Leeds United have signed midfielder Vurnon Anita on a three-year deal following his release by Newcastle. Anita made 155 appearances for Newcastle after signing from Ajax in July 2012, but was released in June. The 28-year-old, capped four times by the Netherlands, featured in 27 league games last season to help the Magpies win the Championship title. Anita is Leeds' fourth signing of this transfer window, after deals for Felix Wiedwald, Mateusz Klich and Hadi Sacko.

If Howson is allowed a free role further up behind a front two he can be very effective, however the reason he has never consistently played at a higher level is because he can be largely anonymous and struggle to find consistent form. I could see a very good partnership with Clayton as was the case earlier in his career. He is definitely the right type of character and personality we need in The Championship

Concerned if Monk accepts Agnew as part of the set up for Gibson and for whatever reason there is a split in the camp between Monks new players and those loyal to Agnew it wont effect morale.(Monk must fully trust Agnew and not be concerned he is there for Gibson and seeking his job)

We could have had Hiddink post Karanka and been able to offer a bigger incentive or bonus for delivering survival. What has changed since then?
