  1. No, I don't it works quite like that although I could be wrong. There's a process by which the club need to exit administration to avoid further punishments but ultimately it's the administrators that will decide how it happens. If it happens in such a way as to satisfy everything the EFL want then great but it might not, in which case they get further punishments, but they still exit administration. Maybe I'm talking about something else though.
  2. General rule of thumb - unless it sounds like I am being really serious then I probably am being sarcastic 🙂 I have no issue with Derby though, if they stay up after losing 21 points then they've done a fantastic job as far as I'm concerned. 21 points represents the punishment for failing FFP, and the 'punishment' for going into administration, albeit I think that's a really stupid thing to punish a club for. Add to that a transfer embargo then they've had plenty to deal with. Depending on how they exit administration then I believe there could be further points deductions as well. That's m
  3. I don't think that is correct, at least I'm not sure how it can be. Once the club is placed into administration then the administrators are the club. The club couldn't sign any agreement without the administrators being involved.
  4. Executions are punishments, I think if people use the word humane in that context it's to make themselves feel a bit better about killing somebody. If you want to look at historical 'humane' slaughtering of humans, then you'd have to look at things like the holocaust. I'm assuming we can all agree that this doesn't qualify as the humane slaughtering of humans however. We don't kill other humans humanely because deep down we know it's a load of ***. We tell ourselves it humane cos that makes it sound less bad somehow, like ok yeah we did kill all those animals, but we did it in a nice w
  5. Of course it is, which is why we're yet to hear of the humane slaughtering of humans.
  6. To you. To other people it does though. Killing animals is ok, just as long as it's for me to eat, and they taste nice, might to some people, suggest a rather selfish attitude to life. Not me incidentally, I understand it, but some people think differently, and they would see it as relevant.
  7. That wasn't the point being made though was it? The point being made was what if he'd kicked a child instead. So, in that specific scenario, there were only two options, and one of them is clearly worse than the other. That doesn't mean that both aren't bad, just that one is worse.
  8. Maybe the actual question is, who does the outcome have to be acceptable to? Cos increasingly these days, that actually seems to be the most important part of it all.
  9. I think it is mate, and I reckon that so do you really. It's not being callous to suggest that people value human life above all other life. We eat animals, we mistreat animals (sadly), and this goes on over and over, every single day. Nobody bats an eyelid about it, and it's not like we don't know it's going on because we do. Wilson asked what would happen if he'd kicked a child and so on, do you really think the conversations now would be the same if he'd been recorded doing that? I think the level of outrage would be off the scale, not just here but everywhere. We've had recent ex
  10. When it's not a cat getting kicked is probably the answer to that mate. Human life is valued above all others. That's just how it is, and like it or not, most people probably agree with that basic sentiment.
  11. Probably happens to him 10 times a game in fairness 🤷‍♂️ But yeah, by all means, boot him all over the park the nobhead 👍
  12. He could be a serial killer. We all could have done things that haven't been seen or witnessed but let's just stick to the crappy things we do know about instead eh. Footballers shouldn't be role models. They are just people good at running around and kicking a football, which ultimately is meaningless other than as a means of entertainment.
  13. I hope they stay up now that they are my second team. They are the true underdog story, a team battling against the odds to survive. This is what football is all about.
  14. I think we can say, without being terrible human beings, that we value the life of a child above that of a cat. It might not sound like the nicest thing to say but it's essentially true. The way you know that it's true is that if there was a house on fire and you had the option of saving a child or a cat, you'd be saving the child, and you wouldn't give it a second thought. Whilst I agree that people shouldn't be kicking cats, they aren't going to terminate his contract over it, and nor should they. I would guess the RSPCA and whatever the local police force is where he lives (Surrey/E
  15. Seems like a pretty sensible decision then when you put it like that 👍
  16. Derby are my second team now so I'm pretty happy 🙌 Come on the potato men!!!
  17. I doubt that will happen unless they are sponsored by Whiskas. I think if I was a Watford player I'd be constantly making little meow noises throughout the game whenever I went anywhere near him. Just do it nonstop and see if you can get him to lose his rag.
  18. Could be mate but the wording in the article suggested that we extended before he left? I just wondered if perhaps he wasn't quite as unwanted as it might be believed.
  19. To me they are so close it's not worth the discussion really if you know what I mean. I think there's plenty of midfielders knocking about now and over the last decade or so who are also in the same category. That's one of the reasons I couldn't understand us spending £5m on Howson at the time. Mind you, we topped that with Saville's signing a year later 🙁 I can't remember exactly some of the transfer fees involved but when you think of what we spent on Howson and Saville, and then think about what we spent on Morsy or Crooks, or even someone like Forshaw and Clayton, or for that matte
  20. It looks like a smart move now that he's doing really well, yeah. It's the bit beforehand that I'm less sure about, the bit where somebody thought what if he doesn't do well and then nobody wants him. I suppose if his salary is relatively small then it's less of an issue, you're simply stuck with a player you don't want, who is causing some problems. We're pretty good at ending up with players we don't really want though, we've almost made it into an artform now.
  21. We should probably give Forest at least 75% of any fee we receive though as they've done such a great job with him 👍
  22. I'm surprised you were able to read that much by yourself to be fair 🙃
  23. It's strange to extend a contract of someone you apparently don't want 🤷‍♂️
  24. Jack Rodwell was a better player than both albeit his career flamed out of course. I think the comparison you are drawing between Barry/Scholes and Howson/Leadbitter isn't really an ideal one mate although I do get what you're saying. Barry/Scholes both had huge numbers of games in the Premier League, but I'd say it was easier to see the difference in quality between the two. With Howson and Leadbitter I don't think there's much difference at all so you're trying to prise them apart with smaller details. I guess that I'd say that Howson at his best was slightly better than Leadbitter at
  25. Now that's how you run a football club! 👍
