Funny seeing their fans call for Howson to get punishment for his reaction. Initially I thought Howson was conning the ref on purpose but he doesn’t even see Sainz make the contact, just feels studs hit his thigh. Pretty understandable for him to think it was an intentional kick out at him and appeal to the ref on those grounds.

BORO v Norwich 3-1 (Forss, Latte Lath, Engel)

We'll never know what would have happened if it stayed 11v11 but if those first 30 minutes were anything to go by we were in for another deflating game. Still, we desperately needed a win and we got that. Hopefully we can kick on a bit now and improve our performance levels. utfb -
Stoke v Boro 2-0

The last two games have been especially poor and concerning, agreed. But this is where Carrick proves his worth and he finds a way to grind out some points to get us going again. Maybe that's beyond him but to be honest I don't think it is - after all, he managed it last time we found ourselves in a rut. Perhaps a good question is why have we had such extreme runs of form this season, two very bad and one very good? Maybe fans are close to a revolt, I don't know, fans are fickle and I wish they weren't. There were people calling for Carrick's head at the start of the season but then thin -

Hahah, I just looked at the table and as it stands we'd only need to finish the season on 50 points to retain our championship status. We're laughing. Utfb -
Stoke v Boro 2-0

Stoke may well catch us, sure, but it's not just the six points. There's also seven teams (eight including Stoke) that stand in the way of us and the drop zone. So, you'd need all those 7/8 teams to pick up points at a higher rate than us over the remainder of the season. Not impossible but pretty unlikely - if it does happen then we have catastrophically imploded. We probably need 9 points to absolutely guarantee survival but based on the current table, we'd only need 6. 6-9 points from 12 games, I mean come on now. -

I don't think the players look like they've stopped playing for him. They more look like they have no confidence and have a real mental frailty. What's concerning me most is that the Plymouth game and the second half of this game in particular we have been absolutely dreadful, very few if any positives to take from either. Carrick needs to prove his worth as a manager and once again get us out of a rut. It would take an insanely bad final 12 games for us to get relegated. Six points off yes, but seven teams between us and 22nd plus we have a game in hand. I'm not saying it can't happen b -
I've accepted we're probably going to lose Hackney but I hadn't actually thought about the chance we could lose Jones. I hope not as I really rate him - even if he can frustrate I always feel better when I see him in the starting XI than when he's out.

Far too early to say with any real conviction but I have faith we’ll at least be challenging for playoffs next season

Boro v Plymouth 0-2

Hahah typical in that we’re losing to a side we should be beating at home yes Not typical in that normally we muster some sort of sustained pressure but there’s been none of that today -

Really bad performance. All the defensive frailties of our worst performances this season with none of our good attacking play. -

https://x.com/rf08/status/1759677429642142135?s=46&t=4DgbJJ4X4j-daufqrlAhlw it’s almost as if collective action is more effective than apathetic paralysis

Why do you think it’s a stupid idea, DZ?
-
This is a first step. They say right there in the statement that they will escalate action if Saturday’s protest achieves nothing. I’d be astonished if the club budge after Saturday so I’m interested to see what RF will follow up with.

Good on them. Hopefully a fair few others will join in too.

Don’t need next season’s. Point is we’re already starting at a much higher price point compared to most clubs.
-
Pathetic. Quite conveniently ignores our pricing in context with other clubs.
-
Game’s gone. I see so much fan discontent and disillusionment not just with pricing but with the broader context of the game and it makes me wonder how much popular appetite there’d be for an alternative football league setup. One that is regulated with an even distribution of resources, strict caps on prices to ensure football clubs remain cornerstones of their respective communities, that kinda thing. That’d be a football league system I could get behind. The one we have is a pile of ***.

Bruce's Villa beat us in the playoffs, which is somehow worse

Deserved loss for that embarrassing first half. Get me into 24/25 -
They've shown real ambition this Jan to be fair to them. I'm not quite sure why given the strong top 4 but they must see themselves as in with a decent shout.
-
Last January it made sense to make ambitious signings to bolster our playoff push. This January, not so much. Another striker would've been nice but there was no point in making a rushed signing given the context. I imagine we'll show decent ambition with our transfer market activity in summer if Carrick stays.

Happened for a bit during our poor start to the season and, despite some fear-mongering by some ITKs on here, things never actually seemed to be that bad behind the scenes. Notice that as soon as our results picked up those same ITKs stopped their posts suggesting there were issues at the club. Funny that. Not ideal but not necessarily a sign that things are hugely wrong either. Once again, *** you Hugill. I know he didn’t mean to injure him and 99/100 that shove leads to nothing but he can still *** off.
