  1. Many thanks to all those that have been pushing this agenda to the club, I absolutely detest our current badge. It hurts my eyes so this is exciting but slso worrying. If we go for an older badge slightly modernised (like some of the suggestions here) it could be awesome and I'll love it. If we go further down the faux-heritage design-free clip art style of current badge it could get even worse. Rebranding is a costly business, make this new one good and then keep it is my advice. Even the lion by itself with just 'MFC" could look classy. That would obviously depend on the kit desi
  2. There are two threads about a new manager so I'm not sure where to write this but I don't think people are thinking far enough ahead. Forget about sacking Carrick, I'll officially be the first to suggest we sack the manager after Carrick. Might start a thread about it as well. Probably not though.
  3. Agreed. It's baffling the amount of completely irrelevant posts about who we should get as our next manager. gibbo has been very patient in the past and we desperately need to stop the knee-jerk reactionism if we are to get anywhere. Carrick seems fully aligned with the ethos as well, so took losing Morgan Rogers - who he improved - in his stride. Very happy the powers that be aren't flinching despite the caterwauling that accompanies every downturn in form. UTB
  4. I tried a few times to start a 'Scott MacDonald lives in Yarm E-I-E-I-OOO....' chant to the tune of Old MacDonald's farm. But I never worked any of the other lines out and it didn't catch on.
  5. Just saw the highlights, what a finish from Azaz. Absolute pure class, 2 stunning goals in two games and can pick a pass. Some signings that lad. Very chuffed for silvera aswell, that was a very composed finish, not bad for a league one player! Maybe, just maybe our coaches are improving what was supplied to them. I just hope we don't lose any more of our stars for a while, if we keep them and add to it next season could be quite an event. UTFB!!!
  6. Get in my Boro. We mugged Leicester right off despite expert opinion. Very satisfying indeed. We dominate games sometimes and get poor results so we cashed in a lot of our luck today. But I feel on balance we could have got more from a lot of games this season with a more settled team and a few more goals up top. You can't say that on here after a defeat though!! Team spirit and the players being behind carrick has never been in question in my mind, his biggest failing is against the perceived 'lesser' teams where we don't have the same intensity. That is fixable though, and a
  7. Akpom improved substantially too - as have others. Not all of them, but the ones that have, it hasn't been by fluke imo. The ones that haven't you could just as easily argue that they couldn't be improved, no matter the coaching.
  8. I'm actually concerned we lose Carrick, can't see many managers stepping in to develop players then watch them get sold. He's on a hiding to nothing, hard enough for a seasoned pro to manage this situation, let alone someone learning everything. Although it's a year and a half now so you'd expect something to be forming in it's infancy at least. I understand the new model, but conceivably we could lose McGree, Hackney, VDB, Jones in the sumner, We NEED to lose howson I feel, and so that's another huge 'rebuild' when we are only 10% the way through the current rebuild. And I can't see
  9. I was just quietly coming to terms with this news, was doing quite well until I read the comments here and now I'm cut-up again! I really love Matty Crooks. It's great to read these super positive comments about him, fair to say he divided opinion which is mad as we'll be tearing people's arms off for another mid to replace his goal contributions. Was leadbitter the last one to have such good stats (and he took penos, and at that time we were winning loads of them). Apart from the fact he always had the potential to come up with a moment of magic, a pass or a goal (or a yellow card.
  10. Yeah, their goal came from a counter attack after Engel was in a good position but his cross was behind our two players in the box. The mackems broke quickly and found their man Engel should have been marking, so someone dropping back to cover Engel would have helped. It still shouldve been saved however. We'd been in total control till that point but then were rattled. I understand forss workrate lends him to the wing, but surely the best finisher goes up top when the squad is so threadbare? One hell of a touch and finish though, he's a stone cold killer, the best we have. Greenwood
  11. A bit of luck but wow, that's some finish that like.
  12. He'll be worth much more than that in two years if his value keeps going up at this rate..!
  13. Bluff away Villa! I'm hoping this is the start of Boro starting to play hard-balls with potential buyers. Would be a great indication we are on the right track if we do sell him for a massive profit in just 6 months. I'm sure the next rough diamonds are being lined up, no worries about that!
  14. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions they can repeat quite a few time on who is a better footballer, Ramsey or Rogers...? 😂 I'll just have one post on the subject, hear me out. Rogers is better, he can tackle, isn't made of chocolate and doesn't have the hugely revered irreplceable Ryan Giles supplying him with a ton of sweet assists and freeing him from defensive duties each game. If we had Ramsey this season he would 100% not have been as effective as he was last season due to the players around him, oh and he'd be injured. Just adding my entirely subjective opinion into the
  15. I respect your view but I don't get that feeling at all. 'at best' I think we're better than mid table. I say that because we've only seen our best in fits and starts, and surely at our best we make fewer mistakes and convert more chances which would see more points on the board. Also at best we have a fully fit squad. We are above mid table now and most definitely not at our best. I thought the villa and chelski games would be total drubbings with the state of our squad but we were competitive v two top pl teams for 180minutes and that shows me we have something to build on especislly if
  16. We all feared we may get anihilated, what's disappointing is we gifted them so much. At least playing out from the back in the champo may feel a bit easier from now! but we really could have done with just clearing our third at times. Teams identities are forged during tough times, it won't get any tougher than that this season for sure. I don't think we are ready for the playoffs even if we got there, the transfer activity shows we are keeping our powder dry for now and still future building. In the meantime if we just stop getting injuries it would be a great help..! U
  17. What a finish that was. What odds on Morgan Rogers to be top scorer for the competition?
  18. I was going to say we didn't deserve that but we've been culpable for all 6. It's the exact opposite of the first leg. Oh FFS, just give us that one lino.
  19. A bit gutting that mcgree will probably move in the summer and his last season with us we'll have got to see him so rarely.
  20. They probably won't, when you're scoring for fun it just gives you more energy!
  21. That's what's hard to take. At least once we stop gifting goals we'll concede about 75% less... !
