  1. For the decision I don’t understand if the referee stopped the game during the goal kick or for the injury. Reminiscent of the horror tackle on Ramirez against Brighton. I am sure the referee was going for the Yellow card until he saw Gastons sock pulled up. If the referee sees after the incident the blood coming from the eye then he can easily reverse the decision.
  2. We need Grant Hall back soon or an experienced brick shouse at the back. Felt we were soft at times today
  3. A younger Thai copy of Gibson post Karanka era.
  4. Agree with the sentiments regarding Woodgate and his eye for talent. When he was a player at Tottenham he would spend time with scouts at the club reviewing data and analysis and actually give them recommendations. There were a number of U19 players that he recommended to Liverpool that are now playing at the top level in Europe. Interested to know what Bevingtons full remit was as Head of Recruitment Operations as his background was a Reporter and PR/Communications.
  5. What club have avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth on the last day of the season and then been tipped from promotion the following season after losing a number of players out of contract? This is a season of consolidation.
  6. Wolves are unlikely to lose Ruben Vinagre to FC Porto this window, with reports claiming the Liga NOS champions are unlikely to be able to afford the full-back. Portuguese outlet Record claims the 21-year-old should prove too expensive for Porto, with Wolves officials apparently seeing him as a big asset.
  7. Michael Reiziger for me given he had already come to the club once and had been through, coached and managed the Ajax Youth Academy. There was talk he was looking to come to Europe but he has now been promoted to Assistant Manager at Ajax.
  8. You wouldn't think so with the glowing reference from SG. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-gibson-thanks-tony-pulis-16289050
  9. £18.36m at Boro (Profit of £32.64m) £113.4m at WBA (Loss of £75.41m) Worse on both counts.
  10. Within a 4 year period of being manager at WBA and Boro, Pulis brought in around £89 million in player sales. Thats a staggering number when you consider the relative size of the clubs.
  11. If Pep was the coach everyone says he is then he would be drilling the back 4 and coaching them how to defend the counter attack. He just buys players who are or close to the finished article.
  12. Marcus Maddison posted the below on Instagram today. We know Warnock likes a gamble with the likes of Taraabt and El Hadj Diouf. He could be just the person Marcus needs in his life to turn it around and be our outlet. marcusmaddison11 27 today 🥳 but can’t mask the fact that this year has been the worst of my life. No goals achieved, my best friend died 🐕😭, love life non existent ☠️ & now Jobless 🤷🏼‍♂️. So happy birthday To myself & knowing next year can’t be any worse surely 🤔🤨 #mm11 #birthday #inspire #life#job #dad #dog
  13. With the streamlining under Pulis and the belt tightening under Woodgate we won’t be immune to effects of COVID but will come out of the bubble strong with so many high earners leaving this summer. Imagine if we had spent the 50 million Monk kitty just prior to COVID. We should be in a strong position to pick up those talented players in L1 and L2 when inevitably those clubs can’t survive.
  14. Marvin Johnson was a strange signing. It seemed we paid over the odds at the time and he wasnt the quality we needed. He was also one of the players named in the alleged lawsuit from the club against Monk. Middlesbrough launched an investigation after receiving information that they may have paid over the odds to sign a number of players, including Ryan Shotton, Marvin Johnson, Ashley Fletcher and Cyrus Christie. Monk, it has been alleged, failed to inform Middlesbrough of the valuations placed on them by their clubs and therefore allowed the club to pay inflated fees. It has also been suggested that he ‘passed on confidential information to Featherstone, which enabled the agent to increase his commission’.
  15. San Jose follows Jonathan Leko, George Friend, Jon Toral Ivan Sanchez, Andres Prieto, Adam Clayton, Neil Etheridge and Scott Hogan in arriving at Blues this summer. Reminiscent of our early years with Karanka and Orta. You dont fully appreciate the signings of Stuani, Nugent, Ramirez and Forshaw during that promotion push until you compare with our incomings over the last 18 months.
  16. Bournemouth have never won away at Middlesbrough Boro - Hold my beer.
  17. Disappointing result but the Carabao Cup is a distraction we do not need and adds to a hectic schedule considering the season finished so late. Warnock will have learnt a number of things tonight about his squad and what needs to be addressed in the coming weeks. After barely surviving in The Championship last season we need a 3-4 year plan to go up and I would be happy this season for Warnock to build a solid foundation and a stable mid season finish. Sounds like a broken record but it will take time to recover the from £66m spending spree by Garry Monk in 17, losing the seasoned experience of Flint, Mikel, Downing Braithwaite and Randolph, transitioning from the Pulis way of playing and the financial restrictions under the Woodgate reign.
  18. You are right. He is out for several months as of early August. Has had a lot of injuries in the past. https://the72.co.uk/178096/middlesbrough-pursuing-deal-for-want-away-toulouse-winger-wesley-said/
  19. We have tracked Wesley Said since our first year back in the Premier League under Karanka when he played for Rennes. He is very close to Sanogo.
  20. I don’t think Gibson ever wanted to leave and certainly not to Burnley. Perhaps Steve Gibson feels personally responsible for his nephews situation at Burnley and wants to make things right while at the same time improving the squad
  21. The Tooting and Mitcham fans thought he would be able to step it up to League football coming from the Isthmian League South Central.
  22. An owner who has a historical dislike of football agencies and agents resulting in past legal battles (Jonathan Barnett legal slur case) and a manager whose known to prefer player recruitment through agencies with his own family having had past relationships between club employees and intermediaries when he was manager at that club. What could go wrong with our recruitment and ‘This won’t end well with Warnock’, indeed.
