoffs and go up that way. I would sack him now and try and sell half a dozen players to balance the books. That would give a new manager a better starting point in the summer. and what a fool he is, given our current league position.... :eggplant: I think we are mistaking the Accountant's Hopeful Positive Balance Sheet for Football. we either treat Boro as a Football Club or Boro as a cold profit/loss making business. I know which one I fell in love with.
  4. That sure sounds familiar... It can also make one wonder on all this talk about a disappointing Summer Transfer Window and how none of TP's preferred targets wanted to sign unless on a massively inflated contract considering the utter joy they would have to endure playing under him and his worldclass catenaccio. The club probably didn't want to back TP come what may and pay the wages. That whole Strachan thing might have brought up a few things. Now TP is on the horn in the press taking credit for making the club $30 million in the summer, looks like he wants his summer transfer promise fulfilled in January. Goodness knows what will happen if he doesn't end up signing his preferred targets.

  6. This video of West Brom fans reacting to Tony Pulis's sacking. Everyone of them just echo our current statements to a T I have transcribed a couple of them "Why would he play a Striker on the Wing?" "When we played football we defended all the while and it wasn't nice to watch, after paying all the money like" or my favorite "Hes done a good job the first year(keeping them in the PL), but he is too set in his ways to change. But he(TP) has done the job the board brought him to do when they first put him onboard (Avoid PL relegation). Hes(TP) had his sell by date, they' (opposition) have got used to the football we play. We can't defend no more, which was how our game was built on. We got no one in midfield who works with each other and obviously we can't score goals."
  7. Pulis wants his wingers or attacking players cause he can recreate his successful blueprint from his West Brom team. watch it then tell me you will be excited when he builds that at boro, its not like West Brom are competing for europe under that system once it turned stale and he left...Even the best case scenario is halfbaked and undercooked.
  8. Tbh this matches exactly what a wba fan said, he said when things don’t go to plan he plays even more negative than you ever thought possible And why would he change it has always brought him success in the PL for all those successful years (Manager of the Year) and having never been relegated and all. But sadly we have found out to our displeasure this TP success formula only works in the delicate scenario of wanting to aviod PL relegation, all be it at the cost of entertainment or some might say 'football' but then again riches of the PL is so much more than just Football. That all said We seem to have overlooked/underestimated the Promotion part of the equation hoping that the second division football hadn't changed much since TP last won promotion in 2007. I mean it worked for the Italians they've only won 4 world cups. George Burley and Alan Pardew won manager of the year too, Roberto De Mateo achieved promotion with West Bromwich - all playing a more entertaining brand than Pulis but would anyone have them here? I don't care what Pulis has achieved in the past - it's what he's dishing up here and to compare his style of Football with Italy - well I don't know whether to laugh or cry I whole heartedly agree with you, sometimes my sarcasm gets lost in translation :P
  9. The best statement I've heard that encapsulates the years since PL relegation with GS (barring the TM years I suppose). Its high time we leave the boring boro label behind.

  11. I second your thoughts mate, would take AK back if it were a shout between him and TP. However I would love to keep with our tradition and appoint a young aspiring coach to help reset the current defensive blueprint and help restart a more attacking one with our academy being more integrated with the 1st team.
  12. Found an interesting post match analysis video of a West Brom game from April this year, Dominic Matteo throws in some hard truths about TP's training methods before he left WB and the failed transition under Pardew. TP functional 6 man defensive block system meant Training was methodical and structured with emphasis on results (i.e., 40 point target) and when results don't go his way He simply doubles down and training under that atmosphere would be very functional with any element of fun and creativity removed root and stem at the training ground in favor of an effective functional Catenaccio featuring a 6 man defensive block and a 4 man attack**, (the italians won 4 world cups with it so it must work). His constant groans about wingers are simply to get this system to work at Boro, where at west brom he had Chadli and Philipps chase long balls in behind and force a throw-in or a corner, so TP can unleash a master set-piece play from his secret Italian Set-Piece Play book that always brings in the Goals. Knowing well that its hard to teach an old dog new tricks, don't see it going any other way than what Stoke and West Brom had to endure, and all the work that comes with the eventual rebuild once TP leaves. And here I thought the Strachan era was a one off........
  13. I notice the tense used is always "you", I presume you mean you Boro supporters. The arrogant notion that 5 people in a forum represent the entire opinion of Boro supporters. Also, you can't class yourselves as a supporter when all you do is criticise. Definition of supporter : one that supports You must be right, it is in the dictionary. I'll go back to only praising my drunk uncle who is trying to ruin the barbecue from now on.
  14. Would love the club to take a risk and go for someone like Neville for the reasons you mentioned, however they will go for the safe option again, it will be Bruce or Big Sam in next If it's Big Sam in next, I'll be taking a break from football. I honestly couldn't think of a more backwards appointment if Pulis fails. You might not be alone on that one.
  15. All things considered TP could be having a right ol laugh when he thinks back about all the polarity his football created. The art of playing Football without the Football... The art of getting 3 points without playing for 3 points ... The art of being offensive by being defensive....
  16. Could be an interesting game, any overseas viewer on here know if it is on istream boro ? cause after I logged in, its asking me to re-buy my subscription again (I previously ended up paying for it twice - but I dont wanna pay the 3rd time I dont love SG that much :P). It is there and I am watching now. Just log out and back in .. And refresh the site. If nothing works, delete cookies, then try again ;) Hope you will find a way! Worked little a Charm, thanks mate. 18. Good job from the lads, 3 points in the bag, back to second in the table, Tav starts and gets a goal. Long may it continue.
  19. Randolf has to be one of the most under-rated goalies in the FL, Not flashy ... but when called on is ever safe.
  20. Bees trying to get the ball forward into the box more, our def is coping well, mind
  21. Almost scored off a Set-play, Hugill got a nice looping header just off target.
  22. I must say I am quietly excited with our season so far. Best Defensive record in the FL has us second. We look well drilled and once we start sorting out the final third we could be in line to pull clear of the pack. Leeds are starting to show signs of the historical Bielsa Fatigue Syndrome, along with a well timed goalkeeping crisis their 2nd half of the season is starting to show promise. Then again talks about Tom Heaton signing on an emergency and rumors linking Jan targets like Llorente are worrying if true. Sheffield Utd and West Brom are starting to normalize their inconsistencies with their recent run of form, long may that continue. And also hold to serve as an example to the rest of the promotion pack to emulate. Hopefully the positive vibes from coming from TP on Braithwaite in training and his(MB) recent show of commitment leads to some assists and goals in the coming weeks. If he can match his early season form we'd have an in house solution to our recent attacking problems. Brentford should be interesting viewing on Sat, Their counter-pressing possession style at home could play into our hands, then again TP will be looking to stifle their attacking threat early on, and we could get good counter attacking opportunities. I'd take a one nil but would mind a 2-1 neither 3 points the charm :).
