  1. What do people think about restoring that highly effective strike partnership from their Blackburn days? We've got the players, so how about it?
  2. Just watched "Brimstone" and it's one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Trakt's synopsis says: Trakt must have been avoiding spoilers because the film is so much more than that. I'm going to avoid spoilers, too, but see if you can spot the three actors who play leading characters in a couple of ongoing TV series with eagerly awaited 2017 seasons still to air. Actually, I'd better make that two actors and an actress for those of you who are fussy about such things.
  3. Done. Yo,ho,ho and a bottle of...
  4. I can't remember ever betting against Boro in my life before. It hurts that I got max points for my Boro match prediction on Sky Super 6. :(
  5. Opening post was worth the wait. :) As people have already said, this is a very important game of football. We simply must start winning matches like this one because there are only seven games left where we stand much chance of picking up all three points. Our other six fixtures are against the big boys and I reckon a couple of points would be a good haul from those, in total. That leaves us needing mid-teen points from seven matches, a daunting task in a league where nobody's a pushover.
  6. I've been to Krakow twice but not Wroclaw, so i'm afraid i can't help. May i suggest drinking some absinthe and picking a fight with a local? Is that the modern equivalent of finishing school or the Grand Tour?
  7. Done and I suspect that I won't be alone in answering them all quite easily, apart from the one aimed at dyslexic students. :)

  9. I'm looking for investment ideas. I feel that my ISA is nicely balanced at present but it lacks any sense of adventure. There's currently a few bob in cash that's doing nothing so I want to invest it in a small/medium size outfit with decent medium/long term growth prospects. In other words, I want to take a punt. It would be nice if the company was also paying dividends but that's not essential. I have found in the past that useful pointers can stem from simple observation and names that come to mind are the likes of Comet and Mothercare when they first floated and, more recently, Greggs

  11. My guess is that you used one of the media programs to copy the tracks to the USB device. The solution is easy: use Windows file manager to copy your MP3s across.
  12. I've just finished watching the film "Paterson" and found it extraordinarily evocative of Boro's recent history. That Japanese guy had so much to say about recent events, so succinctly too.
  13. Yes, easily the best of Hollywood's spate of financial world sagas. It's shocking what those shysters got up to and (continue to) get away with. Nobody comes out of the episode with any credit - even the shouldabeen whistle-blower(s) decided to keep quiet until they could make as much money as possible from the inevitable melt-down.

    Nobby Stiles

This is a shame in more ways than one. I'll never forget him after that match, skipping around the pitch like a kid. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/nobby-stiles-manchester-united-england-pfa-fa-alzheimers-dementia-a7532336.html
  15. Comparing Fabio with Friend is a bit unfair on the evidence we have so far. I'm reserving judgement until I've seen what Fabio can do playing on the right, supposedly his more natural, side. If his performances on the left are anything to go by, we could be spoilt for choice at RB for the first time this century.

Half time and only 4 goals in the six!

I had already done my predictions before I read your post and I went back to see whether I could make sense of their offered bet. I couldn't. My predictions were for three 1-1 results and three 3-0 results so I don't like your 63/1 odds at all if Sky mean (as I suspect they do) that each of the six matches must record less than 2.5 goals. It's the only interpretation that makes sense - Sky won't be offering 63/1 against a total of fewer than 15 goals across the six matches. Also, note that less than 2.5 goals across six matches would mean a maximum of 14 in total, not 15. The Super 6
  18. Does Fischer remind anyone else of David Moyes?

  20. Downton's story lines were pure soap from start to finish. I suppose the same could be said for The Crown except that it it's tied so closely to real events. I'm not naive enough to believe that it's entirely accurate when it depicts what happened behind closed doors but I haven't seen anything that strikes me as wholly implausible. There are some big tests to come, however, and it's going to need a very strong guiding hand to keep the Princess Diana saga out of the suds.
  21. I've been watching something that I would not normally watch if it was the only thing between me and slow death from boredom. The reviews were so good and Netflix have been doing such good stuff that I decided to give it a go. despite fearing an even worse misrepresentation of the British upper crust than the ridiculous "Downton Abbey" , As it turned out, I could not have been more surprised by the opening two episodes of "The Crown". I don't think I've ever seen a made-for-TV drama with higher production values, or finer acting, or better script-writing than this. If you're of an age to
  22. boro-unger, there have been some superb MDTs in the past, some of them by yourself, but this one takes the Baileys-dunked biscuit. Wonderful stuff!
  23. Cheryl is Joe Cole's ex, right, but who is Louis Tomlinson?
