  1. Surprised Knudsen has moved to Malmo , thought D.Z said it was a done deal for Boro.
  2. Why since then would Gibson, Bevington, Bausor & Kenyon spends weeks interviewing others??
  3. Getting cramp in my ring piece it's twitching too much. HANG ON BOYS !!!
  4. I think we underestimate the amount of sway Agents and Agency firms have. They whisper in the right ear, and help get deals over the line. They also actively work with certain clubs to earth some hidden gems, etc. With us having a very open Club policy of hating Agents and screwing their commissions to the floor. Pulling the plug on deals at the eleventh hour to force lower fees. What Agent would want to do us any favours, or be pooping themselves for an eleventh hour deal collapse. "Super Agent" Jorge Mendes was close to our club a few seasons ago and with Peter Keynon presented a plan to Gibson how to conveyor belt our club for Europe's finest youngsters. Gibson declined in fear of losing the "local" club mentality and backed backed Gary Gill. As we all know Jorge Mendes then took this opportunity to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Football's a global game, and we're now reaping the rewards of closing ourselves off and keeping it local.
  5. That Kiril Despodov lad is off to Cagliari for €3M Euros , seems cheap and low risk.
  6. Yet none have made a bid. Granted it could be going on behind the scenes, but it could just as well be his agent trying to drum up some interest. Neither have we. And we haven't been seriously linked in the media. It's just a bunch of fans naming unrealistic targets on internet forums. Latest is that Spurs are readying a formal offer after Harry Kane's injury. Yesterday Spurs were considering Origi as a replacement for Kane. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/hull-city-s-bowen-to-spurs-pochettino-hadn-t-heard-his-name-until-wednesday-1-9519754 TOTTENHAM Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out making a January move for Hull City top-scorer Jarrod Bowen. But dismissing any talk of a move for Spurs, Pochettino said: “I heard for the first time yesterday (Wednesday) this name. It is like many names that appear in the media – rumours. “Be careful because hundreds of players were related with the club and then never happened. I think my answer is so clear.
  7. Tyrone Mings is available for loan with WBA in the hot seat apparently. Not seen too much of him lately but I always thought be was a decent full back (and can cover CB). Wonder if we're looking at this.
  8. Na, thats one of those urban myths that perpetuates around every Nigerian footballer Martins at Newcastle did look about 50 though .
  9. That's a good point.. if it's a CM who can take set pieces then it makes a lot more sense. But we've got the best left foot in English football, set pieces shouldn't be our problem ............ should they?
  10. Doesn't Mikel have a suspect Nigerian birth certificate, where his "real" age is probably closer to 40 ?
  11. David Wagner has just left Huddersfield, is it correct that Pulis's contract expires at the end of this season ? Asking for a friend.
  12. Does make me laugh, TP bangs on there's no money, yet he adds to the wage bill (and maybe a transfer fee) in our most stocked area. After we sign the mystery CM, "Are we gonna get a winger in Tony?" TP: "I don't wanna waste Steve's money, there's nothing left in the pot"
  13. Is it a chap by the name "Pacey McWinger" ?
  14. Suppose it depends on whether Hull are even more skint. I imagine we have some money to spend regardless of what Alan Nixon says, and investing in a young player like Bowen would make sense. Someone with some real sell on value. 11 goals and 3 assists from the right wing this season. That's the kind of player we should be spending out money on. And Hull might be tempted to rake in some cash if we can also sweaten then deal with loan player or two. Maybe even Fletcher in a cash + player deal. I wish we'd get him but there's serious prem interest and interest from Leeds. Sky sports yesterday said Spurs want him and could cost around 20 mill Maybe Ollie Watkins is an alternative to Bowen if Prem clubs are queuing up.
  15. When RVLP joined Huddersfield in 2016 it was on a 3 year contract that expires summer of 2019 (in 6 months). So "the nature of the fee" means what exactly ? It can't be much over 1 Million , based on him being in the last knockings of his contract.
  16. if he does then my dwindling support and respect for Gibson ends. 2.5x Championship (35K per week) = £4.5M 1x Premier League (70K per week) = £3.6M +£7M transfer fee Total = £15.1M 9 League goals = £1.67M per goal. Or 16 League Assists = £944K per assist. Or 25 (G & A’s) = £604K per. At least we can’t complain we haven’t had value for money from Stewy D. I’m with Pulis when he wishes we have 11 Stewart Downings.
  17. This is the most bizarre comment I've ever seen on here! It was fairly bizarre being there. I could tell you a few tales ... Shower room tales ???? Keep them between yourself and your therapist .
  18. DTV had a flight to Amsterdam on Saturday? David Neres
  19. I saw an incredibly poor Sheffield United that made us look like Brazil. I also saw Millwall tear us to pieces for 75/80 mins on Saturday. The current squad has zero width or creativity, we'll be sussed soon, and all will set up against us limiting us to long balls and set pieces. Not ideal . Sheffield United were very poor but we still scored 3 goals. Lighten up ffs. Yeah you're right, we'll just ask to play them every week then . FFS. Because every team in this league is better than Sheff Utd? They only finished 7 points behind us last season. Can't please some fans. Sheff United & Millwall over achieved last season, and I'm confident they'll be in the bottom half of the league come May 2019. So confident I'll bet you right here, £250 good enough want to take a screen shot if you agree? Our complete inability to beat teams in the top 6 last year was a major factor of us not going up. You need quality against quality or you fall short. Looking at our squad and the squads of others I reckon we'll fall short once again. I'm supplying my honest opinion, and beaming light as a million candles, so don't need to lighten up FFS .

  22. With regards to LW signings and I mean players with a previously history of playing LW possibly left footed (not a square peg in round hole) , I can’t think of a decent signing since Boudewijn Zenden back in 2003. We’ve had some decent academy lads through (Stewart Downing , Adam Johnson, Adam Reach) , but I reckon the below have been poor signings for us. Mark Yeates ------------------ June 2009 Andrew Halliday ------------- July 2010 Adam Hammill --------------- March 2012 (*loan til end of season) Emmanuel Ledesma ------- July 2012 Mustapha Carayol --------- August 2012 Yanic Wildschut ------------ September 2014 Carlos de Pena ------------- August 2015 Viktor Fischer -------------- May 2016 Marvin Johnson ----------- August 2017 Jack Harrison -------------- January 2018 (*loan til end of season) So maybe we should just stick to the academy for LW in future and ditch off the transfer market completely. Harry Chapman & Marcus Tavernier to the rescue.
  23. But was he someone with a proven track record in football recruitment ? NO he's got the job based on "being involved with football for a fair while" and of course being a local. We either put competent people in the correct positions, or fudge it with locals. We choose the later on most occasions and wonder why we're naff.
  24. When it comes to attracting loan players from the prem , we're about as appealing as a pint of camel ejaculate. Ojo opted for Fulham Kent went to Bristol City Grujic to Cardiff If they want references from Baker & Harrison , these won't be glowing endorsements. More senior players surplus to requirements in prem squads, will wait until the end of the European transfer window before considering dropping down to the championship. We really are in a woeful position, at the mercy of arrogant Premier league kids, to whether we are worthy enough of their loan signing.
