  1. So I just looked at the stats and correct me if I'm wrong but: Traore - Boro Games = 65 Goals = 5 Tavernier - Boro 1st team Games = 18 Goals = 5 Don't get me wrong, I loved watching Traore dribble around the opposition and speed off up the pitch, but his end product was a bit lacking. Tavernier is the future. Oh and look at how well Fry has done since Gibson left. We need to focus on bringing Academy players through. Now if you asked if I would want Stuani back, that's a totally different question, he, he.
  2. Let's be honest fans want to see Traore play. I'm sure he has an impact on attendances. He brings an unpredictability and excitement to the game that makes it entertaining and worth turning up for. That's something that's very hard to buy. I daren't think of how miserable it would be if we sold him and our recruitment ended up bringing in the equivalent of fletcher, baker or even worse we blow the money on an Afonso Alves.
  3. It doesn't matter what happens on Monday, we're down. 6 point weekend and we are back in it. (For future reference if we do find the miracle this is my told you so post) BTW does anyone know what W means when you see W D and L. I think it's an abbreviation of the acronym WTF.
  4. We are going to keep it tight in the first half then bring on our subs to win the game late on! If we win this game everyone's jaws will be on the floor. Nobody saw that line up coming, for obvious reasons. I'll pmsl laughing if we win because it's so outlandish. Negredo has the most goals and assists, Traore can cause problems and de Roon can score the odd goal. That said it's a much closer line up to our championship team last year and maybe a preparation for next year. If we go into the Championship next year with that, we're gonna be in trouble. Likelihood next season is

  6. If the club really wanted Rhodes back I'm sure we could buy him. Maybe even buy him back cheaper if he's not been prolific, if the club wanted him.....
  7. 31231 Dimi Fabio Ayala Friend Clayton Forshaw Leadbitter Stuani Traore Fischer Bamford Subs - Ripley, Bernardo, Fry, Husband, Guidioura, de Roon, Gestede I think that gives us a pretty exciting attacking line up, plus it returns us closer to the team that won promotion and know how to do so in the championship. Gibson deserves a move to a PL team and we could do with the money. Downing will probably leave, lets be honest some of the fans have been pretty critical of him despite him sacrificing PL football to help get us promoted. There's no way Valdez and Negredo are staying.
  8. By this point I just want us to score goals. I don't care if we get beat 6-3 every game, we're gong down anyway.
  9. We have to find out where he is first. Probably locked in the same cupboard as BamBam. Travelled today with the squad apparently. To be fair... -------------- Ripley -------------- Fabio ----- Ayala - Fry ----- Friend Traore - Clayton - de Roon - Fischer --------- Bamford - Gestede -------- We're pretty set for the Championship :P I expect Gibson will want to be in the Premier league, I imagine Downing will want to leave. Ramirez will want to leave but lets be honest who'd want him? I can't see Valdez staying and we're not going to want to do a deal for Negredo, Bamford
  10. Well judging by the games so far I'd say we'll get 13 pts. Every game will be a 0-0.......... except for Sunderland at home, which we will win 1-0, probably in the 60th minute and be kept on the edge of our seats as we stave off waves of Sunderland attacks for the next 35 mins. We'll also be beaten by Chelsea and one of the Manchester teams. We'll go into the Liverpool game needing at least a draw to survive on goal difference Gaston will come alive again, but it will be Traore who will get his first goal of the season and have it ridiculously ruled out for some unknown reason and it
  11. If Stuani and Ramirez are ruled out due to travel I could see a 4-4-2 with Downing, Fischer on the wings and Nugent and Negredo upfront. Rhodes and Traore to come on as subs. Probably Guzan to start in goal, but just maybe Dimi will get a chance if Valdes is not fit yet.
  12. Don't know fully but we'd spent £17m-£20m before the signings of Chambers and Traore. We've then shipped out Reach and Adomah and a few loans. I've not seen what figures have been banded about. I'd imagine we were just about the smallest spenders in the league. 3rd lowest in the division I saw on Twitter. Hull and Stoke were lower. I thought I'd seen figures of 8mil for Adomah and 5mil for Reach. Not seen any figures for Traore. I hope we got him cheap. If we did we may not have spent more than 10mil in transfers. Wages are a whole different kettle of fish.
  13. Financially how did we do? What was the net spend? I think AK has done a good job of getting players who could turn out to be very good at relatively bargain prices but I haven't kept a ledger of all the spending. I'm sure someone on here has.
  14. Like you say may be a potential superstar, haven't seen enough of him to make a judgement, he hasn't played a lot of football so can't call it. Martial had only a season and a half of football behind him before he joined United. Traore, in fairness, did have 2 seasons in the Spanish second division and a couple of outings for the Barcelona team. Not comparing the leagues, not comparing the players ability. Purely comparing the fact that they're the same age with relatively similar appearances. Don't get me wrong I'm certain AK knows what he's doing as he sees these players all
  15. Dimi Baptiste Fry Espinosa or Ayala Fabio De Sart Forshaw - plays well in the next few games and de Roon and Leadbitter may have difficulty getting back into the starting line up. Fischer Stuani - worth letting him play a central role just behind Rhodes Adomah - needs to show improvement on yesterdays performance Rhodes - deserves to start If Espinosa is playing in the u23s Monday, I reckon it's worth testing Ayala's fitness in a cup game and having Jackson, McGhee and Nsue on the bench for the defence along with Reach, Nugent and Guzan. Might as well rest Negredo, Rami
