  1. Fair enough, mate. I have PalPaid my fiver "From Gadgey". I've also been to Fantasy Premier League and changed my squad name to "Some Gadgeys", just to make it obvious who those lacklustre mediocrities belong to.
  2. You must be using mobile. If you access the forum using the full version, you can Reply/Quote/Report another member's post and also Edit/Delete your own. Alternatively, ask one of the mods to do it for you. By the way, if that's your personal account, don't be surprised if you start getting lots of spam at Hotmail. It's never wise to publish a private email addy on the net. :( (I was expecting to see a Paypal account something like forumleague@email.com)
  3. Raf smog, will you be showing the new rules in the opening post? And the Paypal holding account name?
  4. This seems a much better arrangement, count me in. I have just been over at Fantasy Premier League and altered my squad name to "Some Gadgeys" to make admin a bit easier for you.
  5. Betamaxman never said nowt! I was there and I can vouch for it. :)
  6. Not sure I like the league code being public and open to people outside of oneBoro. Before I sign up, I'd like to know what proportion of people actually paid up last time?
  7. Don't forget that the CFA imposed a 100% tax on foreign player transfer fees at the end of May. Apart from curbing foolish spending, the intention is to help fund their football development outfit's plans to host the World Cup in the 2030s. Happy, happy talkin', happy talk, Talk about things you'd like to do, You gotta have a dream, if you don't got a dream, How you gonna have a dream come true? :)
  8. BBC announcer, asked to count up from zero in increments of 0.1%: Nought point one per cent, nought point two per cent, nought point three per cent, nought point four per cent, a half of one per cent, nought point six per cent, nought point seven per cent... I have no idea why they insist on expressing 0.5% that way although I suspect that it's to demonstrate the pride they all seem to take in being innumerate. grrr.
  9. I really don't think it matters whether he said "will" or "want" (to smash the league). If anyone else had made the remark you could argue that the difference between "will" and "want" is that one word suggests a fair bit of expectation while the other leans more towards wish fulfilment. However, it was the chairman who said it and if Steve Gibson says he wants something for the club, then surely a nod's as good as a wink, isn't it? Nudge, nudge, know what I mean?
  10. That "smash the league" expression certainly raised expectations hereabouts so how is Giibbo doing so far? It's 1st of july, we've got our new manager installed and he's got his own team coming in so we've completed the first, essential stage of our journey back to the promised land. it would be churlish to award the chairman much less than full marks for recruiting a manager who was many fans' first choice and so I rate his early progress at a highly encouraging 9/10. Keep up the good work, Mr Gibson.
  11. Is anyone else having trouble with Kodi since Fusion's demise in Mid June? The main problem for me was that Exodus stopped working, If you're in the same boat, I recommend the fix described here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y65VqCn9iK0
  12. If, as seems certain, the DUP extract a financial price for their collaboration, isn't May paying bribes out of public funds?
  13. I would vote for a party that promised to introduce legislation to end the kind of overcharging typified by the 118 scandal. Something really simple like including a "fair and reasonable charging" requirement in consumer protection legislation would suffice. Making it a matter for the small claims courts to decide would take it out of the hands of the slow and cumbersome ofgems, oftels and the other of***s who allow the industries they regulate to continue ripping people off. I want a magistrate to be able to look at a bill and say to the company "That is such a blatant overcharge that you
  14. If Liverpool run true to form, Southampton will be looking for a replacement for Forster this summer. Played an absolute blinder today.
  15. Saw the trailer on channel 4 yesterday, said 'coming soon' so must be in the next couple of weeks - looks awesome You need to learn how to stream or download pal, sod waiting for C4 Yes, following advice on here and plenty of subsequent "how to kodi" web research, I now use Kodi for all my viewing needs, on an ageing Windows 7 PC, no additional hardware required. I had Kodi ages ago on my Mac, but found it to be a little glitchy - like BWS I'm happy to wait for the UK airing! I suppose it depends on how much glitchiness you can tolerate. As far as streaming services go, I fin
  16. Have any of the previously punished players done it on the scale that Barton has? Barton has done both, he even admits to betting on himself as first scorer when at City Yes, I could have worded things better. The key test is whether players bet on matches where they are in a position to influence the outcome. It's the ultimate sporting sin to profit financially from playing badly and any competitor trying to do so deserves severe punishment. It's not splitting hairs to say that Barton never placed any bets where he could profit from playing badly. As for his three quid bet on him
  17. Players betting on matches they were involved in have been banned for a maximum of 12 months. Players never betting on matches they were involved in have been banned for a maximum of 6 months. Barton is in to the second group so how come he gets banned for 18 months with a £30,000 fine? (Other player fines aren't mentioned but any sort of monetary punishment must be especially painful for gambling addicts.) Never thought I would ever say this but I actually feel sorry for the bad boy.
  18. I'm glad I took the hint re Fargo. I started with the film which was excellent but I'm enjoying the TV series even more. Right up my street! 20. It is quite brilliant. It's a shame they haven't made more series. Capaldi getting the Doctor Who role was probably a factor although I wouldn't like to say whether he moved on because "Thick" was finished, or "Thick" finished because Capaldi moved on. He was superb in the Tucker role but for me the real star of the show was Armando Ianucci, its creator and principal script writer. AI is also behind the HBO series, Veep - another must watch if you haven't already.
  21. Two episodes in to S3 of "Better Call Saul" and it's shaping up to be something very special. (If your memory is as poor as mine then I recommend that you recap the final episode from S2 before starting S3.)
  22. The pearl necklace: decorate the stripper with Advocaat and then dodge her minder for at least three laps of the venue.
